Fight For Survival at The Series in D.C.

Posted by Alex Winstanley On November - 24 - 2009
The Verizon Centre, Washington D.C played host to the 23rd Annual Survivor Series on Sunday evening. Much of the build up had been surrounded by the twp triple threat matches for the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships. Also on the card, there were three traditional five-on-five elimination tag team matches, pitching several rivalries against each other. The only match that wasn't either an elimination tag team or championship match was the, somewhat surprise, bitter rivalry between two former best friends, Batista and Rey Mysterio. But first up was the team of The Miz (Captain), Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, and Jack Swagger ...

Sheamus to Challenge John Cena at TLC: I Have No Problem with That

Posted by Shane H. On November - 24 - 2009
I wanted to put this article off until tomorrow, when I had some sleep in me, but the outcries from the Internet Wrestling Community is as loud as some of the Rock's 500 dollar shirts. Tonight on RAW , the majority of the show was about giving fans something fresh. Guest host Jesse Ventura conducted a series of matches between individuals who have never been world champ to win qualifiers and get into the main event battle royal. The winner of the battle royal would get the No. 1 contender spot against John Cena at the Tables, Ladders, and Chair pay-per-view ...

WWE Selects the Worst Possible Oppenent for John Cena’s Title: Sheamus

Posted by Ryan Michael On November - 24 - 2009
After the disgust of seeing Randy Orton eliminated from the number one contender's battle royal, I got a little more ill after seeing who the WWE felt to be more worthy. Wait they didn't even push Kofi Kingston an additional inch towards the industry's greatest prize? No. And with as much as I'm disgusted with Kofi Kingston for eliminating Randy Orton, at least he would have put on a good match at Tables, Ladders, and Chairs . But the WWE had something very special planned for us on Monday night. They decided that they would rather destroy the next PPV than allow their fans to ...

The WWE Dropped the Ball with the Randy Orton/Kofi Kingston Rivalry

Posted by Ryan Michael On November - 23 - 2009
This rivalry had all of the potential in the world to succeed beyond measure but instead, it fell flat on its face. You'll have to forgive me as I have not had the time to track the B/R response to this rivalry, but I'm just going to go ahead and assume that most people would consider it a success. I wouldn't. But it's not because of my overwhelming bias for everything that is Randy Orton. Granted, I do feel that the most talented man in the industry deserves better, but not even I expect him to win all of the time. But allow me ...

Randy Orton vs Edge Monday Night Raw 2007: Forgotten Classic Vol. V

Posted by Captain Charisma On November - 23 - 2009
After a month long hiatus, the fabled Forgotten Classic series written by the biggest Peep in the world is back for the milestone of its fifth Volume. This edition was inspired by two of your fellow B/R Peeps; Andrea Claire and Miss Annie. These two are Edgeheads and Ortonites, respectively, and I thought I would give a shout out to these two by dedicating this next volume to Rated RKO, or more specifically, the implosion of Rated RKO 2007. So prepare to go down memory line and revisit a classic matchup between two wrestlers that have ...

Heir to the Throne: Why Davey Richards Is the Best Wrestler in the World

Posted by Steven Ransiear On November - 23 - 2009
When it was announced that Bryan Danielson would be leaving ROH and the independent scene for the WWE, it sparked a lot of conversation about who would take over as the best wrestler in the world; in the fan's eye, at least. Sure, it was Danielson's gimmick, but at the same time many would admit that he was in fact the best in the world.  With Danielson's reign over, who now takes the crown and admiration of all the indy fans? My answer to that question is Davey Richards. Davey has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and to be ...

Does Anyone Else Miss the Monday Night Wrestling Wars?

Posted by Quinn Gammon On November - 23 - 2009
My debut article. Somehow, I always felt that my first real wrestling article would be something praising the business I love so much, and have loved since I was nine years old. But, unfortunately, it's not. My first piece deals with exactly what's slowly eating away at my love for a once great industry. Where's the quality? As a man who is currently without cable, I was forced to watch last night's Survivor Series 2009 PPV online. That wasn't my issue, I've been reduced to that option many times before. My option was that it was a huge waste of time and ...

A Broken Rey Mysterio Finally Taking Time Off for Much-Needed Surgery

Posted by Joe Burgett On November - 23 - 2009
Last night at WWE Survivor Series, we saw a pretty good match between Batista and Rey Mysterio. Now, leading up to the PPV, these two put on a solid storyline with one another. Mysterio came out looking like he had the edge over Batista in the few weeks leading up to the PPV, but in the end Batista walked away the winner. A piece of news came out about a week or two ago saying Mysterio has been wrestling hurt, and many think that he could cause serious damage to the injured area if he kept on wrestling. It is said that ...

Whither Goest Thou, WWE Title?

Posted by Voodoo Magic On November - 23 - 2009
There is no sense backing into this, so I'll just come right out and say it:   The WWE title scene is in shambles.   I know I'm not the first person to notice this, but it deserves to be said. I have no clue where creative is going with the title picture on Raw and it would not surprise me if they didn't either.   This glaring problem is due to a number of things: not the least of which is the chaos brought on by the inane guest host concept, especially when said guest hosts can't even get the name of the shows correct ...

WWE Survivor Series 2009 Prediction Competition Results

Posted by Hayley-L Graham On November - 23 - 2009
Survivor Series has come and gone for another year, and what an event! Both main titles were retained, Kofi Kingston took another step up the ladder, and Shawn Michaels knocked the taste out of Triple H's mouth on many occasions. Between all this calamity, who was able to prove their prediction skills and claim the top spot? Who had the shame of being in last place? Did anyone else become a member of the 100 percent club? 48 brave creatures put their pride, honor, and ego on the line to risk a chance at glory, but for whom did the price pay ...
