WWE Match of the Year Candidate? Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler vs. The Miz

Posted by Stuart Broughton On November - 30 - 2010
-SATIRE- So what can we take away from this Monday's Raw? 1) The WWE doesn't care about the 'King of the Ring' after they put crown on an already established main-eventer instead of a giving it to a mid-carder to propel them to the top. Sheamus is already a two-time WWE Champion with the kind of prestige to get himeven more press so why let him win a tournament that is used to create superstars? Alberto Del Rio and John Morrison are the two stand out superstars that should have been given the win as they are one big win away from a ...

Why The Miz Winning the Title Is An Awesome Business Move For The WWE

Posted by Nick Pash On November - 30 - 2010
I’ve read a lot of articles on The Miz winning the WWE title this past week. Some were positive, some were negative. I think WWE made the right decision, and I do think The Miz is ready for the title, contrary to popular opinion. Why do I think The Miz winning the strap is awesome for the WWE? It’s simple, really. Look at how much the forums, not only here at Bleacher Report, but all over the web have blown up over The Miz winning in the past week. They certainly didn’t blow up this much over Cena being “fired” last week.  While ...

A.J. Styles: From Phenomenal To UnFourtunate

Posted by Sam Store On November - 30 - 2010
This time last year, A.J. Styles was the TNA World Heavyweight champion. He was TNA’s main face and he was widely considered to be the best wrestler in the world. He had just defended his title at Turning Point against Samoa Joe and Daniels in one of the best matches of 2009. Fast forward one year and Styles is a wasted heel, holding a worthless belt and lost in Ric Flair’s Fourtune faction. Styles has spent the last few months in an endless feud with EV 2.0, walking around in a suit and cutting promos. It all started going wrong for the phenomenal ...

WWE RAW Results, Questions and Comments (King of the Ring Edition)

Posted by Rob Belote On November - 30 - 2010
It's Monday Night, and if you were watching last week (or if you read my article and didn't see RAW), you know that tonight is a special THREE-HOUR edition of RAW which is sure to be AWESOME with the eight-man King Of The Ring taking place tonight!  Every week I do an article on my site (www.GuysNation.com) and here on Bleacher Report featuring my take on the RAW and Smackdown results.  Some people find it funny, but most people find it entertaining.  The GuysNation.com version features some of my favorite images from the evening and tons of polls.  Be sure ...

WWE: John Cena and the Top 10 Firings That Didn’t Last (With Video)

Posted by Big Nasty On November - 30 - 2010
In the WWE, being fired means next to nothing.  In fact, in most cases a firing is simply an angle that creative turns to when it can't think of anything else for its top talent. Often, being fired on WWE TV is a good thing.  It means you're part of a big storyline.  It means you're getting attention from the powerbrokers and your character is being further developed.  Getting "fired" in pro wrestling is usually quite meaningless.  Being 'future endeavored' is what should worry the typical WWE superstar.   Take John Cena for example.  Last Sunday at Survivor Series, tens of thousands ...

King Sheamus: Why Was He Booked To Win King of the Ring?

Posted by Rize On November - 30 - 2010
Tonight King Sheamus reigned supreme. In a tournament that featured some of the WWE's top talent, The Celtic Warrior regained his momentum by winning it all, besting John Morrison to become the 19th King of the Ring. While it's great to see Sheamus back on the right track, I believe it was a waste to resurrect the King of the Ring. The WWE had seven other options for KOTR but they chose Sheamus.  The possibilities were endless. But besides putting it on a Superstar it would've boosted, they put it on an already established WWE Champion in Sheamus. Let's face it. When a ...

Raw Gives Me Jubilation: The Miz and the WWE Pull Through

Posted by Gabe Mambo On November - 30 - 2010
The ratings better be high. They better shatter the roof. I only watched the last 25 minutes of a stellar three hour Monday Night Raw. And for once, I loved it. For once, I feel like a wrestling fan in his younger days again. I've been cynical about the WWE before. I've felt that they always fell short of the bar when it came to booking decisions. I always felt that the WWE was unable to pull off a great multitude of excellent matches and segments that were beyond the imagination of today's modern viewer. For once, I'm glad I was wrong. It's ...

My Thoughts Exactly: What Happened To the Era of Awesome?

Posted by Rize On November - 30 - 2010
When The Miz won the WWE Title last week, I wasn't surprised. Creative left signs throughout the whole night of a cash in. From Miz's "anxiety" attack to Orton guaranteeing Barrett wouldn't walk out the WWE Champion, everything was just so obvious. Personally, I hated the fact that Creative would pick RAW instead of a big PPV. That wasn't my only problem. When Miz won, people literally began losing their minds. Comparing him to the likes of Edge, RVD and of all people The Rock. They said it was a new era in the WWE. The Era of Awesome. While they chose to live ...

King of the Ring: Why John Morrison or Alberto Del Rio Should Have Won

Posted by Jack Windham On November - 30 - 2010
Earlier tonight, Sheamus won the King of the Ring tournament. Sadly, though, there were two choices that would have been much better. Either Alberto Del Rio or John Morrison should have been the one to sit in the throne at the end of the night. Those two guys needed the win a lot more than Sheamus did. When you win the King of the Ring tournament, your career gets a boost. That means that you're about to receive a push towards the main event. Sheamus already is on that level. Morrison and Del Rio are not. Morrison is on the verge of the biggest ...
