Survivor Series: Why The WWE Should Build It Up More

Posted by david kim On November - 14 - 2009
Survivor Series has always been one of my favorite Pay-per-views of the year. In fact, it has even topped Wrestlemania at times. (this may be a stretch). Why? Because the buildups to Survivor Series are utterly amazing. Who could forget 2001 Survivor Series where the alliance took on the WWF, or the 2003 Survivor Series in which Team Bishoff faced Team Austin, where the winner took control as general manager of RAW. Even the 2004 Card of Evolution vs. Randy's Anti-evolution and the 2005 Card of Smackdown vs Raw (but this time, much better than the bragging rights match) cannot ...

The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit in Pro Wrestling

Posted by Svyato Rovenchuk The Toronto Made Classic On November - 13 - 2009
If you are a christian and believe in Jesus Christ you also believe in the Holy Spirit. And you know that the Holy Spirit brings us 7 gifts. The gifts of wisdom, understanding, right judgment, knowledge, fortitude, piety, and fear of the lord. If you look at Pro Wrestling you can see all of those gifts in there. In what superstars you may ask? Well you are about to find out. Begin Slideshow

Eddie Guerrero: Forever Young

Posted by Fred Richani On November - 13 - 2009
It seems just like yesterday when I found out one of my all-time favorite wrestlers, “Latino Heat” Eddie Guerrero passed away, due to heart failure. Nov. 13, 2005 was such a sad day for wrestling fans around the world. It was definitely a tragic moment that hit the wrestling world hard like a meteorite.   Guerrero's employer, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), publicly implemented a wellness policy, consisting of stringent drug tests for all their superstars. Superstars that test positive end up suspended and may receive rehabilitation treatment.   Guerrero's death may not have been drug-related directly, but certainly, his past use of pain killers, ...

Ultimo Dragon: Pro Wrestling’s All-Time Greatest International Star

Posted by Joe Burgett On November - 13 - 2009
When you think of some of the greatest wrestling stars of all time, you may think of people such as Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock. The popularity of these two men in America made them a house hold name across the world. However, America is not the only place wrestling takes place. Japan actually has some of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and they constantly put out great wrestlers every year. It seems ever since pro-wrestling was seen in Japan, the Japanese loved every minute of it. It is so popular now that you can go into places ...

WWE Going More Mainstream With Appearances

Posted by On November - 13 - 2009
Lately it has been noticeable to anyone who watches wrestling that tons of WWE talent have been appearing all over television.  This is a smart move for the WWE, because cross branding can only give them more exposure. Recently we have seen Dolph Ziggler on Deal or no Deal, five wrestlers on "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader," Stephanie and some others appeared on a cooking show, John Cena and Mickie James have both appeared on Psych on Raw's home network USA, and Vince himself has been on ESPN more time this year then I can ever remember seeing. The ...

The Great Muta: International Superstar Keiji Mutoh

Posted by FRANK On November - 12 - 2009
Keiji Mutoh, the current President of All Japan Pro Wrestling, is well known globally as The Great Muta. Mutoh was one of the quickest and most exciting wrestlers to ever compete in Professional Wrestling. After competing in Judo competition, which he would incorporate in his wrestling style, Mutoh made his debut in 1984.  Mutoh had the luxury of learning the ropes by legendary trainer Hiro Matsuda. Matsuda's list of trainees includes Hulk Hogan, Paul "Mr. Wonderful" Orndoff, Ron Simmons, Lex Luger and the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair. After a brief run in New Japan Pro Wrestling, as White Ninja, he decided to head to North America for seasoning. His ...

The Best International Star: Masato Tanaka

Posted by Steven Ransiear On November - 11 - 2009
It would be impossible to name the best international star of all time, it's purely subjective. One could say Muta or Kobashi in the modern era and Rikidozan or Baba in the classic era.  I'd like to discuss someone who's been on top for a while now and in more than one area of the world—Masato Tanaka. Most North American fans will know him from his time in ECW. His matches against Mike Awesome are my personal favorite series of matches between any two wrestlers. They were the definition of brutal. Both suffered incredible damage over the course of those matches. Powerbombs ...

The Wrestling Rumor Mill is Back, Rejoice! (Humor)

Posted by Shane H. On November - 11 - 2009
It's been a while, but I'm back with another installation of the only rumors you should ever believe. Everyone should know that the fans clamor for only one rumor mill around here. Those who think my rumor mill isn't heavily sought after also believe that The Great Khali had one of the most impressive title runs in recent memory.   Ring of Honor (ROH) Mike Hogewood got himself in a similar situation to Pee Wee Herman recently. Apparently, some people in a movie theater that Hogewood was in didn't take kindly to having the announcer shout "slap the porpoise" in the middle of an ...

Survivor Series: Back to Basics

Posted by Joel Abraham On November - 11 - 2009
At last, a PPV midcard I'm looking forward to! Two classic elimination tag matches have been announced for Survivor Series: Team Kofi (Kofi, MVP, Henry, R-Truth, Christian) vs. Team Orton (Orton, DiBiase, Rhodes, CM Punk, Regal); Team Morrison (Morrison, Shelton, Matt Hardy, Finlay, Bourne) v Team Miz (Miz, Swagger, Ziggler, McIntyre, Sheamus). I can't wait for these matches. What a great way to use the vast array of midcard talent in the roster! Look at the lineups—there's no dead wood, just 20 talented guys who have the potential to put on two classic matches. The elimination tag matches have been something of an ...

John Cena Goes To ECW: The Final Chapter

Posted by Mike Salvatore On November - 11 - 2009
After weeks of anticipation, the WWE’s latest pay-per-view, Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (oh my) is upon us.   There are several quality matches scheduled, but the one match that most people are buzzing about is the Fatal Four Way Table Match for the ECW Championship.   The WWE doesn’t think highly enough of the ECW Title to make it a full TLC match, so the WWE Universe has to settle for a Table Match.   In that match, ECW Champion Christian defends his title against William Regal, Shelton Benjamin, and JOHN CENA!!!   The first match of the night is between Dolph Ziggler and Shawn Mich….I mean John ...
