NOC PPV Review: The Divas Show the Knockouts How It’s Done

Posted by Christi Lott On July - 26 - 2009
SPOILERS  If you're not following Streams or results!!!       The two Diva matches are over and a title has changed hands. Here's my review of each match. Michelle McCool defeats Melina to retain the WWE Women's Championship Michelle finally did what EVERYONE should have done a long time ago: dropkick Melina while she does the splits. It was a good spot. The two highlighted how physical they can be. Melina continues to showcase her flexibility and agility with some new innovative moves, especially with her kicks. This spot with heel Divas stretching her to the point of her feet touching her head is a bit played out. ...

Cm Punk and Jeff Hardy: Who Will Be The Top Dog?

Posted by lee raydean On July - 26 - 2009
Night of Champions is only minutes away, and I'm anticipating the match between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy. As I sit here and write this, I look back on other matches that have involved both of these wrestlers; I think about how much I admire them both for their skill, competetiveness, and ability to dig deep down to get the job done. Jeff and Punk used to be on the same page; they saw eye to eye. That was in the past. It was before Punk decided to turn his back on the good guys—the same ones that were always there for ...

Chris Jericho’s Mystery Partner: Figuring It Out

Posted by Josh Logan On July - 26 - 2009
Who could Chris Jericho's mystery partner be? Apparently no one on the internet knows. Heck I don't think his partner even knows. Chris Jericho is in a predicament. His Partner is injured and he is about to defend his Unified Tag Team Championships against a formidable advisory in Legacy. He needs a partner, but who wants to be Chris Jericho's partner. As we all have seen, if you have been watching WWe, Jericho has not been so popular with the boys in the back. The big question of the day though is this "Has Jericho burned too many bridges with his ...

WWE Pay-Per-View Previews: Night Of Champions

Posted by DJ Rallo On July - 25 - 2009
Well as Night of Champions arrives, there are a lot of questions being asked about Jeff Hardy's contract negotiations, Chris Jericho's mystery partner, and the faith that WWE has to give Randy Orton a decent WWE Championship run. But no matter how this show turns out we can all agree that this will be better than Victory Road. The gimmick of this show is simply what the name implies, all matches will be for championships. This is one gimmick pay per view that I do enjoy as opposed to the gimmicks of Cyber Sunday and Extreme Rules because it gives the tag team ...
The WWE is a big man's world.  The Khalis and Kozlovs of this world seem to get a free pass to the main event scene. Along the way, more than a few of the little guys get thrown around a ring or bearhugged into oblivion in a frantic effort to get them over. It's a tried and tested booker's strategy done since the WWE's earliest days.   A pity about the wrestling though. It has long been known in wrestling circles that Vince McMahon is a strong adherent of the "bigger is better" philosophy. Numerous steroid scandals, which have engulfed the WWE, have shown Vince to be anything but an ...

Rumors For WWE’s Night Of Champions

Posted by Svyato Rovenchuk On July - 25 - 2009
Hey it's Svyato. I'm currently on Vacation, but since I have a computer here I decided to inform you guys on some rumors I had heard.   Rumor No. 1 If you hate Batista brace yourself! There have been some rumors around Batista's return. One suggested that he would be returning at Night Of Champions to interfere with the WWE Championship Match. There are two variations to this though. One suggests that Batista would come back and help Triple H capture the WWE Championship. Despite what Orton did to Dave, he would not feud with Randy, but instead Triple H. On Monday Night Raw as ...
Welcome to another episode of the World Wrestling Newswire.  Today's introduction theme is inspired by a recent trend that is taking shape on Raw...guest hosts.  I'm completely convinced that the idea is positively stupid and just flat out doesn't work. Seth Green and ZZ Top have been recent hosts, while Shaquille O'Neal appears to be on deck. My theory is that guest hosts do not work for pro wrestling and they do not work for pro wrestling newswires.  To prove my point, I'll be naming a guest introduction host today, as the introduction has become sort of a signature characteristic of the ...

WWE Highs and Lows of the Week (7/19/09- 7/25/09)

Posted by Brian Wholley On July - 25 - 2009
This list will recap the week that was in WWE by showing the high's and lows of every episode. The week started off with ZZ Top hosting Monday night Raw and ended with CM Punk standing tall over Jeff Hardy. This was the "go home" week leading into WWE's PPV "Night of Champions." WWE mainly focused on its major match-ups in the upcoming event in Triple H, Cena, & Orton as well as CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy. Minor feuds got attention as well as Ziggler vs Rey Mysterio got time on Smackdown as well as ...

Why Wrestlemania 19 Was “The Greatest Spectacle”

Posted by Keith Ensminger On July - 24 - 2009
“Which is the best Wrestlemania of all time?” It’s one of the classic, yet truly unanswerable, fan arguments.  Everyone is going to have their own opinion and their own justifications.  Is it Wrestlemania III with Savage-Steamboat and Hogan-Andre?  VI with Hogan-Warrior?  XX with Benoit-HBK-HHH? Recently, on this very site, I read an article stating that Wrestlemania XVII (17) was the greatest Wrestlemania of them all.  Does it deserve this special distinction?  While it’s not hard to argue that TLC II was a fantastic contest, I respectfully disagree with the author when he says it’s the best Mania match of all time, let ...
