The Commentator Problem in Pro Wrestling Today

Posted by iqbal siraj On May - 6 - 2010
Now, I know the "wrestlers" in the ring and the storylines in wrestling are what makes the shows. But when you got lacklustre commentators (I'm British, so I therefore refer to them as commentators rather than announcers) then it makes the product seem rubbish to watch. They are there to narrate what is happening, yet they go on and on about other things rather than calling the match. This article was inspired by the fact that the best commentator in history, Jim Ross, has left announcing duties. Let's start off with the biggest suspect and douchebag, Michael Cole. Now, I don't know ...

Finlay Dropped from WWE Active Roster

Posted by Jason Taylor On May - 6 - 2010
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE superstar Finlay has been dropped from the company's active roster. The 52-year old Finlay joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 2004, and is a former WWE United States Champion. It has been widely reported that Vince McMahon has been on a big youth movement, and he wants to give his younger talents more television exposure. McMahon decreed removing Finlay from the talent roster because he felt that he was too old. Finlay's last in-ring appearance was at WrestleMania XXVI, where he competed in a 26-man Battle Royal. Finlay will remain with WWE as a backstage agent and producer, while working occasional ...

Taylor Wilde and Sarita Leaving TNA for WWE

Posted by Herman Almendarez On May - 6 - 2010
Apparently, after their contracts end with TNA, Wilde and Sarita plan to join WWE. It is said that Wilde and Sarita are not happy with the Knockouts Division. WWE wanted Wilde and Sarita in early December but TNA did not allow their releases. Now that the contracts are almost up, Wilde and Sarita plan to join WWE.  Another Knockout that is also leaving TNA is Tara. She stated on her blog that her pay was not fair and that TNA was not using her well. Tara plans to leave TNA after her contract expires. Tara also expresses that she would like ...
On Monday Night Raw, I had the pleasure of watching some great wrestling. The animal. Dave Batista, opened the show. As usual, he demanded to have the spotlight on him as he walked down the ramp to the ring. Announcer Micheal Cole, said that Batista wants the spotlight just on himself and doesn't want to share it with anyone. Dave acts as if someone owed him something. In that kind of business, just like any other sport, you have to work hard, respect your bosses and peers. At this stage of the game, Batista is acting like a little whiner. Yes he ...

Top 10 Things The WWE Needs To Work On

Posted by Sumz On May - 5 - 2010
The following ten ideas is what I feel the WWE is lacking in today’s product. With the recent PG /kids show entering our TVS every Monday and Friday we are stuck with the same old nonsense and bore that if I was to record one raw episode it and play it in 3 weeks time the matches would probably be the same, the crowd will still be dead and Cena will probably be champion. This is just my opinion as to what WWE should do so no need to get angry with nay of these ideas. Feel free to comment. ...

Talk Pro Wrestling With Svyato and Arda Ocal of Right After Wrestling

Posted by Svyato Rovenchuk The Toronto Made Classic On May - 5 - 2010
Svyato Rovenchuk of The Sports Dossier and Arda Ocal of Right After Wrestling (TheScore.com ) answer 15 questions about the world of Pro Wrestling. Who do you think is the next breakout star? (Face and Heel) Arda says : I’m a firm believer that those who switch brands in the draft are being groomed for a higher spot than where they currently are – which is why I’m looking for big things from Kofi Kingston on Smackdown. He’s got the look, great worker, I could watch his matches all day. Jack Swagger as a heel champ – I really hope they keep the belt on him for ...

Friday Night Wars! Daft Suggestions of the IWC

Posted by Brandon Hamblen On May - 5 - 2010
As there were one hundred or so articles written about TNA's return to Thursday night, I really didn't feel the need to comment on more than one but I did read the comments. What surprised me were how many comments were pushing for TNA to create a Friday night war.  What? Apparently, TNA could blow Friday Night Smackdown out of the proverbial ratings water. How is that, you ask?  Me too.  This had me baffled at some people's ignorance. Would you like to know their logic behind a Friday night war?  Hold on to your chairs.  Smackdown was pillaged by RAW for its talent. Whatever ...

What Does a New Colons/Hart Dynasty Feud Do for the WWE?

Posted by Benjamin Benya On May - 5 - 2010
Spoiler Alert! The Colons—Carlito and Primo—are about to reunite as a heel faction on the verge of breaking out for the second time in their collective run, and at least the fifth time for Carlito alone. With a potential reboot on the brother tandem that inherited a defunct tag team division, there is hope and faith that the Colons will be just enough to feud with the WWE’s hottest, and as of print time only (sorry Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft), tag team specialists, the Hart Dynasty. As sons and relatives of legendary competitors from the annals of wrestling history, David ...

If a “Lost” Cast Member Hosted WWE Raw, Who Would It Be?

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On May - 5 - 2010
This is not the sort of article I normally write, but after last night's heart wrenching episode of everyone's favorite Island themed show, I came up with the idea that one of these guys, or gals, should host WWE Raw. Ths show is wrapping up in 19 days, and fans are looking for as much "Lost" as they can get.  The night of the finale will feature five and a half hours of Lost programming, from a retrospective, to the finale itself, to a Jimmy Kimmel special. With the show being only a few weeks away, I think it would be in ...

Who Will Be the First NXT Rookie Ejected from WWE?

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On May - 5 - 2010
Next week is the first elimination show for WWE's newest venture NXT.  Ratings and reviews for NXT have been less than stellar so far. A lot of people do not seem to like the weekly competitions that have nothing to do with wrestling, and some of the rookies have confusing storylines. People don't seem to know whether to cheer or boo Darren Young, Daniel Bryan still has yet to win a match, Michael Tarver is being made out to be a whiny little girl, and Skip Sheffield is just plain strange. The best thing to come out of NXT is Wade Barrett. He ...
