Breaking It Down: D-Generation X’s WWE Impact and Return, Can You Say Ratings?
On August - 4 - 2009
After much speculation from wrestling rumor sites, the WWE has started a small storyline to build up HBK Shawn Michaels WWE return. For those who don't know, Michaels has been MIA since his Wrestlemania match with the Undertaker.
Last night on RAW after Triple H's loss to Legacy he told the WWE RAW crowd that he feels he cannot get it done alone; that he needs to start a group up. He comically threw out the prospect of seeing an Evolution return, then he said he would make just one phone call. He then said, "If your not down with ...
The Countdown to Summerfest: A Review of the Worst Raw in Recent Memory
On August - 4 - 2009
All right World Wrestling Entertainment, I have seen enough.
I have defended you relentlessly. I have enjoyed some of the same shows that have been bashed brutally by Internet wrestling critics everywhere.
I have no reason to come to your defense tonight.
Tonight, I settled in to watch Monday Night Raw. I know that it is no longer the tremendous wrestling show that Smackdown is and that I will often see the same stale mega stars further push back promising young talent but something about Monday nights still attracts me. Maybe it is the glamour of the flagship show or the build-up of a ...
Justin Young’s “Past vs. Present” No. 1
On August - 3 - 2009
Of course we all have at some point heard of the "Super Fight", in which a computer-simulated boxing match between Rocky Marciano and Muhammad Ali, two undefeated former heavyweight champions, took place to see who would be crowned the greatest of all time.
Then in Rocky Balboa, ESPN hosted a fictional show called "Then and Now", to see how two athletes from different times would fare against each other (in their prime).
Now, WWE.com has an E-Vote addition to their page, asking who would win in a one-on-one match: Shaq or the Big Show, with Shaq getting the popular vote.
What I want ...
What If the WWE Was More Like UFC?
On August - 3 - 2009
What would the WWE be like if it was more like the UFC than a male version of Young and the Restless?
Really, think about it. Imagine a world where the WWE reigned supreme as the hard nosed brawling show that the UFC is. Half of the stars wouldn't even make it through one night.
Put Rey Mysterio in the ring with Brock Lesnar, what would you think would happen? The man would literally kill him. Bring some reality to the WWE and half of the superstars would run to their mommies.
I would enjoy seeing an infusion of real-time fighting in ...
Seven Steps TNA Should Take To Improve The Current Product
On August - 3 - 2009
A little more than a month ago, I wrote an article stating seven steps that WWE should take to improve their current product. After seeing the state TNA has been in, I decided that they are in heavy need of something similar. (Now if only Dixie could see this list).
A majority of TNA fans have refused to believe that TNA is rapidly decaying before their eyes. Their hatred of the WWE and complete and utter devotion to TNA has made them blind to the truth: That their own TNA is currently no better, and in fact can't hold a candle ...
We Will Not Live Our Lives In Fear: WWE After 9/11
On August - 3 - 2009
I was eleven years old when the world was caught off guard, as I—along with millions of people—watched the destruction of the World Trade Center.
My mom in tears, my dad shocked, my family in disarray .
I remember coming home from school on that day, as we were sent home early due to what we saw. September 12th, 2001 was the longest and slowest day of my life and it was one of the saddest.
As Thursday came around I was hoping to see SmackDown and for the first time my mom sat there with me as we saw Vince McMahon open ...
TNA is Cleaning House: Could the Latest Shake-Ups Improve Its Product?
On August - 3 - 2009
Rumors always run rampant through the Internet wrestling community, and fans have not been at a loss for discussion topics since reports broke that TNA founder Jeff Jarrett was allegedly shacking up with Karen Angle.
At first, no one knew what to think or—in the spirit of TNA's willingness to exploit such emotional topics as the death of Jarrett's wife—what to believe.
Was this all part of a big storyline leading to yet another feud between Jarrett and Karen's ex-husband, Olympic gold medalist and current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle.
Or was this a situation of reality being stranger than fiction? After ...
Note To Vince: Bury The Hatchet Already
On August - 3 - 2009
There is an old saying "time heals all wounds." 14 years have passed and wrestling fans are the ones stuck with the gash.
Vinnie Mac, a kiss and make up session is long overdue between you and the Macho Man Randy Savage. It's up to you and you alone to get this done.
Debuting at No. 1, the Macho Madness DVD was an instant hit. Fans jumped at the release of owning all the great matches of one of the 80s biggest stars, despite the DVD missing one key extra—live commentary from the man himself.
Lanny Poffo, Macho Man's brother, told ...
The Best WWE Superstars of the 90′s
On August - 3 - 2009
The 90's saw a change in the WWE (formerly WWF). The world of professional wrestling hit the mainstream. Vince McMahon successfully created a brand with the help of these 5 superstars. Without these guys the WWE as we know it would not be the same. The WWE has rightfully taken over Monday, and Friday Nights as a ratings hog, with the talent that I have listed.
Who Will You Vote For As The Greatest Women’s Wrestling Champion Ever?
On August - 3 - 2009
Many days ago I asked for all those interested in taking part in a large Creature versus Creature project to contact me.
The topic: Who is the Greatest Women's Champion in Wrestling History?
I decided to add the stipulation that I would exclude Fabulous Moolah, as she tends to be the one most give the title to.
Those who took part did a wonderful job making a claim for their respective choices. It is now up to you, Wrestling Community, to decide who did the best job.
Below I will list the articles one last time so everyone's submissions can be reviewed. Once you ...
