Dream Wrestlemania

Posted by David Forrest On April - 28 - 2010
Ever since I bought Legends of Wrestlemania, I've wanted to make my own Dream Wrestlemania bill of matches, and I thought "I have some time on my hands, why not do it then post it on Bleacher Report?". All characters are from Legends of Wrestlemania and Smackdown Vs. Raw (But not the DLC sadly, I'd have liked to have put Vader in) and one notable created superstar so no "OMFG NO MICK FOLEY????" comments please. Venue: Well, I thought about trying to find a year which could have realistically seen all these characters fight in and decided on somewhere after X, but ...

Recent Face Turns in the WWE That Don’t Really Work

Posted by Dan Power On April - 28 - 2010
Sometimes, in a wrestler's career, a face/heel turnover can be a very good thing.  Such a change might give a new breath to a stalling career.  Usually, the best moves are those turning a face into a heel character. Take Batista or CM Punk for example; both succeeded with their new attitude.  Batista is now a top heel and gained a lot of respect from many of his haters.  Punk is simply awesome with his Straight Edge Society and could become one of the best heel in history if the creative team doesn't screw. But, in the last months, the WWE have failed ...

WWE: The Official Return of The Rated R Superstar

Posted by Mike Salvatore On April - 28 - 2010
The image of Edge spearing Randy Orton this past Monday night was a sight for sore eyes. Do I have anything against the Viper? Of course not. Edge’s actions at the end of RAW seem to point to the conclusion that Edge is thankfully turning heel again. And it could not have happened soon enough. I enjoy Edge’s work very much, and I think he is one of the best wrestlers the WWE has ever produced. Edge made his "not so" surprising return to the WWE back in January at the Royal Rumble where he would go on to win the match. His return was met with ...

Hulk Hogan: Is the Wrestling Icon Ruining His Legacy?

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On April - 28 - 2010
HULK HOGAN!!!!!THE REAL AMERICAN HERO!!!!! The name used to mean so much to so many people.  Hogan is arguably the biggest star in professional wrestling history.  He has sold out arenas all around the world and wrestled most of the top stars from every country, territory, and promotion. Hogan had an amazing run in WWE back when they were call WWF as the face of the company.  Everything was put on Hogan's shoulders and he carried it well. He had loads of merchandise, tons of movie roles, and even a short lived TV show. Side note: I watched every episode of "Thunder in Paradise." Hogan was the ...

WWE’s Feud Between Matt Hardy and Drew Mcintyre Analyzed

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On April - 28 - 2010
The feud between Matt Hardy and Drew Mcintyre has really begun to gain some steam this past week. On last week's Smackdown, Drew Mcintyre delivered a nasty stomp to Matt Hardy's head while he was prone on the ring steps. Drew helped push his heel character with this move, while it helped Matt Hardy's never say die attitude show forth. Matt has been in a bit of a slump for a few months now, but it appears this new feud with Drew Mcintyre may bring him back into the title hunt for Drew's IC title. The IC title is one of the few ...

An Open Letter to “Nature Boy” Ric Flair

Posted by Ken Drabek On April - 28 - 2010
Dear Nature Boy, There is no doubt in anyone's mind that you are truly a legend in this business. That makes what I have to say all the more difficult, because I am a big fan of yours. I really do have nothing but the utmost respect for everything that you have done for professional wrestling. After watching you put your Hall of Fame ring on the line in a match against "The Monster" Abyss on Impact this past Monday night, it is painfully clear that you just need to stop. Please, Natch, do it for the sake of your legacy. When I think of ...

WWE Raises the Bar against TNA

Posted by Sean On April - 28 - 2010
As Raw kicked off the draft Monday night, the WWE universe was abuzz with hope and expectation. The main assumptions had to do with who was going to switch brands to create fresh feuds and rejuvenate both shows. I can bet most of the WWE universe did not expect the changes that occurred Monday night. I personally am an Ortonite, and was expecting a switch to Smackdown to battle Swagger, CM Punk, and others in what still would have been a good move to help Smackdown. Instead, we saw Vince McMahon and the WWE ante-up Raw and stack it with ...

Five Questions I Have for TNA Following Impact

Posted by Big Nasty On April - 27 - 2010
TNA messed around and had arguably their best show ever last week. TNA was not expected to follow last week's edition of Impact with an equally thrilling broadcast. However, last night's show displayed frustrating signs of regression for TNA. Last night's Impact saw TNA excel in terms of production value (I love the rough-cut, reality show feel Impact now has). But TNA went right back to their inside joke booking as you, the viewer, were left in the dark about many angles. Along with being left in the dark multiple angles, I also found myself scratching my head ...

Good News, Bad News, From the WWE Draft

Posted by Big Nasty On April - 27 - 2010
As of Tuesday afternoon, the temporary boundaries created by the WWE Draft are now set in stone glue. The time has come to give the good news, and the bad news, coming off of the WWE's annual three hour spectacular. For those paying close attention, each year after the WWE Draft it quickly becomes apparent who should be ecstatic about their change of scenery. Unfortunately, it also becomes quite evident who may as well have been sentenced to death row.Begin Slideshow

Post-Draft: Possible Matchups & Thoughts

Posted by Stefan A. On April - 27 - 2010
Every year WWE decides to shake things up by holding an annual draft. Since the roster split, WWE has held a draft since 2004. We have seen John Cena take the WWE Championship to RAW in 2005, and Batista take the World Heavyweight Championship to Smackdown. In 2007, WWE held their first-ever tri-branded draft. During the 2008 draft, three championships switched brands. In 2009, 36 wrestlers were given new homes. In 2010, we've seen more than a few shocks, and, as many Smackdown fans like myself will tell you, we got robbed at the draft. Our first two draft picks were Big Show and ...
