Breaking News: More Info on Rey Mysterio Drug Suspension

Posted by Jesse Mitchell On August - 30 - 2009
After some more information from an "inside the business" friend, I did some really intense research and want to add what I found to the two stories already posted about Rey Mysterio's suspension. For a recap, Rey Mysterio was found in violation of World Wrestling Entertainment's Wellness policy. He was therefore suspended for 30 days, beginning on Sept. 2. On doing some research, I discovered that this is not Rey's first brush with the law concerning prescription drugs. We all remember too well the tragedy of Chris Benoit. What we do not know, or at least I did not, was that in the ...

Revolution of Wrestling: The Mexican Wrestling Wars

Posted by Hayley-L Graham On August - 29 - 2009
Preface: This piece is not only my tribute to one of the greatest wars in the history of professional wrestling, but is also my newest "Spotlighting the Indies" article. Hey, might as well kill two birds with one stone, right? Either way, sit back, relax, and enjoy this journey, because it is one bumpy ride!   The wrestling world has been the stage for some of the greatest wars in sports entertainment history. The Monday Night Wars, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. the McMahons, The Montreal Screwjob, and, to a lesser extent, the budding competition between WWE and TNA. However, in one wrestling world, ...

Big WWE News: WWE Going After TNA and ROH Talent?

Posted by Joe Burgett On August - 29 - 2009
It is obvious that the WWE is not the only promotion out there with a ton of great talent. In fact, some believe TNA and ROH has the best wrestlers, its just that the WWE has a lot more money and is better business wise, which is why their wrestlers are far more famous than a lot of ROH and TNA talent. The WWE knows that this is true, which is why they are going after a lot of this talent. As I have mentioned in a previous article, ROH is starting to go out of business. This is one reason one of ...

Rob Van Dam in Talks About Coming to TNA Wrestling!

Posted by Joe Burgett On August - 28 - 2009
While there is nothing set in stone, there is a rumor that TNA Wrestling is in talks with former WWE and ECW Champion Rob Van Dam about coming in. RVD is still in good graces with the WWE, even though he left shortly after violating the WWE's Wellness Policy. He basically came back after the 60-day suspension, and then all of the sudden, he was gone. But, he has been saying that he wants to go back to wrestling; he just does not want to have the same schedule he had before. If he went back to the WWE, he would obviously have ...
It is 100 percent true that Rey Mysterio, the WWE's current Intercontinental Champion is going to be suspended for 30 days for violating the WWE's Wellness Policy starting next Wednesday. This is not going to sit well with him, as he has been in contract disputes with the WWE for a while now. I personally think this is a little much for Mysterio to get past, because now he has no leverage in contract negotiations. It also means that he should, and will drop the IC Title to Dolph Ziggler. SPOILER ALERT: They were going to have Ziggler/Mysterio 3 at Breaking Point. ...
According to WWE.com, Smackdown! superstar and current Intercontinental champion Rey Mysterio has violated the Wellness Policy. He will be suspended, effective Sept. 2. This is not a good time for the WWE to lose a top star and merchandise seller, as they are set to lose Jeff Hardy on Friday nights as well.   My Take Many should know that I am not a fan of "Rey Rey," as I find him extremely stale. Mysterio, a la WCW, was entertaining. WWE's Mysterio? Not so much. For the past two months Mysterio was embroiled in a feud with the young upstart Dolph Ziggler for the IC ...

Big Jeff Hardy News Update: WWE Career, Reality TV, and More!

Posted by Joe Burgett On August - 27 - 2009
For those of you who like to watch SmackDown every week without seeing SPOILERS of any kind, I want to let you know that there is a SPOILER inside. So even though it is an obvious one, you have been warned. At the SmackDown taping this past week, there was a Steel Cage Match between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Championship. The match turned out to be bigger than we thought. Not only was it for the Championship, but also for their career. The match turned out to be a Loser Leaves the WWE match, and Hardy ended ...

A Breath of Dead Air? Undertaker Vs. CM Punk

Posted by Alberto Cortez On August - 27 - 2009
CM Punk is coming off a tremendous feud with "The Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy, which I rated in my previous article, and it looks the WWE Universe is now going to be treated to a CM Punk/Undertaker feud. CM Punk is currently at the top of the heap on Smackdown and in recent months due to his rivalry with Hardy he has transformed into a great heel. CM Punk became over-confident, self-righteous, preachy, but he is also cynical and ruthless. After a three-month back and forth title chase with Hardy, which was entertaining while it lasted, I for one welcome the changing landscape ...

DX and Legacy Go at It Head On. Guess Who Had To Suck It!

Posted by lee raydean On August - 26 - 2009
The boys are back with a vengance and they proved that they can still dish it out and take it. DX was amazing on RAW this week. Mr. McMahon came to the ring when the show started. He made a few announcements and said that celebrity host for the night was none other than the greatest boxer of all time, Floyd "Money" Mayweather. The fans and Vince were waiting for his arrival. In the meantime, DX came out to wish Vince happy birthday. Doing their usual goofy and funny antics, they had a few of the stage hands bring out a cake. From ...

Out of the Shadows: Spotlighting the Wrestling Referees

Posted by Shane H. On August - 26 - 2009
One of the greatest sights on this planet can be a professional wrestling match. The theatrics, athleticism, and sometimes shocking twists that go on in a match can leave one breathless. Those men and women who sweat and bleed (non WWE talent nowadays) can be larger than life figures. Yet, all of this cannot function without a key component. That component is usually taken for granted and cast in the background. Yet, the very act of being unseen is a testament to how well these individuals do their job. Who am I speaking of? Do the names Tommy Young, Nick Patrick, Earl Hebner, ...
