The Rock: The People’s Chump

Posted by Tom Clark On July - 29 - 2010
The Rock, the Great One, the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. He is The People’s Champ. And he is also the most overrated sellout in pro wrestling history. While all of his fans catch their collective breath and prepare to hurl a litany of insults in my direction, let me assure you of a couple things. For starters, this is not a hate piece. I’m not bashing Dwayne Johnson, the wrestler turned actor formerly known as The Rock. I have no stake in this, no proverbial dog in this debatable fight. I have no problem with Johnson personally, as I have never ...

WWE Summer Madness: Elite 8

Posted by Ryne Alexander On July - 29 - 2010
Hello, and welcome back to WWE Summer Madness. At the beginning of this tournament, there were 64 WWE superstars in the bracket. That number has dwindled down to the Elite 8. Last round, we saw our first No. 1 seed exit the tournament, as Kofi Kingston was picked by the Bleacher Report readers to go over John Cena. Could we see any more surprises in this round? The only way to tell is for you, the reader, to vote on these matches and see who makes it to the Final 4, which will be posted tomorrow. Here are the matchups:   North Bracket 1) The Undertaker, Smackdown vs. 3) ...
It was expected to see the Odd Alliance tearing apart sooner or later, but they wasted no time. Only one week after John Cena presented the members of his coalition, it seems like they won't reach Summerslam together unless a major turnover happens in a near future. The last episode of Raw started with Cena and Jericho arguing on the mic about who should captain the team. But they quickly had to put their differences aside after the General Manager announced that they would have to team up for a tag team match at the end of the show. On the same evening, ...

SummerSlam: Can Cena and Team Pull Off the Win Over Nexus?

Posted by lee raydean On July - 29 - 2010
How did John Cena ever get into the predicament that he is in now? Will he and his team be able to pull things together in time for SummerSlam? The mystery GM for RAW sent Micheal Cole an email stating that it will be Team Cena vs. Nexus at SS. There is one problem with that. Team Cena cannot co-exist with one another. During Cena's opening statement, at the beginning of the show last week, Jericho came out to argue his point. According to Jericho, Team Cena should be his team. He thinks that he's the best one for the job. Cena ...

Which TNA Stars Need a Push?

Posted by Daniel Peragine On July - 29 - 2010
In the past several weeks, TNA stars Desmond Wolfe and Matt Morgan have been, in my opinion, misused.  Wolfe came into TNA on a high note, feuding with Kurt Angle.  This allowed him to be built up as a potential future champion.  Even Ric Flair stated in a recent interview that Wolfe could become just that.  However, I couldn't help but notice how poorly Wolfe has been guided in recent weeks.  The  struggle for Wolfe came when the Chelsea storyline came about.  The storyline was something many didn't seem to care about.  In the past weeks, Wolfe has lost quite a ...

When Pro Wrestling and Rock Join Forces

Posted by Jesus Rocha On July - 29 - 2010
Over the years, Pro Wrestling was just based on wrestling matches and promos, but things changed. Wrestling companies started to get bands and musicians to perform at their events. WWE, TNA, and WCW have had either bands or a musician perform. While some of the performances were great, others were just OK. Whether it was to introduce a new wrestler, perform the event's theme song, or play the national anthem, bands and musicians have rocked it out on the wrestling show. Prepare for Rock Awesomeness.Begin Slideshow

The Break-Up of Lay-Cool: Finally Coming?

Posted by Buzz On July - 29 - 2010
Hello Buzzers, Buzz is back with some major news. Two months ago, after enjoying various articles offered by talented writers on this site, I decided to write my first article with a hope of becoming an active member on B/R. As you see, it was about team Lay-Cool being announced as the co-women's champions by Vickie Guerrero. Since then, everybody expected one seemingly inevitable ending to this. The break-up of team Lay-Cool. Is there anybody on this planet who had other thoughts? It's fair to say that this team had some entertaining segments, whether on Smackdown or NXT, even though they sometimes act like 10-year-old girls. But let's ...

Pro Wrestling Countdown: SummerSlam’s Greatest Matches of All Time

Posted by Ross Rutherford On July - 29 - 2010
Hello everyone and welcome back to the latest edition of The Pro Wrestling Countdown. Today we will be looking at ten of the greatest matches that have come from WWE’s second best pay-per-view event of the year. Or maybe third best depending on whom you’re talking to. SummerSlam is generally considered WWE’s ‘blockbuster’ event. Every year they have stipulation matches and bring in big name stars to return like Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, or Bret Hart. This event has had a rich 22-year history and tons of fantastic wrestling matches and moments and I have taken care to showcase some of the ...
Hello, and welcome to the WWE Regurgitation, where we take a look back at some of the WWE's most memorable moments, like Wrestling Classics, but more culturally relevant. This episode of the WWE Regurgitation is sponsored by "Bamboo is thicker than Steel: The Definitive Punjabi Prison Match collection," featuring such Punjabi legends as the Undertaker, Batista, and the Big Show.
