ROH, Independents Or Big Leaues
On July - 8 - 2009
I've been going back and forth with this one for a while now, is Ring of Honor still consider an Independent Organization or is it in the big leagues?
I mean, what exactly classifies a wrestling promotion as an independent anyways?
Most fans would agree that ROH is an unchallenged number three, but there's a bigger gap between two and three than there is one and two.
While ROH has steered away from the old school big names for the most part, or vice versa, TNA has used them to catapult the organization to the national spotlight.
But it's strange to me how ...
Ring Of Honor Presents: Claudio Castagnoli, He’s Very European!
On July - 8 - 2009
"He's very European." That is a phrase that is often said of Claudio Castagnoli (who I will be referring to simply as Claudio from now on due to the complexity of his last name).
This phrase is due to the fact that he is from Switzerland. However, there are many other words that would fit in that phrase.
Claudio is also very powerful. Standing at six and a half feet tall, he is what would be considered more of a power moves-based wrestler. Despite this, however, he has the agility to move quickly and the ability to perform top rope moves when ...
The Great Khali: The Greatest Wrestler Of All Time
On July - 7 - 2009
Where were you fellow wrestling fan when The Great Khali first strode into your lives?
In front of the TV eating dinner with your mom, dads, uncles, grand-uncles, second cousins, nephews, sons, first cousin/wife? Was it while waving your pitchfork along with the other friendly yokels while watching Smackdown live at a truckstop?
Or, for the younger amongst us, was it at the cinema watching another critically accalimed Adam Sandler movie?
I know I will always remember where I was—in a hospital fighting for my life against what the doctors had told me was a terminal condition—terminal cancer.
For those long hard months as I lay there unable ...
The Evolution of Ted DiBiase: The Beginning of Something Great
On July - 6 - 2009
Mark it down on your wrestling calenders.
July 6, 2009—the night Ted DiBiase took his first steps as a superstar.
Sure, he was part of the best stable going into professional wrestling already. Although the tag team championships had slipped from their grasp, he and Cody Rhodes have made an impact on RAW for the last few months.
However, DiBiase's character has shown the need to step out on his own. You had to wonder why he never mentioned the boot from Randy Orton upon his return from filming his movie.
Those thoughts raised themselves at The Bash. DiBiase blamed Orton as being the ...

WWE Does Double Tapings; TNA Continues to Lack Sense
It was a solid non-PPV in the wrestling world.
WWE taped two episodes each of RAW and Smackdown! But for the purposes of this wrap, we will just focus on the TV from last week and focus on the round next week.
TNA Impact! has slowly become a sleep aid for me. I think because of their odd taping schedules, the show suffers from not always knowing which way it wants to go and then having to wait two, sometimes three, weeks to change things.

The Man in Gold: A Look At Goldust
On July - 5 - 2009
Lately a lot of people have been writing articles about undiscovered or favorite wrestlers in promotions and I figured I would join in on the fun. However, for me, one of my favorite superstars is a little eccentric, a little bizarre. After all, he is the man in gold: Goldust.
I've been a fan of Goldust since I was a young kid because he was different, he was contraversial, and I think a weird part of me liked him because he was gold. You hear today that most heel wrestlers have an obsession with gold (meaning titles), well Goldust started the ...
Profiles Of The Non-Mainstream: Ring Of Honor’s El Generico
On July - 5 - 2009
I have a framed "Peanuts" comic on my desk. Snoopy and Woodstock are eating ice cream, Snoopy ridicules Woodstock for liking vanilla, and it ends with the realization that "it takes all kinds to make a world."
While I'm sure that the goal of my parents was to get me to use that as a reminder, using it as a set up for this profile is the most useful it has ever been other than being another piece in a rather extensive collection of Snoopy mementos. You see, the phrase "it takes all kinds" really does need to be taken to ...
Joe’s 411: B/R Pro-Wrestling News (July 4, 2009)
On July - 4 - 2009
Welcome to an all new Joe's 411: B/R Pro-Wrestling News, Independence Day edition. While all of you non-Americans have a normal day, we Americans will be celebrating our Independence from England, like we do every year on July 4.
We have a lot to get to, from John Morrison to Torrie Wilson News. So why don't we get started, eh?
Torrie Wilson Update
It seems that Torrie Wilson is very frustrated by the WWE. In a recent interview with the Baltimore Sun, she mentioned she was embarrassed at Wrestlemania. Take a look at what she had to say:
“I’m very mad at ...
Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker: Pros and Cons of Their Retirement
On July - 4 - 2009
I recently was reminded that two of the greatest wrestlers that ever graced a wrestling ring would possibly be retiring next year.
It was something I had been striving to forget, and not news that I recalled wholeheartedly as both have entertained me throughout my entire life as a wrestling fan.
Warranted I know that these are mostly rumors but both Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker are getting older and its inevitable that will retire, if not next year then surely the year after, and I came to remember that denial was no way to live as I have repeatedly reminded others.
As such ...
Wrestler Orlando Savage, Still Waiting for His Break
On July - 3 - 2009
Hello, wrestling fans! As many of you know, I have two profiles on here and many of you have read the articles that I wrote about a young unknown wrestler, Orlando Savage.
I didn't really do that well, hardly any views or comments. I don't know if it was my writing or because Orlando isn't well known as John Cena or Triple H, Randy Orton or if it was a combination of both.
I would like to have another chance to help Orlando to get some publicity. He works hard and is very dedicated. Orlando is smooth and he has the moves.
All ...
