Impact? Let Me Tell You The Wrestler Who Impacted Them All!

Posted by George Peterson On September - 17 - 2009
"I remember when..."—Those dreaded words, I would argue, that every human being hears at least one time in their life. Usually the words are uttered by someone whose skin is a little more worn and wrinkled than your own. The knowledge about to be bestowed sits inside a head covered by one of three things: thinning white hairs, a bad toupee or wig to cling on to a final, vain grasp of vanity or an unnatural shine reminiscent of the glare you see from a car sitting in a showroom. Have I lost you yet? It's funny really, because as much as we all want to ...

Lou Thesz: The Man Who Made the Biggest Impact on Pro Wrestling

Posted by Joe Burgett On September - 17 - 2009
Lou Thesz is considered the grandfather of professional wrestling, yet he is overlooked when we think about the best of all-time. This is especially true when we think about who made the biggest impact in the sport. Why is that so? Possibly because the only people who remember what Thesz did was your grandparents or anyone else who grew up in the '30s, '40s, '50s, or '60s. He retired in 1979, but he continued to referee and wrestle on and off until 1990. He was easily an ironman in the world of pro wrestling.Thesz is probably one of the more important men ...

Posted by Andrea Claire On September - 17 - 2009
*WARNING: THE FOLLOWING COMPETITION ENTRY IS RATED R*     Attention members of the Bleacher Report Jury, all rise, court is now in session.   I will begin with an opening statement addressing the other members of the prosecution and continue with my statement to you, the distinguished members of the jury.   Counselors, put down your pens, don’t bother sharpening your pencils, and please spare us from the monotonous, droning, history lesson that nobody cares about!    Members living outside of the pro-wrestling community…fear not!    I am not here to cast a spell or attempt to convert you.   Much like the sport of which I am a fan; I am ...

Hey, WWE, What Are You Doing to Randy Orton?

Posted by Mike Salvatore On September - 16 - 2009
The WWE has been building Randy Orton up over the last several months as the top heel in the company. He has feuded with and “sidelined” several big names, including Triple H, Batista, and Vince McMahon.   All that work has evaporated over the course of 48 hours.   On Sunday night, Orton lost his title to John Cena at Breaking Point. The fact that Orton lost his title is not the problem; it’s that he lost it in a match he had no chance of winning; an “I Quit” match.   Of course the WWE wants to put the belt on Cena because he is ...

Revolution of Wrestling: The Impact of the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles

Posted by Hayley-L Graham On September - 16 - 2009
The power of a Tiger. The speed of a Gazelle. The heart of a Lion and the resiliency of a Phoenix. There is no denying the impact AJ Styles has had on the wrestling business, but it was a fairytale career that almost didn't play out.   In the beginning Growing up in Gainesville, Georgia, Allen Jones never knew of the world of professional wrestling. Unlike many of today's stars, he couldn't play out what he say on the screen with his brothers, he couldn't go to the shows and cheer on the performers. His family could not afford cable television. He lived a simple life, ...

Linda McMahon To Lay The Smackdown On Senator Dodd’s Candy Ass

Posted by Josh McCain On September - 16 - 2009
This just in!  According to Fox News Linda McMahon is seeking the Republican nomination for the United States Senate in Connecticut. If she were to be nominated, she would be pitted in a head to head grudge match against incumbent Senator Christopher Dodd. Linda has served as the WWE's CEO since May of 1997.  In a statement released Wednesday she said Washington "is out of control" and that Dodd has "lost their trust." Linda, I think I speak for everyone here at Bleacher Report when I say good luck!Read more Pro Wrestling news on BleacherReport.com

Joe’s 411: B/R Pro-Wrestling News Special Edition

Posted by Joe Burgett On September - 16 - 2009
Welcome to a special edition of Joe's 411: B/R Pro-Wrestling News. I saw that there was a ton of news out there, and I couldn't write a ton of articles cluttering up B/R to be fair to others, so, I decided to do the 411 instead.   The Reason Batista is Heading to SmackDown Many people were surprised that Batista announced he was going back to SmackDown; however, to the people who know his past, it makes sense. He could possibly retire in the spring when his contract ends, as he has been saying off and on in interviews. The RAW schedule is very ...

In some shocking news, it was announced that Hulk Hogan and surprise...Eric Bischoff are planning a tour of Australia in November. It is titled Hulkamania: Let the Battle Begin  and will feature some top free agents in pro wrestling today performing on four shows. Some of the superstars set to appear include former WWE superstars Mr. Kennedy, Umaga, and "I did it for The Rock" Rikishi. And if anybody cares, former WWE developmental diva Lacey Von Erich is also set to appear. Several of Hogan's friends, including DDP and the Nasty Boys are rumored to appear too. But the biggest news rumored for the event is that Ric ...
Flashback to last month's TNA Hard Justice Pay Per View and the Internet wrestling community was abuzz, because of the arrest and charges leveled against TNA champion Kurt Angle. Many, including myself, thought that TNA would take the belt off the Olympic hero due to the ongoing investigations. I won't lie, I was all for Angle losing the belt as well. Why? Because I am tired of seeing mega stars run roughshod through their companies without any sort of consequences. Have him drop the belt at HJ and after the court hearings he can get back in the title hunt, if found innocent. Well, ...

Big Jeff Hardy Update: Going To Jail For 14 Years?

Posted by Joe Burgett On September - 15 - 2009
For almost a week now, the wrestling world has heard nothing except Jeff Hardy news. For those who don't know, Jeff Hardy was arrested a few days ago for drug possession. His home was raided by police after they received an anonymous tip that he had illegal drugs in his home. It turned out that he had a number of drugs in his home, from anabolic steroids to cocaine. He was supposedly bailed out by his brother Matt, but Jeff disputed that claim through Twitter, so no one is sure who really bailed him out other than Hardy himself ...
