Is WWE Diva Mickie James a Falling Star?

Posted by Kenneth Fink On October - 14 - 2009
WWE Diva Mickie James is headed to Friday night Smackdown as part of a tri-branded WWE diva swap. Before the trade was announced Mickie lost her Divas Championship to Jillian Hall in a very poorly executed match that was supposed to look as if Jillian cheated by using the ropes during the pin. After the match it was announced that Melina was headed to Raw and initially I wondered how the two "face" divas would be able to co-exist on the same show. But my curiosity was cured after the show ended when we found out that Mickie was headed to Smackdown. Mickie's ...

Farewell Lou Albano: A Tribute to the Captain

Posted by Matthew Hester On October - 14 - 2009
Hello, everyone. As always, I would like to thank all of you for joining me today.   I know I haven’t been writing much lately, but I felt it was only proper to come in and pay my respects to longtime legend Lou Albano.   For those of you too young to remember him, he was one of the true pioneers in the world of pro wrestling.   To us older fans, we remember Lou Albano as the manger whose attire consisted of tacky shirts and rubber bands. He was a key figure during the rock and wrestling connection in the '80s.   He was much more than ...

“One Big Clusterfunk”: Why the WWE’s 2009 Diva Draft Was Pointless

Posted by Ashley Morris On October - 14 - 2009
Clusterfunk. That's what I feel the WWE's "Diva Draft," was, which took place on last night's episode of RAW. And, as with several other writers on Bleacher Report, I want to give my two cents on the matter as well. Clusterfunk. The basic argument against this random and unimpressive roster shakeup by WWE Creative is that it leaves RAW without a dominant female heel. To be completely honest with you, I never thought of those particular ramifications of the draft; I was too busy salivating at the idea of a Beth Phoenix/Natalya match (which, much like most of my fantasies, probably won't ...
When I was watching RAW Monday, I saw something special. It was the fact that we had a woman by the name of Maria Menounos on the show. While I am by no means going to say her performance was a part of the greatest female contests I have ever seen in the squared circle, it wasn't bad given that she is not really a pro-wrestler. People should also remember that she hurt her hamstring while in training for her appearance, so she was out there doing more than what most would have thought. I personally knew she was getting into ...

Book Review: Are You Ready? The Unauthorized History of DX

Posted by Shane H. On October - 13 - 2009
Are you ready? I said, ARE YOU READY? Well, if you are a fan of D-Generation X, then you might be interested in checking out their book, Are You Ready? The Unauthorized History of DX, available at WWEshop.com (and other fine retailers). See what I did there? I learned how to properly plug merchandise by reading this book. Before even opening the front cover, readers are provided with classic DX humor with the book reviews found on the back. "A complex tale of redemption featuring a pair of modern American heroes embarking on a Homeric journey of self-discovery through an Orwellian dystopia. Oh, and ...

Big WWE Diva Trade: Some Good, Some Just Plain Stupid!

Posted by Joe Burgett The BR Superstar On October - 13 - 2009
As we heard on WWE RAW last night, Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell engineered a divas trade with the other GMs over the weekend. But of course, let's cut the kayfabe. O'Dell didn't really do this, it was all the WWE's doing. Some of the trades were made to help the brands out, because apparently the creative teams for both shows feel they have "done all they can do" with the female talent they had. Some of the trades make sense, because they can help out the rosters they went to. Others are quite stupid, and I feel they should not have been ...

WWE Confusion: Diva Draft Shakes Up the Divas

Posted by Christi Lott On October - 12 - 2009
Tonight I watched the most confusing five minutes I might've ever seen. Jillian gets a random title match against Divas Champion Mickie James, and actually wins! I was completely stunned and excited that the WWE would actually give Jillian the belt. She, to me, is a long-suffering great women's wrestler who's never been allowed to shine. I was shocked that Mickie got stripped of the belt in that manner, and legitimately had me concerned she was going bye bye. Even more shocking came guest host Nancy O'Dell coming out, announcing a Diva draft, and that RAW's newest member got an automatic title ...

WWE’s MVP is MWO: Most Wasted Opportunity

Posted by Fred Richani On October - 12 - 2009
So I'm watching RAW as I do every Monday night. My main man Jack Swagger just won a match to team up with RAW's top stars to face Smackdown's best at the brand war pay-per-view Bragging Rights. I should be ecstatic. I just wrote a column a couple weeks ago about how Swagger should be mixing it up in the main events. Now he's in a pay-per-view main event. Here's the thing. I should be happy, but I'm not. If you're wondering why, it's the fact that he beat Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) to qualify. You know, the same MVP that ...

Forgotten Classic Vol. Three: Christian vs Randy Orton

Posted by Captain Charisma On October - 11 - 2009
The wait is over my B/R peeps. It is the return of the legendary Forgotten Classics series written by B/R's own Captain Charisma. This week, I will relive a match between the formerly known Instant Classic Christian vs the formerly know Legend Killer, now going by The Viper, Randy Orton. Enjoy!! Raw, Feb. 14, 2005: Christian (with Tyson Tomko) vs. Randy Orton In 2005 Christian was the cocky, arrogant heel that the fans loved to hate and Randy Orton was in the midst of his (failed) face run since Evolution had turned on him. Both had seen their respective pushes falter; Randy ...

Could an Edge and Christian Reunion be Possible for WM 26?

Posted by Jessy Morris On October - 11 - 2009
A couple of months ago, Edge got injured while he was one half of the unified tag team champions along with Chris Jericho. Due to the injury, Jericho was forced to find a new tag team partner. That new partner was revealed to be The Big Show at Night Of Champions. Edge's injury also forced Jericho to turn his back on him saying that Edge was weak and not championship material enough to be his tag team partner. This incident left us a hint that Edge would return as a face, and right into a possible rivalry with Chris Jericho. Since ...
