Breaking News: Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff Sign With TNA Wrestling

Posted by Joe Burgett On October - 27 - 2009
In a very weird story, it was just announced by TNA that they signed WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan today.  There is a teaser video out online already for his TNA debut, which could be as soon as next week. One would think he wouldn't be on Thursday, seeing as TNA already taped that program.  There was a rumor that TNA was going to tape another program next Tuesday, but that is not confirmed. In any case, this comes as a shock to many.  I wrote a piece on Hogan after I heard a rumor of him signing with TNA a ...

Breaking News: Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff Sign With TNA; What’s Next?

Posted by Hayley-L Graham On October - 27 - 2009
In a press conference held today, it has been announced that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff have officially signed with TNA. Despite some negative comments directed towards TNA earlier in the year, it has been rumored that Hogan and Bischoff were looking to make a return to wrestling, with TNA being their target over the past few months. It is no surprise that there have been some past issues between both men and certain TNA workers, most notably Vince Russo, so it should be noted that very few members of TNA management knew of the deal until it went down. Once the contracts ...

WWE Gets It Right: Kofi Kingston’s Time to Shine Is Now

Posted by Jeremiah Graves On October - 26 - 2009
Mark your calendars, ladies and gentlemen.   Oct. 26, 2009 is a day that will live in infamy.   Today is the day the WWE built a superstar in one night.   Tonight on RAW, the WWE gave Kofi Kingston the ball and he damn sure looks ready to run with it.   Since his debut, Kingston has been saddled with a horrible Jamaican gimmick that no one was really sold on, but people were willing to overlook it because of his in-ring ability.   Unfortunately—as we’ve seen with many talented superstars in the past—great in-ring skills and a dead-in-the-water gimmick don’t generally combine to make main event talent.   Kingston has ...

WWE Bragging Rights 2009 Prediction Competition Results

Posted by Hayley-L Graham On October - 26 - 2009
So, Bragging Rights has been and gone, and what a night! Not only did Team Smackdown come out on top to win the brand competition, but Undertaker retained his title, Batista turned heel, and John Cena lost Shane his bet . What does this mean though for all you brave Bleacher Creatures who took the plunge and decided to put your pride on the line in a bid to be crowned the most accurate soothsayer? Well, not only did we have yet another humiliating 0 points, but we got TWO perfect scores, making this three PPVs in a row where someone has ...

John Cena, I Hate You For Winning; Joe Burgett, You Won

Posted by Shane H. On October - 26 - 2009
It is the rivalry to end all rivalries. It wasn’t just a rivalry, it was the rivalry. (Or so they say.)  It goes beyond the physical world. The disdain runs deeper than the river Nile. October 25th, 2009 was the day that everything came to a head. All that was needed was for one man to lose, for John “The True Teflon Don” Cena to friggin’ lay down.  A loss to his opponent Randy “I Have Great Facial Expressions but My Best Attribute is Being John Cena’s Bitch” Orton was all I asked for. A loss that would ...

Where Does the WWE Go after Bragging Rights?

Posted by Kenneth Fagan On October - 26 - 2009
Bragging Rights, on a whole, for me, was an extremely predictable PPV. John Cena wasn't going to leave Raw, Big Show obviously wasn't going to get a face turn while he was still Tag Team Champ with Y2J, and Batista's heel turn was evidently going to happen sooner or later. But, anyways, this isn't about Bragging Rights. This is now about Survivor Series. Survivor Series is the third longest running PPV in WWE history, behind Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble, so let's jump in.   Bragging Rights Match No. 1: U.S. Champion The Miz vs. Intercontinental Champion John Morrsion This one, I don't see going on ...
Last night while watching WWE Bragging Rights, I was a bit skeptical. Before the PPV, I kind of saw how things would play out in my mind. I was surprised though, which is something I like the WWE to do. I thought with all the talk about RAW being the better show, that SmackDown would come out and win. The ace in the hole was Chris Jericho's tag partner, and RAW team member, Big Show. We all should have seen it coming, those who didn't should really be ashamed if you ask me. Simply because Jericho and Show are freakin tag partners ...

John Cena May Have Won, But It Was the Viper Who Stole the Show

Posted by Captain Charisma On October - 26 - 2009
WWE Bragging Rights, the first PPV of its kind, was a mixed bag. The first match of the night was between former tag team champions; The Miz and John Morrison. The match was solid, but I was left feeling a bit disappointed because these two could produce so much more. I was pleasantly surprised that The Miz picked up the win. The second match of the night was the Team Raw Vs. Team Smackdown 3-on-3 Divas match. The result was a foregone conclusion with the score having to be evened out so the decider would be the 7-on-7 Raw Vs. Smackdown main ...

Why Doth Thou Torment Me So? (Or, John Cena Wins At Bragging Rights)

Posted by Nick Haynes On October - 25 - 2009
Pardon me if I'm not up-to-date on the latest storylines.  I'm in my first semester of law school, so it can be a little rough.  (Not to mention, it gives me a nice excuse to avoid watching WWE's excuse for "wrestling" nowadays.)  But when I heard that John Cena might be leaving Raw, something motivated me to tune in and watch.  At first, I thought it might be hope that Raw's product would be re-invigorated by the absence of Cena and the Five Moves of Doom.  Then I was thinking it might be the chance that new and fresh talent might be ...
