For a while now, we have all heard a number of negative opinions and reports regarding the partnership between Hulk Hogan and Dixie Carter.    We all talk about the “Fingerpoke of Doom” and Hulk’s control issues backstage.    We all wait for the signing of a number of over-the-hill talents who will shove the young stars of TNA to the background again.   After reading a few interview transcripts posted at different sites, I begin to wonder if Hogan does have at least one good thing in mind for TNA.    He apparently wants writers to have a lesser role in the overall product.   In a recent interview ...

CvC—Through the Eyes of a Cerebral Assassin: Evolution Of A Generation

Posted by Sulayman H. On December - 15 - 2009
“He may be the best in the business today.” -Jim Ross, Survivor Series 2000 “I feel like I’m talking to myself and looking in the mirror twenty years ago, I was that good, that's how good you are.” -Ric Flair addressing Triple H If one can go to the unbelievably asinine limits that hyperbole allows us to, one would be inclined to state that not only has Hunter Hearst Helmsley been the face of his generation, but the greatest face of all time. Unfortunately, some would see fit that I set fire ...
As soon as I learned that Randy Orton was going to square-off against The Undertaker, I got a little disappointed. Which is a shame because anytime I get to see my favorite wrestler compete against a Legend of Legends, I should be excited. Yet with the past setting the precedent, I prepared myself for Randy Orton to get humiliated...again. While many people may not have noticed, I have subtly picked up on The Undertaker's refusal to allow Randy Orton to remain competitive against him. Not years ago, back then, The Undertaker went above and beyond the call of duty to put Orton over time ...

Complaints from Last Night’s WWE Raw/Slammy Awards

Posted by On December - 15 - 2009
Last night, Dennis Miller hosted Raw , which was also the Slammy awards night.  He seemed to have some difficulty getting his jokes over with the crowd in the beginning of the evening, but eventually the crowd reacted to him. The show was one of WWE's many three-hour editions they have every year.  The most interesting moment of the night for me came when Vince came out to present a Slammy and made comments about the host and the crowd.  I was assuming we were going to see the nice Vince we have seen in recent months, but he proceeded to insult ...
There are a lot of different things in the WWE that I see going in a positive direction.  Unfortunately the same cannot be said for TNA Wrestling. Monday Night RAW on Dec. 14 treated us to a high-quality show with excellent promos and four of the top superstars in the WWE competing in a tournament. I thought this was an excellent change of pace. The matches were rather short but still very fun to watch. There was an excellent segment featuring Chris Jericho and Big Show accepting the Slammy Award for Tag Team of the Year.  Afterwards, Chris Jericho and Big Show put down another in a string of ...

When All Else Has Failed, I Simply Thank God for Randy Orton

Posted by Ryan Michael On December - 15 - 2009
The WWE Universe might be a bit of a mess right now, but I reserve my right to gripe for another time. It might be about time that I act a little more optimistic. Even when pessimism seems warranted, I'm going to opt (if but for one night only) to be grateful instead. Grateful to be entertained by Randy Orton every Monday night. Now as you might have very well assumed from the article's title that the following will be an endless rant of Orton-worship; but that assumption will not prove to be reflective upon my actual feelings in this instance. I am thankful for Randy Orton, and more so than ...

Cena and Sheamus Battle It Out But Cena Came Up a Little Short

Posted by lee raydean On December - 15 - 2009
It finally happened and it was sad to see. I am talking about John Cena losing his belt to Sheamus, the Celtic Warrior. Many of John's fans were horrified when his body went through a table and Sheamus became the new Champ. It was an unforgettable match. You could hear a pin drop in that arena after the match, except for Sheamus, who was as proud as a peacock holding up the belt. He was grinning from ear to ear. Of course the Celtic Warrior deserved to be proud, after all he did win the championship fair and square. Got to give him ...

The Top WWE Matches of 2009; What Are Yours?

Posted by rob On December - 14 - 2009
Greetings fellow wrestling fanatics. My intent was to wait until after the TLC pay per view to write this, thinking we might get one more classic bout before the calendar turns to 2010. I was wrong. The TLC themed event of the same name was a complete disappointment, with sloppy matches and poor booking decisions throughout the show, but that's a different story for a different article. The WWE will have The Slammy awards tonight on Monday Night Raw , and one of their prestigious awards is for match of the year. I think it is safe to say we all ...

Tag Team Gold for Shawn Michaels, Heavyweight Gold for Sheamus, Problem?

Posted by Ryan Michael On December - 14 - 2009
Yes there is a problem, a huge problem. The WWE has abandoned any rational sense of a credible balance of power. Jobbers become main-eventers, main-eventers become jobbers, exaggerating on my part, of course, but no further close to reality than it would be to state that the greatest performers reap the greatest rewards. Take Shawn Michaels, for instance. The personification of a selfless man. The true essence of what a sports entertainer should be. Better in the ring than just about anyone past or present, willing and able to cut any promo requested of him, and over-qualified for any honor that could ever be bestowed. Now take Sheamus. Un-impressive ...

WWE TLC 2009 Prediction Competition Results

Posted by Hayley-L Graham On December - 14 - 2009
TLC has come and gone, and it was definitely one of the most controversial PPV's that's graced our screens in a long time. Almost nobody saw Christian or Undertaker retaining their titles, but the biggest upset of the night was when Sheamus beat John Cena to receive his first taste of championship gold. With all this being said, how did all of you do in this month's Prediction Competition? In a playing field with a record 55 participants, we had one person step up to the plate to gain not only 100 percent, but their second clean sweep in the past four months! However, I'm ...
