This was also posted at Ring-Rap.com.  Haven't seen an iMPACT recap of late on here so I thought I would share this one between the sites. TNA is heading into its final pay-per-view event of 2009, called Final Resolution .  Here’s what happened tonight on this edition of iMPACT as we make our way to the PPV. The show opens with Kevin Nash sitting in Mick Foley’s office.  Nash says he’s gotten a face-to-face meeting with Foley set up for “tomorrow” with Hulk Hogan. Nash gives Foley an airline ticket. In typical Kevin Nash fashion, something has to be given up for ...
Okay, let's make this short and sweet. What you are about to read is what we call a rant. Throughout the Internet Wrestling Community, we continue to hear the cries of fans who are fed up with the wrestling product they are given on the main stage. Boy, do I have the answer to your problems. Let's run down the list of many of the issues ailing you: You are tired of seeing the same faces in the world title scene. There aren't any fresh faces being elevated. The tag team division isn't up to scratch. Many of the women who are wrestling aren't ...

2009 WWE Slammy Awards

Posted by Jessy Morris On December - 10 - 2009
Yet another year is close to being over and 2009 proved to be an exciting year for WWE fans. We witnessed some great matches and great rivalries. We saw superstars returning to the WWE to the delight of the fans. I know this may be a little bit early to do this considering the TLC event is still to come, but I may not be able to do it next week so I decided to do it now, anyway I doubt it changes at all. 2010 is coming pretty fast and it already seems that it will be a great year for ...

Ready To Be Bullied?: Nick Busick Takes Sports Jabbers’ Questions

Posted by TJ Jenkins On December - 10 - 2009
Recently, a member of Sports Jabber who was also once a professional wrestler agreed to take the questions of the membership about his wrestling career, his personal life, and just about anything else that they could think to ask him. With the wrestler formerly known as "Big Bully Busick" being ever so kind, I figured that the least we as a sports community at Sports Jabber was to shine some light on the man behind the persona. I give you, Nick Busick! Busick debuted on the wrestling circuit in 1991 and is a former NGWA heavyweight champion. His brief stint in the ...

Enough Is Enough: It’s Time for Change, WWE!

Posted by Quinn Gammon On December - 10 - 2009
Warning: Controlled rant. There are significant points, albeit drawn out. Such is the point of a rant. If you can handle the word count, you will find amusement, entertainment and more than likely, a little frustration with my opinions. Regardless, enjoy.   What's my problem with Mark Cuban? What's so vital to the state of professional wrestling that I'm quoting Owen Hart's old theme music, which is also, unfortunately, one of the lousiest pieces of production music ever given to a Superstar? What's the point? My point of starting out my piece this way is that not only was Monday Night RAW poorly produced but it really ...

If Only: Five Wrestlers Whose Books I Would Love to Read

Posted by Steve Albert On December - 9 - 2009
Nothing against Larry Zybi… Larry Zibisq… wait, let me look this up… nothing against Larry Zbyszko, but I don’t currently have his autobiography on my shelf. It ain’t really all that likely to end up there either. Sammartino’s book I’ll get to. I’ve already read all of Foley’s books (yup, even the novels). Books by Bobby Heenan and Bret Hart were devoured. Chris Jericho’s book was forced down the throat of a dear friend as soon as I finished it with the helpful advice “YOU HAVE TO READ THIS!!!” And I never speak in caps. But there are so many ...
In a less than shocking story, it is being reported from ESPN and doctors who studied former WWE and TNA talent Andrew "Test" Martin, that he had the same brain condition Chris Benoit apparently suffered from, called chronic traumatic encephalopathy(CTE). Dr. Bennet Omalu, who is co-director of the Brain Injury Research Institute, was the man who studied Martin's brain. Omalu told ESPN.com that Martin suffered from brain damage—more specifically a syndrome he has defined as chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which stems from repeated blows to the head. Martin is the now the second former wrestler to be linked to CTE; as we ...

My Journey To the Palace of Wisdom (Part 2)

Posted by Mike Salvatore On December - 9 - 2009
My tour of the first floor of the Palace of Wisdom was certainly interesting to say the least. There was so much that I was not prepared to see. As John Morrison continues his personal guided tour of his house, I can only imagine what other surprises I will encounter. Morrison: …And that was the first time I had crabs. Me: Thanks for sharing that with me, John. Does Melina know about your little “friends”? Morrison: You leave my spicy senorita alone! Me: Relax, John, I was just kidding. This corridor is massive, how long until we reach your gym? Morrison: Patience, my young padawan. We ...

Looking Back: The Top 50 Matches In WWE History (50-41)

Posted by rob On December - 8 - 2009
Greetings, my fellow wrestling fanatics. Today, I begin to take a look at one of the most debatable and arguable topics in all of wrestling, the greatest matches of all time.     Everyone has their favorites, and everyone has their own criteria for what makes a match great.   Let’s face it; there have been so many matches in history, so many wrestlers, so many promotions, in so many locations, it would be almost impossible to make a perfect list that everyone would agree on.   There have also been many, many matches that have gone unseen. There are countless non-televised events, or “house shows” that ...
