Questions Left Unanswered After SummerSlam

Posted by Faysal Shehail On August - 25 - 2009
Last night the WWE had the third of their "Top Four" PPV's of 2009, Summerslam. It was a fine PPV with quality matches and nice outcomes. We witnessed only one title change last night when CM Punk defeated Jeff Hardy to reclaim "his" World Heavyweight championship , Randy Orton retained the WWE champioinship after defeating John Cena, Rey Mysterio defeating Dolph Ziggler to retain the Intercontinental championship, and D-Generation X defeated The Legacy. However, alot of questions have troubled my mind after watching the "Biggest Party Of The Summer", and here are a few of them...Begin Slideshow

DX Tanks Legacy, War Not Over

Posted by Chris DiFrancesco On August - 24 - 2009
It was one of the most intriguing pay-per-views in a long time for World Wrestling Entertainment. Not since Wrestlemania 25 in April, has WWE produced an all-around fun ppv event. Summerslam gave the WWE Universe exactly what they have craved for a long time now, they delivered an awesome ppv at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The night was headlined by the legendary Degeneration-X as they took on Legacy members Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. Words are hard to come by when trying to explain the entrance that DX makes when heading to the ring. It has few rivals when it comes to ...

Inside The Mind With Dr Hayley: Ric Flair

Posted by Hayley Graham On August - 24 - 2009
The whole office had been slow this week! It seemed like it was going to be an ordinary time for once! Marina kept getting phone calls from Jericho's obscenely expensive lawyer; something about a harassment complaint. She kept telling him he had the wrong office, saying he needed a Mr. Angle; I forget to be honest. I had this man turn up at the door, something about representing a potential client. This peaked my interest, along with the promise of a large pay check, so I told them to send him in at the end of the week. Well, now, ...

ROH Against the WWE? Don’t Fool Yourselves, Wrestling Fans

Posted by Joe Burgett On August - 24 - 2009
For those who don't know, Ring Of Honor is the best independent promotion in the entire world. That is of course my personal opinion, but I have never seen anyone who knows wrestling dispute it. Of course while it is thought of as an indy promotion, many are considering it a major company, since it has finally made it to TV. I don't think it is too far fetched to call those in ROH pros. They may be considered indy guys, but they are on TV, have DVDs, and have other merchandise like TNA and the WWE. So can we really say they ...

WWE SummerFestSlam Has Highs and One Severe Low

Posted by Ian Robinett On August - 24 - 2009
Let me preface this by saying that this is really an article about my feelings towards the absolute abomination that was the Cena-Orton match, but it's disguised as a pseudo-recap of SummerSlam. In what was supposed to be the biggest event since Wrestlemania, SummerSlam delivered some memorable moments.Sadly, there were both good and bad memorable moments. To begin at the top of the card, the WWE is severely trying to push over Dolph Ziggler as a upper mid-card talent.  It isn't hard to see that "Nicky" is the most talented Spirit Squad member, but the character is just a bore.Rey Mysterio is ...

WWE SummerSlam Switchback: The Darkness Returns!

Posted by Ron Johnson On August - 24 - 2009
Last night left more questions than answers. From McMahon's countless attempts to dethrone Randy Orton to a Phenom-enal return at the end of the night, Summerslam was a night of hits...and misses. With that, here's the rewind from last night's Biggest Party of the Summer! Before Summerslam begins, DX is up to their usual antics as they play around with the preview. After breaking the tape, DX tries to fix the problem. Following an unsuccessful attempt to fix it, Triple H makes it clear that the fans got the message: WE’RE BACK! The show finally goes live in The City of Angels to ...

“Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig: The Epitome of Perfection

Posted by Ross Rutherford On August - 23 - 2009
The son of Larry "The Ax" Hennig. One of the most gifted in-ring technicians of all time. The best wrestler to never hold a major World Championship and thus wore the WWF's Intercontinental Championship like it should be a World Title. A guy who was years ahead of his time and a man who went too soon. A lovable, charismatic, talented man who entertained millions of people though out his career and gave wrestling purists a smile every time he was in the ring because of his limitless talent. The man we all know as Mr. Perfect. Curtis Michael Hennig better known ...

WWE Summerslam Preview: Can You Stand the Heat?

Posted by Ron Johnson On August - 23 - 2009
The WWE is on a collision course with TNA as both promotions are having one of their biggest events in the City of Angels. With Bound For Glory set for LA in October, the WWE returns to the Staples Center. But there is no Nuggets vs. Lakers rivalry happening in this showdown. Instead, we get the biggest party of the summer topped off with the return of the biggest faction in WWE History, the return of one of the most dangerous matches in WWE History and the return of one of the biggest rivalries in WWE History. With that, here is the ...

Flashback: Wrestlemania X-Seven

Posted by Matthew Maloney On August - 23 - 2009
On April 1, 2001 in Houston, Texas, the WWF hosted in my esteemed (okay, let's face it, probably worthless) opinion the finest event/card in its amazing history. Packed to the rafters with 68,000 baying fans (breaking the attendance record for the Reliant in the process), Wrestlemania 17 is widely considered by many, the closing curtain and last hurrah of the so-called Attitude Era. I've since personally come to see the event as a symbolic ending to the last time I could say wrestling was mainstream enough to be considered 'cool' (or one of the last times I could admit being a fan!); the beginning of a slow and painful decline for ...
