Remembering the Irish Ironman: Shane Shamrock
On August - 10 - 2009
When taking a glance at the independent wrestling scene in my home state of Maryland, you will be hard pressed to find any legitimate promotions other than Maryland Championship Wrestling.
Maryland Championship Wrestling held its first show on July 19, 1998, and has since become one of the leading independent promotions on the east coast of the United States.
Over the years, many wrestlers have graced the MCW ring. MCW has played host to legends such as Jerry "The King" Lawler, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, The Road Warriors, "Sensational" Sherri Martel, and Eddie Guerrero; journeymen such as Headbanger Mosh, Sabu, Jerry Lynn, Chris ...
Inside The Mind With Dr Hayley: Cryme Tyme
On August - 10 - 2009
Another day, another nutcase in the office. Shame it isn't a wrestler this time.
Stan has been going absolutely mental since I said I was going to get a temporary replacement for him. He's been running around, chucking paper on the floor, shouting about how he was never leaving.
Well, he is, if only for the time being. I told him this, and he flipped out. I literally had to push him out the door.
He still hasn't left. He's been peering through the window, watching the goings on.
It's starting to get creepy.
Fortunately, my worries were interrupted by the ...
WWE Referee’s: The Stupidest People I Have Ever Seen.
On August - 9 - 2009
First off, I want you all to understand that I am old enough to understand that the WWE is fake and everything is written by the so-called "creative" team.
By all means, I understand that the refs get paid to look like idiots in front of the whole wide world.
The WWE creative team always likes to make the heel cheat and the face (John Cena, Jeff Hardy, etc.) look like heroes that have been cheated. One way to do this is to have the referee be involved.
What I don't get is why they make it so that the referee is trying ...
Spotlighting the Indies: “The Phoenix” Jody Fleisch
On August - 9 - 2009
Preface: I just want to thank Matthew, James, and Scott for setting up this amazing series and allowing me to take part in it! In my spotlights, I will be focusing on the best of the British Indy wrestling circuit, starting off with my personal favourite!
If you said high-fliers, who would you think about?
Would you think of the Lucha Libre stylings of Rey Mysterio? What about the daredevil antics of people like Jeff Hardy and Evan Bourne?
There is one man who could blow all of these athletes out of the water with his incredible, awe-inspiring and downright death-defying moves.
His name ...
Big Update on WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy: Is He Staying or Going?
On August - 9 - 2009
In a very surprising story, it seems Jeff Hardy may be staying with the WWE. Many thought that Hardy would leave after Summerslam considering he just signed a one-month deal with the WWE through the event.
However, the WWE may have struck some sort of deal or they may be close to one because the creative team has been told to plan storylines after Summerslam and through September for the Charismatic Enigma, according to ewrestlingnews.com.
His current deal ends basically the day after Summerslam, so if the WWE is indeed planning storylines through September for him, he would have to have ...
Exclusive: McMahon-Russo Plot Revealed
On August - 9 - 2009
I was instructed to be on level three of a nearby carpark at exactly 3.30 p.m. yesterday.
The piece of paper with this court message, dredged from words and letters from various magazine clippings, gave me no clue as to whom...or what to look for when I had gotten there.
Often its only a hunch, an instinct that leads to the big payoffs in my profession and in this regard, yesterday's date with destiny was no different...It was simply a hunch that brought me there on that wet afternoon.
As an aspiring investigative journalist, I had by now become well aware of the stakes on the line in these kinds of ...
Another Win For WWE’s Friday Night Smackdown
On August - 8 - 2009
In a Friday Night Smackdown that was full of surprises and some interesting twists and turns, WWE has proven again that they can put together a winning show with the talent they have.
I Wished their creative team would pay a visit to Monday Night Raw, but I digress and should get on with the review of last night's show.
CM Punk continues to gather heat, and for the ROH fans, you know he is a much better heel than face, hands down.
It is somewhat controversial having the "bad guy" be the one who doesn't drink, do drugs, or any other "sin" ...

Queen of the Ring: New Book Introduces Mildred Burke, Women’s Wrestling Pioneer
On August - 8 - 2009
Buried deep in the annals of women’s professional wrestling history, hidden beneath the glitz and glamour of modern-day showmanship, lays the story of a true pioneer, one who paved a path for generations of competitors to follow.
Known as Muscles and the Kansas Cyclone, Mildred Burke dedicated her life to professional wrestling, creating and often struggling to maintain an outlet and opportunity for women to persevere in a sport dominated by muscle-bound, chauvinistic men.
Set against a scene of a Great Depression Era New Mexico Indian reservation, a young Burke, born Mildred Bliss on Aug. 5, 1915, found herself 18 years old, ...
Chase’s Lists: How to Fix Monday Night Raw in Five Easy Steps
On August - 8 - 2009
Well with all the Blue Jays news and other occurances I have kinda neglected my lists feature, so I decided to step it up with a first time occurance. Yes this will be my first ever Pro Wrestling article on Bleacher Report.
It is hard to believe because I am a wrestling fan and watch Monday Night Raw religously since I was a kid. Lately I have been noticing a scary change in the way it is being presented though.
Monday Night Raw has became Mad TV. With B-List "Hosts" somehow being given control over the brand, it lacks all believability and ...
