Episode No. 1,000 Of Raw: Definitely Better Than Episode No. 900!

Posted by Jeff Awesome On September - 1 - 2010
As a fanatical WWE fan, I was inspired to write about the 1,000th episode of Raw the day after I saw the utter disaster that was the 900th episode. Initially, I was upset that I wasn't able to catch the 6 PM show out on the West coast. But I realized it was for the better: it absolutely SUCKED!  The only good part of the show was the Undertaker/Kane segment with Bret Hart and Nexus. But they were the only active big-name performers still there during the Attitude Era.  On the other hand, the 1,000th episode will have everything the 900th one did ...

It’s Official: John Cena Is an Evil Man

Posted by Jesus Rocha On September - 1 - 2010
These days, true wrestling fans hate John Cena. Many people hate how he is always in the main event and has more title wins than The Rock and Stone Cold. Prowrestling.net posted an interview with Vince McMahon by The Boston Herald. Here is the interview: WWE chairman Vince McMahon praised John Cena in a Boston Herald feature on the latter performer's career. "You have to start with the quality of the human being,” McMahon said. "John is an extraordinary human being; he’s honest, he’s loyal. "He’s full of himself, too,” McMahon added with a laugh. "But he’s like a throwback to the type ...
Due to the surprising success of my Ranking Every WWE Champion In The 21st Century article, I thought I might try to follow that up with another article that ranks Heavyweight Champions. The only difference is, instead of just focusing on WWE Champions in the 21st Century, I will showcase every champion to hold a Heavyweight Title for the WWE. I started to work on this piece last week, and it is quite long and packed with WWE history. As we all know, the highest honor any performer in the WWE can ever achieve, is being given the title World ...

Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan Talks His Passion for Pro Wrestling!

Posted by Matthew Hester On September - 1 - 2010
In what may come to a shock to some fans of the Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan is a huge pro wrestling fan. He recently did a spot with AAA. During his promo, he was interrupted by Hernandez and Alex Kozlov. Of course, this was a work, but it just goes to show you that even some stars love rasslin. He did an interview and discussed a variety of subjects. He talked about the angle with Hernandez and Kozlov. He also surprised me at just how knowledgeable of a fan he was. He talked about his days growing up in Chicago, his favorite ...

The Two Sheds Review: WCW/New Japan Collision in Korea

Posted by Julian Radbourne On September - 1 - 2010
It was the one-time meeting of legends as over 300,000 fans gathered over a two day period in April 1995 in Pyongyang, North Korea as World Championship Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling joined forces for Collision in Korea, with Mike Tenay, Eric Bischoff and Sonny Onoo handling commentary duties. The show began with 2 Cold Scorpio facing Wild Pegasus, otherwise known as he whose name must never be spoken again. An excellent opening encounter between two wrestlers in the prime of their careers. These guys were well suited to each other, and it’s a shame that they weren’t given much longer.Pegasus ...

Wrestlers Shouldn’t Involve Their Wives in the Business

Posted by Josh McCain On September - 1 - 2010
I'm sure by now many of you have read John Kindelan's fine article about Karen Angle, Kurt Angle's ex-wife, marrying Jeff Jarret.  If not here it is, http://bleacherreport.com/articles/447256-karen-angle-marries-jeff-jarrett. Go check it out. Reading it got me thinking, how many times have we seen a wrestler involve his wife or girlfriend in the business only to lose her; most of the time to another wrestler. It can get cloudy at times given story lines of a "fake" breakup, but this sometimes leads to an actual breakup. Lets run down the list (feel free to add ones I missed in the comments section): Kurt and Karen ...

WWE NXT Season 3 Analyzed

Posted by John Betschel On September - 1 - 2010
First off, before I start my article on season three of NXT I would like to congratulate Kaval for winning season two; he well deserved it and I'm happy that all his years of hard work have finally paid off. Now on to the article. WWE announced that season three will be an all-divas contest. This is a smart idea for WWE as they are lacking in the divas division, getting rid of one their top divas in Mickie James and with Beth Phoenix out with an ACL tear. Also the recent letting go of Serena, another female who was a pretty decent ...
In what was supposed to be the next installment of an upstart stable inspired by WWE NXT, building off any residual momentum that may or may not be left from the Nexus stable, the WWE rookies more than stubbed their proverbial toes as WWE NXT: Season 2 went out with a whimper.  What could have been a promising (yet tired) concept played out like a minor league cluster you-know-what on the WWE's minor league show.  From start to finish, the booking of the "Genesis" angle was handled poorly as Michael McGillicutty cut the second of two boring, uninspiring promos that ...

NXT Season Two Finale Review: All Diva Season Three and the New Nexus?

Posted by Jeff Langridge On September - 1 - 2010
The WWE might have a new problem on their hands. At the end of the finale of NXT Season Two, after it was announced that Kaval was the winner, the eliminated rookies of Season Two attacked. Although it was a confusing brawl, at one point Alex Riley used his finisher on Percy Watson; it ended with Riley, Watson, Husky Harris, Lucky Cannon, Titus O'Niel and Michael McGillicutty standing over a fallen Kaval. I'll get back to that later but first I'll talk about the rest of the show. The final three rookies, Riley, McGillicutty and Kaval had a triple threat match that ...
