WWE’s All-American Has Swagger

Posted by Fred Richani On September - 24 - 2009
It's no secret to any die-hard WWE fan. The RAW brand has been lacking freshness this year. Please, hear me out. I mean that in the nicest way possible. We all grew up watching RAW, but the last few months have been anything but that. The show is supposed to be cutting edge and bad ass. Yes, the guest host gimmick is pretty cool and huge kudos to WWE for garnering mainstream exposure. Also, kudos to WWE for finally giving Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes some much needed credibility. It's just as nice to see Kofi Kingston having a United States ...

WWE Picks Sharpton: Can I Get an Amen?

Posted by Matt Algarin On September - 23 - 2009
WWE fans will be in for an..."interesting" night next week on Monday Night Raw. Live from Albany, NY, the Rev. Al Sharpton will be invading your television sets, as the special guest host for the night. From my point of view it may be hard for Sharpton to follow in the shoes of Cedric The Entertainer—who was hilarious by the way. The Rev is a man of many hats. He is a civil rights activist, an American Baptist Minister, and radio talk show host. Sharpton threw his hat into the Democratic bid for president back in 2004. This choice is very intersting for ...

Breaking News: Bret Hart Returning to the WWE?

Posted by Joe Burgett The BR Superstar On September - 23 - 2009
In what I can only say is the weirdest turn of events of all time, there is some shocking news coming out today. According to the most credible wrestling news source out there today in the Wrestling Observer, Bret Hart has claimed he is open to returning to the WWE as a weekly storyline character. Some like myself who know the story with Hart are more shocked than those who don't. But let me refresh the minds of those who know, and tell the ones who do not know what happened with Bret Hart and the WWE. There was a match between ...

Is Vince Russo Actually Good for TNA Wrestling?

Posted by Joe Burgett The BR Superstar On September - 23 - 2009
I know by the title of the article, I may get bashers before they even read the article. We all know of Vince Russo and how he has been a cancer to any promotion he has been a part of, but it seems lately he is actually helping Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). About two months ago, it was found out through Bubba the Love Sponge Radio show that Karen Angle (former wife of Kurt Angle) was living with Jeff Jarrett. Someone claiming to be an employee of TNA called in, and Bubba quickly wanted to dispute what the man was ...

WWE RAW Rewind: The Head Games Continue…

Posted by Ron Johnson On September - 21 - 2009
RAW opens up in Little Rock, Ark., with the arrival of the Gateway Entourage, the Bella Twins and tonight’s Guest Host, Cedric the Entertainer. With that, the show goes live with the arrival of DX!   Triple H w/Shawn Michaels vs. Cody Rhodes w/Ted DiBiase Following their usual opening promos, and after giving their resume about Hell in the Cell, the physicality begins. Thanks to a distraction, Cody gets the upper hand. Cody takes the fight from pillar to post, which is exactly where Cody’s shoulder is introduced to not once, not twice but three times. Triple H locks in a Crossface. Back in the ...

808s and Back Breaks?: Rumor Has It Kanye West Is Coming to a WWE Ring

Posted by Morgan Carter On September - 21 - 2009
A rumor has surfaced from the website MediaTakeout.com, reporting that Kanye West has been offered $10 million to appear at three WWE events. Here's a portion of the rumor: "According to reports sent by pro wrestling insiders to MediaTakeOut.com, Vince McMahon and the WWE have offered Kanye close to $10 million to show up at three events: two television appearances and one pay-per-view event.  "Word is that if he accepts the offer, Kanye would have to do some light wrestling.  And get this, MediaTakeOut.com is hearing that Kanye is seriously considering it." WWE will be hoping to create a similar impact that ...

Batista: Please Don’t Ruin Smackdown

Posted by Faysal Shehail On September - 21 - 2009
We all heard about Batista's "career altering announcement" on Raw. And it turns out the the only career he will be altering is the career of the numerous up-and-coming stars on Smackdown. And in his first week upon his return, Batista has squashed both the No. 1 contender for the WWE title, Randy Orton, and one half of the unified tag-team champions, Chris Jericho. We all know Vince McMahon's vision of big, powerful men as marketing tools, with total disregard of their in-ring abilities or charisma, and there isn't a greater example of that than Dave Batista. Haven't you ever heard of the ...
Okay, we all know AJ Styles has been a World Champion before in TNA. However, he has yet to hold the TNA World Heavyweight Title. He did win the NWA/TNA Title, but that was well over four years ago. Do you see that number? Four freaking years ago. See, AJ Styles, considered one of the best wrestlers in the world today, was massively misused in TNA for almost half a decade. Why? Because TNA thought it had to put the old, tired veterans in the World Title spotlight. This was and still is very wrong. Guys like Mick Foley are no longer believable ...

B/R Wrestling Section Competition: The Results

Posted by Joe Burgett On September - 20 - 2009
First off, I'd like to thank all of you who contributed to the competition. Like I mentioned in the last article, this was one of the best writing competitions I have seen or been a part of in some time. Everyone can agree that all of the articles were written well, and made great arguments for their wrestlers. However, THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE! That's right, one winner; one person who got everyone, or most of us, to go to their side. Many articles got votes, some more than others, but one article seemed to get every other voter to vote for ...

A Part of the Family: A Look Back at the Original Hart Foundation

Posted by Hayley-L Graham On September - 20 - 2009
Every so often, the masses of wrestling fans are occasionally treated to a small slice of history. It doesn't happen very often, but sometimes we are lucky enough to bear witness to a moment which truly changes the face of the industry. Anything can be the focus of our attention, from one single match to a whole decade, from one wrestler to a whole group of performers. They all have the same effect on us. They become measuring sticks for our image of the business, focal points for years to come, and moments which remind us of the reason we spend part of ...
