The WWE Championship: Who Is Randy Orton’s Succesor?

Posted by Kevin Williams On July - 29 - 2009
In today's World Wrestling Entertainment, many of the title holders have to consider themselves lucky if they can hold on to their belts, especially the World Heavyweight Championship, for 50 days. Both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship belts change hands often enough that people like Triple H, Edge, and John Cena may all surpass Ric Flair's legendary sixteen world championships by the time the books close on their careers. Current WWE Champion, Randy Orton, is quickly closing in on the first 50 days of his title reign, and though I don't believe that he will lose the belt in the next month ...

WWE DVD Spotlight and Review: The Greatest Stars of the 90s

Posted by Nefatiri H On July - 29 - 2009
Hello B/R and welcome to the first of many DVD reviews from yours truly. Most of my reviews will consist of WWE DVD sets but only because I don't own any TNA or RoH stuff...yet. The reason for my reviews is to help you all decide whether or not it's really worth buying. I'm sure you can look up reviews on Amazon or somewhere else but not all of them will give you what I'm giving you. You see, lately the WWE has been dishing out DVD sets like crazy. I think they put out at least one a month so I'm always ...
It seems as if the WWE hit both a gem and mud when they came up with this novel concept of bringing in a new guest host every week for Monday Night RAW. It started out with the use of WWE Legends and one current superstar. Now it looks like we will see a Celebrity of some sort every single week, which I am personally happy with. Will it help RAW get ratings? I am not too sure. Since the beginning of the RAW Guest Host concept being instituted, the ratings have basically stayed the same. There was a small rise, but ...
Close your eyes and imagine if Shawn Michaels had never returned to wrestling. No Undertaker-HBK match at Wrestlemania XXV.   No "I'm sorry, I love you" at Wrestlemania XXIV.    No DX reunion.    No elbow-drop off of an impossibly high ladder onto Vince at Wrestlemania XXII.   No Icon Versus Icon match against Hulk Hogan.   No amazing series of matches against Kurt Angle.   No Triple-Threat main event at Wrestlemania XX.   No five-star match against Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania XIX.   No "impossible" title-winning moment in the first-ever Elimination Chamber. What are the most important moments/matches in modern wrestling history? A question like this could keep fans ...

Lita: The Greatest Women’s Champion of All-Time

Posted by Ross On July - 29 - 2009
Lita is many different things to many different people. For some she is the "Lucha Libre Queen," and for others she is the "Punk Rock Diva," but for the Matt Hardy fans, she's the "B*tch from Hell." However, Lita's ability to make so many fans feel so many different things about her was one of the things that made her so interesting and fun to watch. You never knew what to except with Lita. She actually began her career in ECW, as a valet, before coming to the WWE and becoming a valet once again. However, after a while Team Xtreme was ...

75 Reasons Why We Enjoy Professional Wrestling

Posted by Scott Beeby On July - 29 - 2009
Somehow I'm already up to my 75th article! I figure that's somewhat of a milestone, so I thought I'd do something special. Something a little different. I read a lot of articles on Bleacher Report about wrestling, in particular WWE and TNA, where the writer isn't happy with what just happened on the latest episode of RAW, or they don't like what TNA just did with one of their story lines. I think that everyone should take two giant steps back and look at wrestling as a whole. We shouldn't be overly critical of the thing we love to watch. We ...

CvC: Jaguar Yokota for Greatest Women’s Champion

Posted by James Triggs On July - 29 - 2009
Never heard of the name? I cannot blame you. Jaguar Yokota has not appeared in WWE or TNA. She made her presence known in Japan, in one promotion. She demonstrated, in my opinion, that she is nothing less than the greatest women's champion in the history of pro wrestling. What makes a good champion? They represent their company, they lead the company forward and are expected to produce great matches and ideally help the company grow and continue with a new generation. Jaguar Yokota certainly represented AJW, All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling, not just on the occasions she was champion, but in her time ...
The Night Of Champions pay-per-view has come and gone, and the road to SummerSlam has begun. New champions were crowned, partners were revealed, and rivalries forged, but who among you saw these events coming? I don’t think anyone was predicting The Big Show as Jericho’s partner, and there were few that thought Jeff Hardy and Christian would take away the gold. But, that is the way the WWE goes, as unpredictable as ever. Nevertheless, 66 of you were brave enough to take part in this prediction competition, with varied success, but who came out on top of the pack? For rules and ...
Preface: In the upcoming days you will be able to read several takes on just who is the greatest female wrestling champion ever. It is a Creature versus Creature event that will 11 names (12 if Hayley Graham is able to do hers after her surgery). The names of the other writers will be added at the end and my bulletin board will have links to all of their pieces. One other piece of info: you will see one glaring omission from this contest-- Fabulous Moolah. I excluded her as many generally see her as the greatest anyway. Ever so ...
