WWE Fantasy League: Week one standings
On July - 28 - 2009
Hi everyone. As always, thank you for spending a few with me today.
Due to some complaining of not being able to open this article I have created a revised roster update.
I would also like to thank Scott, RKO, Jack, and everyone else who helped me out when my PC crashed. Without them, this draft would have failed.
The prizes will be an autographed pic of Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and a Ring of Honor DVD. The first place winner gets his choice, then the second place winner picks the prize that they want. The third place winner gets the unpicked one.
At ...
World Heavyweight Championship Slowly Becoming Worthless
On July - 28 - 2009
We all know the title quite well: The World Heavyweight Championship is one of the top two championships of the WWE (three if you consider the ECW title a top championship). The belt is fairly young, having just been created in 2002.
Some choose to credit this belt along the lines of the WCW title. However, WWE has since confirmed that it is a whole new title altogether and that its roots cannot be traced back to either the WCW or NWA heavyweight titles.
The world heavyweight championship once meant something in the WWE. It was a fairly important title and one that ...
An Update to the Wrestling Community
On July - 28 - 2009
First off, I have erased my previous article where I voiced my displeasure over several things. I never wanted to write that article, but I felt it was needed. I also appreciate the pick votes several of you gave me, but I didn't want that article winning AOTD. The goal I set out for was achieved. If anyone feels slighted by my actions, I apologize.
With that said, I recently spoke with B/R about the issues that I have had with the site and community. Thus, I want to update everyone here.
The World Wrestling Ring Master issue is being looked into. ...
RNN Special Edition: JLB Resigns As Community Leader
On July - 28 - 2009
(The RNN cameras open to JLB sitting at the RNN news desk, alone. The lights are dimmed. There are no workers in the studio, there is no Joe Farrell, and JLB has a serious expression on his face.)
Welcome to the final edition of RNN and the final column that I will ever write for Bleacher Report.
This article was supposed to be the second episode of RNN’s second season. Today, I was going to reveal the third man, per the angle on the last episode of RNN, and explain to all of you just what the letters "TWD" mean.
Shit happens though, ...
The Finishing Move: Shaq Attacks Raw!
On July - 28 - 2009
No rumors. No ratings. Just recap.
Since the "Monday Night Wars" in the late '90s, professional wrestling has been so scrutinized by so-called "smart" marks (a wrestling fan) that fans of wrestling today have completely forgotten what wrestling is all about...entertainment.
With that in mind, I welcome you to "The Finishing Move."
In my article, I will summarize wrestling programs for you. I will take the show and break it down (no pun intended) into promo segments and matches. I will not rate the matches, and I will not berate the promos.
I will simply just give you the highlights of the night, and I will ...
Bob Backlund: An Innovator Of Excellence
On July - 28 - 2009
Hello everyone. As always, I would like thank all of you for spending a few moments with me today.
The man I would like to talk about today may not be someone that many of you recognize. It is a man that you do not hear talked about much on BR. He is an important man though; if not for this man we may have never seen champs like HBK, Bret Hart or Jeff Hardy. The man I am referring to today is none other than Bob Backlund. While many refer wrestlers like HBK or Bret Hart for breaking in smaller ...
WWE Writers Need New Outlook, New Strategy
On July - 27 - 2009
July 7, 1996, Bash at the Beach. WCW, a company that had great potential. Eric Bischoff had managed to sign and debut Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, who had only weeks earlier been on the WWF's roster as Razor Ramon and Diesel.
There was a stale story within the company: They had a phenomenal superstar, at least a big-money draw, at the top of the roster, but one that was in serious need of an overhaul. Enter the third member of the invading WWF talent, that being the aforementioned superstar, Hulk Hogan.
This revamping of the storylines led to a new direction ...
Faithbreaker II: McCool Does It Again, Proves Worth and Outshines Divas
On July - 27 - 2009
Night of Champions has come and gone, and the WWE Universe is underway with is post-PPV routines, marking out in celebration for their favorite star(s), or tearing their house apart in utter frustration.
This PPV was an odd one to say the least with weird match placements, shocking wins, and other surprises.
Hearts were broken when Captain Charisma didn't make the "supposedly" epic heel turn, and heads turned when Jeff Hardy won against CM Punk and became the new World Heavyweight champion despite the overwhelming odds that he faced.
One of the biggest and most pleasant surprises was the WWE Women's title ...
WWE RAW Shaqwind: Big Show Gets Posterized!
On July - 27 - 2009
After a monumental Night of Champions, RAW goes live with the arrival of WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler to introduce the night’s Guest Host: the newest Cleveland Cavalier, Shaquille O’Neal!
The Diesel came out firing with the announcement that there would be a Five-Man Beat The Clock Challenge to determine the No.1 Contender for the WWE Championship at Summerslam. The five men were: Triple H, MVP, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry and John Cena! As Shaq got the crowd ready, Chris Jericho came down to interrupt the insanity that Shaq was causing.
Jericho immediately came out and started insulting the ...
Wrestling Community Leader Voicing His Displeasure With B/R Admin.
On July - 27 - 2009
I'm not concerned with your liking or disliking me... All I ask is that you respect me as a human being. --Jackie Robinson
Excuse me if this article gets to be somewhat off-color and if I ramble Iceman-esque, but I think I have reached a point where something needs to be said. Forget the witty nicknames, the fictitious news programs, forget being nice, let's just be honest.
I have been here 11 months on Bleacher Report. I have written articles that appear in several different communities and have fans and favorite writers from several communities. I currently sit atop the Humor section, ...
