Why Pro Wrestlers Don’t Have Health Insurance: It’s On the Wrestler
On December - 8 - 2009
From the title of the article most of you are going to want to lash out and say, "Joe you're nuts, how can you say that the reason pro wrestlers don't have health insurance is because of the wrestler themselves?"
But calm down, and just keep reading on. You'll see why I blame the wrestlers more so than the promotion.
First, let's talk about the WWE. As many of us know, the WWE is the most popular pro wrestling promotion on the planet. It is weird to say that they are the ones we think of every time we hear the ...
What If #2: What If Vince Russo Never Left WWE For WCW
On December - 8 - 2009
By now I'm sure everyone knows that Vince Russo is behind TNA's creative team. He has done a decent job lately shaking things up and pushing different guys, but he hasn't always performed so well.
Vince Russo was at the helm of the WWE during part of the monday night wars. He contributed to the success of certain people like The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, to name a few. He later went to WCW where he touted these accomplishments as if he were soley responsible for their success.
As time went on, you could clearly see that Vince Russo was ...
The Problem With John Cena Holding The Gold
On December - 8 - 2009
Let me just admit right now I'm not a John Cena fan, but that's not why I have a problem with him wearing the WWE Title.
Cena holding the title makes perfect sense for the company, he's a big dude and he's popular with the kids (who buy most of the WWE merchandise).
My problem is that because there is no Brock Lesnar type heel anymore, I have no sense that Cena will lose the title ever.
They're pushing Shammus now, but he's too new and too gimmicky for me to actually think he'll defeat Cena.
Past Champions, in my opinion, have worked better ...
WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs Predictions
On December - 8 - 2009
WWE produces TLC:Tables, Ladders & Chairs which will take place on Dec. 13, 2009, at the AT&T Centre in San Antonio, Texas. These are my predictions for the pay-per-view.
Match 1: Randy Orton vs Kofi Kingston (Singles match)
I think this match should have been a TLC because after losing the WWE title to John Cena at Bragging Rights, Orton blamed Kingston for the loss.
These two men fought against each other for several weeks till they were the captains for their respective teams at Survivor Series.
The week prior to Survivor Series, Kingston injured Orton after applying the Boom Drop on an unconscious ...
Sheamus: Too Much, Too Soon
On December - 8 - 2009
Not like this.
It just can’t happen like this.
The WWE is completely botching the push of Sheamus.
I’ve made it clear in the past how I feel about the WWE’s initial build of Sheamus, and I still hold the same feelings.
The company has done nothing to adequately build Sheamus as a main event talent, and—aside from one cheap-shot and bodyslam—we’ve seen him show nothing in the ring against John Cena.
I’ve got absolutely no problem with the WWE pushing new talent.
I ranted and raved about the direction the company took with Kofi Kingston, and I am a converted fan of the way CM ...
Raw Guest Hosts: 5 Heel Hosts I’d Like to See
On December - 7 - 2009
When Jesse Ventura hosted Raw he brought something most celebrities probably wouldn't be willing to bring: The willingness to be hated. This added a lot to the show that even some of the heel general managers couldn't bring. But can we find heels outside of wrestling who would be good at the role? I think I've found a few...Begin Slideshow
THE WORLDS BIGGEST MARK PRESENTS: What I Think About Chris Benoit
On December - 7 - 2009
I use Chris Benoit like a prostitute when I watch his matches. I turn his wrestling match on, enjoy it, then turn it off.
Since the man is reprehensible as a human being I have to somehow justify the reason I can enjoy his wrestling matches.
The man could work in the ring - no doubt about it.
But when I hear people saying he should be remembered - due to their loyalty to the art, it just makes me sick. I mean, what does a man have to do in this society (whether he had mental problems or not) to be considered marked ...
Fantasy Wrestlemania: Matches That Never Happened and Never Will
On December - 7 - 2009
With all the rumors of the Rock possibly coming back for a one-night only match against John Cena at Wrestlemania 26, and then the discussion here at Bleacher Report that Shawn Michaels would be a better choice for the Rock to face, it got me thinking.
What would my ultimate Wrestlemania be? And for that matter what would your ultimate Wrestlemania be?
There are a few rules to this though. First and foremost the wrestlers chosen had to at one time have wrestled for the WWE during the Wrestlemania era.
Second, the wrestler chosen will be magically transformed into their ...
Two Things TNA Should Try Before Starting Monday Night War II
On December - 7 - 2009
There seems to be a lot of clamoring about the fact that TNA is airing a program opposite the WWE in January. The talk of a new era of Monday Night Wrestling Wars is great publicity and surely has lit up the Internet Wrestling Community (IWC).
If you are not aware, TNA is airing their Jan. 4, 2010, episode of iMPACT opposite the WWE’s Raw program. This is also the date that Hulk Hogan is slated to make his on-camera TNA debut.
There have been a number of news stories posted at Bleacher Report about this matter and I will do my best ...
Analyzing the Hitman’s Claims: Should Melina Be Spoken of As the Best?
On December - 7 - 2009
Melina, the current divas champion...and the best wrestler in the world? What? That can't be true.
If you are anything like me that is the exact reaction you had when you heard that Bret Hart had said he felt Melina was the best wrestler in the world. I mean, sure she is an okay diva and a decent wrestler, but what has she done to warrant being called the best in the world? Or what has she done to earn praise from Bret "the Hitman" Hart, one of the best technical wrestlers to ever step in the ring?
These had to be ...
