Breaking News: Jeff Hardy Indicted by Grand Jury on Drug Charges

Posted by Joe Burgett On January - 5 - 2010
After all sorts of speculation, it has now been confirmed that Jeff Hardy has been indicted for drug trafficking. He was charged for the following: Felony possession of cocaine Felony drug trafficking of opium Felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug (two counts) Maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution Possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor) Now, I want you all to keep in mind that two of these will be thrown out. One, the cocaine charge, they found such a small amount that it's doubtful he will get much of if any charge from it. The other is possession with intent to ...

Why Jeff Hardy Doesn’t Belong in a TNA Ring

Posted by Steven Ransiear On January - 5 - 2010
I'm going to start this and say that I am a bit biased towards Jeff Hardy. I've never thought much of him in the ring although I think he's had good matches. Just wanted to get that out of the way. On January 4, Monday night live iMPACT, the one that was supposed to be full of surprises one thing stuck in my mind. It's the fact that Jeff Hardy is working for a nationally televised wrestling organization. I understand he's a "name" talent and probably one of the most over workers of the past few years. However, that does not excuse ...
Back in October I wrote an article asking WWE to have an OMEGA stable. Now with Will Howard reporting that Matt Hardy and Hurricane Helms may be requesting their release from the WWE, we could see this happen. I have decided to repost most of the original article with a few changes to it.  Now that TNA has Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore, and with Will's report, I figured it was appropriate to mention this again. As most wrestling fans know by now, Matt and Jeff Hardy owned and ran a pro wrestling organization known as OMEGA, which stands for Organization of Modern Extreme ...
Two of my sources, one of which being the source that let me to inform Joe Burgett that Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore had signed with TNA-(beating every other news outlet in the world mind you), have informed me that Shane Helms, better known as WWE's resident natural disaster, the Hurricane, has made an informal request for his release. Helms has long wanted to form a tag team again, and joining Moore in TNA would allow him to do so. * Side-note-there have been zero Evan Karagias sightings, this is a very good thing.* Helms could file an official request for a release ...

Jeff Hardy Shocks the World By Signing with TNA

Posted by On January - 5 - 2010
It is being reported all over the news sites that Jeff Hardy has signed with TNA. Dixie and Hogan must have deep pockets to get a guy who was offered a $3 million contract and turned it down. If this is indeed true then it is a gigantic gain for TNA.  A few months back when Jeff was still in WWE, he was the most popular wrestler in the company.  To this day, his merch outsells some of the other top guys who are still around. Jeff made a surprise appearance by showing up at TNA last night.  Everyone knew he would be ...
This is a longer article than I usually write, so be ready to read for awhile. Last night marked the first time since Vince McMahon purchased WCW that the WWE went head-to-head on Monday night with a major competitor. There is no question in my mind that WWE won the night with ratings, but who really had the better show? I'll start with Raw. Raw began with exactly what I expected. Bret Hart made his dramatic return to the WWE. His entrance music hit, the titantron lit up pink and black, and the crowd went nuts. The hero who had been forced to leave the ...
TNA had a wonderful opportunity tonight to showcase what they’re all about by going live and head to head with WWE.  After having some time to digest the show, I am willing to say that it failed to make an impact.   This was the debut night for Hulk Hogan, so I’m still very much in the “wait and see” camp as the product moves forward.  Only time will tell what’s going to ultimately come of this partnership.    Here are some my off-the-cuff reactions and opinions regarding what I watched tonight.   Going live is a big step forward for iMPACT.  I thought the show went ...
It's been about three or four years since I really have sat down to watch a professional wrestling program. I'm a hockey fan as you might see by the other articles I've written on this site. But when I heard the news in random circles that both Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart would be back, I made Monday night January 4, 2010 one to mark on my calendar. I'm not going to knock wrestling, because I'm still a fan, but I won't be changing my schedule to keep up with either show after what each respective company produced. I eagerly awaited TNA to ...
At least for one night, it felt fun to be a pro wrestling fan. The love affair with the "sport" began for me like so many others - in the 80s. I can't remember what the first wrestling match was that I saw, but I know what WWF Superstars of Wrestling on Saturday afternoons meant, what renting videos from Coliseum Video meant, and the first time I saw Hulk Hogan wrestle King Kong Bundy at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME. While the early part of the 1990s weren't the greatest for us, the latter part ...

Impact Times Three: Multiple Shows in One TNA Broadcast

Posted by Andy Stern On January - 5 - 2010
Last night's show was a chance for TNA to show its true colors—and its potential as a wrestling company. What we received was three shows: one with TNA talent, another featuring the friends of Hulk Hogan and former WWE/WCW talent, and a third made up of various segments that did not fit with the rest of the broadcast. The following is a review of the show, split into what came across to me as the two main portions, and then a review of the segments that didn't seem to fit anywhere else. Show No. 1 On this portion of the broadcast we had ...
