My Top 10 Favourite WWE Wrestlers of the Decade

Posted by Jamie Harding On December - 30 - 2009
So the first decade of the 21st century is nearly over, a decade that spans my entire lifetime as a WWE as my awareness of the company began almost exactly along with the turn of the millenia. I think I would mark this occasion by creating my own version of the "Top Ten WWE Wrestlers of the decade". This list is not intended to be a judgement of the most technically-gifted wrestlers or the wrestlers who have had the most impact, but more simply those wrestlers who have most entertained and impressed me personally. Therefore, I dont intend to persuade ...

Thank You, Tommy: A Reflection on an Unconventional Wrestling Legend

Posted by Voodoo Magic On December - 30 - 2009
Earlier tonight, Tommy Dreamer retired. OK, scratch that; Tommy Dreamer left WWE. His reason for leaving is apparently because of his distaste for how he has been used in WWE, and there are rumors that he is going to TNA. But that’s not why I’m writing this article. I’m not writing as a smark tonight. I know the details of his leaving, true. I know that this is likely not the end for Tommy Dreamer. But there is a time and a place for critical commentary. This is not it. Tonight I’m writing more as a fan of pro wrestling. I’m writing as someone ...

The Death of the Original ECW

Posted by Scott Manyard On December - 30 - 2009
As the screen faded to black and ECW came to an end, it suddenly hit me. There are no more ECW originals in the WWE. Tommy Dreamer made his curtain call tonight, after losing a highly competitive match against up-and-comer Zach Ryder. After the match, Dreamer gave a heartfelt speech about how much he loves the entire WWE Universe and how much he will miss being in the ring representing ECW. He then took off his famed black ECW T-shirt and left it in the middle of the ring in an almost symbolic gesture signaling the death of the original ECW. Now, many have ...

Top 10 Things I Would Like To See WWE Do in 2010

Posted by JVCXV On December - 29 - 2009
As 2010 fast approaches, one cannot help but think of New Year's resolutions.  No I am not talking about a former WWE pay per view, I'm talking about those things people promise themselves they are going do in the New Year. Well, this got me thinking, and I don't know if the WWE has made any as of yet, but here is a list of 10 things I would like to see in the WWE.  By the way, these aren't in any particular order. 1. Give us match endings and story lines that actually make sense. ...
This is the final piece in a three part series. I would like to thank every single one of your for the comments, the likes, and your unparalleled love and passion for the great sport of pro wrestling. Without you, this series would be nothing. In my humble opinion, pro wrestling will die a gruesome death if the old ECW, nWo, and Attitude Era are brought back, if Sheamus has the rug swept up from under his push, and if TNA continues to allow Hulk Hogan to dominate their programming. Period. A while back, I crafted an article that talked about how ...

2009 Year End Awards: Wrestling

Posted by Steven Ransiear On December - 29 - 2009
Earlier, I counted down my top 10 wrestlers of the year. Now, with New Years Eve on the horizon, it's time to run down the best promotion, match, biggest surprise, biggest disappointment, and more. Have fun and please leave a comment below with your thoughts!   Biggest Surprise of the Year: The Tragic in Ring Death of Mitsuharu Misawa This sent shock waves through the wrestling world. Seeing someone pass away in the ring during a match is something no one can prepare themselves for. With so many wrestlers dying due to drug related events, we've grown somewhat accustomed to hearing the sad ...

Bret Hart Will Host Monday Night Raw on Jan 4

Posted by Sean Jackson On December - 29 - 2009
The Dec. 28 version of Raw proved to be very interesting. During the middle of the program Vince McMahon came out to tell the crowd Bret Hart was going to be the host of next week’s Raw .   But every time he tried to get the words out he couldn’t. Then entered Shawn Michaels.   Michaels came out of left field asking for a rematch with the Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. He then went on to “convince” McMahon that bringing back Hart will only “bring good things.”   It seems to be evident a storyline between Bret Hart and Vince McMahon will go down. It ...
Last night on Raw Vince McMahon officialy announced to the world that Bret Hart will indeed be hosting next week's Raw. The way he announced it was very interesting. Vince came to the ring to address the rumors of Bret's return. He then explained that back in Montreal Bret screwed Bret. He also went on to claim that he would never allow Bret to host Raw. Then Shawn Michaels' music hit and he made his way to the ring with a very serious look on his face. He talked about how some feuds transcend the industry. He then threw a curve ball ...

Period. A while back, I crafted an article that talked about how the WWE Divas could benefit from looking back at what made the division successful in the past. Although that particular article didn't receive as many reads as I thought it would, it seems that several faithful B/R members and fans have taken my words ...
