“Bret Hart screwed Bret Hart.” These were the words from WWE chairman Vince McMahon that have echoed around the souls of Bret “The Hitman” Hart fans for a dozen years. On the first Monday Night Raw of the decade, the five-time WWE champion finally returned to the limelight of a WWE ring. I had goosebumps. My heart was pounding. One of my idols from my childhood was back. Scripted or not, this was must-watch TV, and it meant much more to me than the side issue of a ratings battle with TNA. Dressed in his trademark black leather jacket, knee-length, cut-off jeans, and dark shades, ...

Melina Vacates Divas Championship: What Next?

Posted by Christi Lott On January - 4 - 2010
WWE.com has officially acknowledged Melina's injury, though the details aren't out yet. Some sites have reported a torn ACL. I tend to wait until I hear from WWE.com and Melina herself but it's obvious that she'll be out a while. The WWE is holding an eight Diva tournament to crown a new champion. Storyline points to Maryse, who never got a chance to attempt to regain her title after she, herself, was out with an injury. With the news that The Hart Dynasty will be heading over to RAW tonight, I personally wouldn't mind seeing Natalya be a surprise winner. ...

10 Things Look Forward to in WWE in 2010

Posted by Adrian Staehle On January - 4 - 2010
I'm Glad To Return to the B/R Wrestling Community, it has been a long time and I'm glad to be back. Vince McMahon has made some choices tha twe have liked and shook out head at in disappointment, but this is a year that Vince will make us never forget and it all starts on the first Raw of 2010. The WWE has had one hell of a decade as the new millennium got underway and nearly ten year's later the WWE looks to rewind the clock a bit and bring us into a new decade and New Year. We have witnessed some ...

Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore Sign with TNA Wrestling

Posted by Joe Burgett On January - 4 - 2010
In one of the most shocking things I've heard in a while, it seems that Jeff Hardy has signed a tentative deal with TNA Wrestling. His buddy Shannon Moore signed as well, and they are said to be coming in as a tag team called Enigmadness, but I'd venture to say there will be singles competition for Hardy as well. According to Matt Hardy on the Hardy Show, Jeff failed a drug test about two weeks before he and CM Punk had their match at Summerslam, which gave Jeff his third strike in the WWE. The WWE didn't release Hardy ...

Jeff Hardy Headed to TNA iMPACT, Plus Other News and Updates

Posted by Joe Burgett On January - 3 - 2010
First off, don't think I am coming back to write a ton. This is my first in a little while, and I will not be writing as much when school starts back. As I won't have time with that and other things I have to do. But don't worry, you'll still hear from me. In any case, I wanted to give my take and possibly update most of you on this breaking news regarding Jeff Hardy. Hardy said today via Twitter that he will be going to TNA iMPACT tomorrow night for the big Live iMPACT show that will be going up ...
There are rumors all over the wrestling sites about who will be appearing at this monday's special three hour Impact. Some of the people I am listing are confirmed while others are simply rumors, so don't take any of this as guaranteed news. The obvious appearance of Hogan and Eric Bischoff is enough of a headline in itself, but now several other names have been mentioned. RVD is someone who is getting a lot of chatter, he has been vocal about discussions with TNA and now it seems that he is all but confirmed for tomorrow night. Ken "Kennedy" Anderson is rumored to be ...

Should the WWE Change Its Championship Structure?

Posted by JVCXV On January - 3 - 2010
Let me start off by saying that this article has absolutely nothing to do with the WWE Champion Sheamus.  I've said what I needed to say about that a couple of articles ago, and I have made my peace with that whole storyline. No, this is an article about all the championships currently in World Wrestling Entertainment.  Currently, WWE has a total of eight championship belts between the three brands (nine, if you count the unified tag belts as two separate titles). Some people out there believe that this number is too high.  Others feel WWE should ...

Hart vs Hogan: The Countdown Begins for WWE and TNA

Posted by On January - 3 - 2010
At the time I am writing this there is about 32 hours until TNA goes on the air with their first, of what appears to be many, Monday night specials.  This special is being made an even bigger affair by the debut of a man who has been the main source of conversation in the wrestling community for months now, Hulk Hogan. This however has been overshadowed in recent weeks by another appearance of a legend who has not been in a ring for quite some time, none other than Bret Hart.  WWE is not going to let TNA just come ...

The Sudden and Mysterious De-push of CM Punk

Posted by Scott Manyard On January - 3 - 2010
It was October 4 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and a buzz filled the air. As the clock reached 8:00 P.M. ET the crowd erupted as the cameras panned out to the capacity audience of 16,186 as the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view made its debut. Then to everyone’s surprise the opening guitar riff to "This Fire Burns" began playing and the then World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk stepped through the curtain to a stunned audience. Why would a championship match start off a Pay-Per-View? Isn't this spot usually reserved for the undercard matches? I then knew that something had ...

2009 Pro Wrestling Awards: Wrestling Brand/Promotion of the Year

Posted by Shane H. On January - 2 - 2010
The mainstream wrestling landscape in America isn't exactly setting the world on fire, especially with the top two. Still, wrestling is going (not exactly strong but still going). Who's given the viewing public the best bang for their buck (Young Buck pun there)? It's up to you to decide the best brand/promotion for 2009.   No. 1) WWE RAW The flagship show for WWE is the highest-rated wrestling program on television. The top names of the WWE call RAW home. John Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, and Maryse are just a few of the top stars on Monday nights. There ...
