Thoughts From The First WWE NXT Show.

Posted by On February - 24 - 2010
Last night on SyFy, WWE debuted it's new show NXT.  The show focuses on eight young rookies being mentored by eight superstars. First and foremost, Bryan Danielson, now going by Daniel Bryan made it known that he is not happy being paired with the Miz.  The thing I was surprised about is how much WWE announcers talked about his time in the independent circuit. WWE has made a habit out of ignoring the fact that other promotions exist, so for them to talk about it at all is a step in the right direction.  Bryan showed his nerves were not made of steel ...
Say it ain't so, Shawn, say it ain't so. It appears the end of an era is upon us. Shawn Michaels agreed last night on Raw that if he does not beat Undertaker at Wrestlemania in five weeks, he will retire. This does not come as much of a surprise to anyone who has been following Shawn's career outside the ring; he has been talking about retirement for a couple years now. He never even intended to return full-time when he made his return after a four-year sabbatical due to a back injury. I still find myself in shock, though. ...

Wrestling’s Lost Art of the Entrance Theme

Posted by Aaron Leal On February - 24 - 2010
Think about your favorite wrestler. What is the easiest thing that you can identify him with? His entrance theme. In this era of PG wrestling, so many things have been sacrificed for money and mainstream acceptance. From pay-per-view names, to wrestlers' freedoms to improvise on their characters, and to something as simple as blood in a match. But what many people seem to bypass is the generalization of the entrance theme. Gone are the days when you would hear an opening note and instantly know who was going to walk out through the curtain. ...

HBK VS TAKER 2….”THE DARK KNIGHT” OF WRESTLEMANIA MATCHES!!!

Posted by Aaron Irvine On February - 24 - 2010
Its official everyone, Shawn Michaels and Undertaker are on the road to a Wrestlemania rematch. Ever since HBK accepted the Slammy Award for his epic match at WM25 against the phenom, his obsession for a rematch has become progressively worse. With the results of “Elimination Chamber” and the stirring video package prior to the impressive match agreement on RAW, its official. Taker vs. HBK II is on. I for one couldn’t be more excited. However, there are many on here who feel this match is a mistake. Only three part two's have been better then the firsts: The Godfather II, Terminator ...

NXT Premier: Bryan Danielson Makes an Immediate Impact In WWE

Posted by Dido On February - 24 - 2010
As I was watching WWE NXT a couple of hours ago, I'll be blunt and straight to the point. I did not much care for the other rookies as much as I did for Bryan Danielson. Now going by the name Daniel Bryan. From the beginning of the show to the end, it was all Bryan. Sure we got to see some of the other rookies but none really caught my attention. In the beginning of the show Bryan and his "mentor" had a bit of teacher/student drama. With Bryan arguing how he has been in the business twice as ...

Why Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels II Will End in a Draw

Posted by Dido On February - 23 - 2010
Last year at Wrestlemania 25 we were witness to one of the greatest wrestling     matches of all time. Legendary performers The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels met in the square ring for the first time at Wrestlemania. Both were staples at the event as each had their own history within it. Undertaker with his unbroken streak and Shawn Michaels for his five star matches, all at Wrestlemania. What followed was a 30 minute roller coaster ride of a match where Shawn came up really close multiple times but ultimately failed and became another victim of the Deadman who extended his streak to 17-0. Now ...

CM Punk’s Straight Edge Gimmick Giving Kids the Wrong Message?

Posted by Jaden Smallings On February - 23 - 2010
CM Punk is certainly one of the greatest performers in WWE, especially when it comes to charisma and mic skills. Although what I said was true, is CM Punk's recent straight edge gimmick giving kids the wrong message about alcohol, drugs, and prescription medications? For a few months now, Punk's been portraying the role of a villain, claiming that he is better than everybody else because he's straight edge. For those of you who don't know what "straight edge" means, it basically means making a life-long commitment to refraining from drugs and alcohol.  During his feud with Jeff Hardy, Punk started believing that he ...

John Cena Was Screwed Over, but Will Get Revenge on Batista at WM26

Posted by lee raydean On February - 23 - 2010
Monday Night RAW was hopping last night. It was really worth watching. There was a lot going on inside and around the WWE. We'll start with John Cena, who came out to the ring, mad as hell and wanted to use his rematch clause. In the end, though, he had the belt for only a few minutes. At EC Sunday Night, John had won the belt and we were all happy. That was short lived, for you see, Mr. McMahon came out and said to Cena that he would be champion only if he could beat...and then Batista came out. Cena was in ...

My Thoughts On The Recent Pro Wrestling Debate

Posted by Mike Salvatore On February - 23 - 2010
Sports have so much to offer us fans. Tons of action, high intensity, and non-stop drama are just a few redeeming qualities.   Perhaps the greatest functionality of the world of sports are the various opinions that people form and the debates that spark up as a result.   Over the past few days here on B/R, there has been an intense debate as to the merits of professional wrestling and whether or not it constitutes a place on this website.   It started as one man’s humorous crusade to raise the ire of the wrestling community; and yes, he is indeed entitled to his opinion.   What ...

Two Reasons Why Undertaker Vs. Shawn Michaels Part Two Is a Bad Idea

Posted by Josh McCain On February - 23 - 2010
Good afternoon loyal reader, thought I'd grace you with my two-cents on the upcoming Michaels vs. Undertaker rematch at Wrestlemania. From the moment this match was hinted at, I felt it was a bad idea.  Many of you have hit on one of the main reasons against this match. There is little chance it can live up to the first match from last year.  It is possible, but these two stars are another year older and very close to retirement. Because there have been a couple of articles on that fact alone I won't bore you with my thoughts on it living up ...
