WWE Royal Rumble 2011: Looking Ahead To The Elimination Chamber

Posted by Rachel Miller On January - 31 - 2011
After seeing a exciting Royal Rumble PPV (in my opinion, anyway), WWE's next Pay-Per-View will be the second annual Elimination Chamber event which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Feb. 20 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Both the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship matches will take place inside Satan's Structure, in which two superstars begin the match with the four remaining competitors are being locked up in separate pods.At five minute intervals, one of the four remaining wrestlers within the chamber is released into the ongoing match. And so without further adieu, here is my projected Elimination ...

WWE Royal Rumble Results 2011: 7 Things We Learned

Posted by Stuart Broughton On January - 31 - 2011
So this Years Royal Rumble event has ended and people's intial opinion is poor. Though now it is time to reflect and wonder, as a viewer and a critic, of the WWE what we have learned regarding the companies choices leading towards the biggest event on the wrestling calendar, Wrestlemania!!!Begin Slideshow

Cody Rhodes: Is This the Last Time We See Him in the WWE?

Posted by Rachel Miller On January - 31 - 2011
On the Jan. 21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Rey Mysterio injured "Dashing" Cody Rhodes' nose, and as a result, missed the Royal Rumble.Last week on SmackDown, Rhodes shows an emotional side when he blamed "The Master of the 619" for shattering his dreams of headlining WrestleMania XXVII as he was interviewed by Todd Grisham (with his back turned to the camera).I thought that Rhodes might attack Mysterio in the Royal Rumble, but he didn't. Instead, he stayed home.Like many Bleachers, I don't know when the Dashing One is coming back. He was the main reason I watch SmackDown on ...

WWE Hall of Fame: The Case for Rick Rude

Posted by Kendrick Bryan On January - 31 - 2011
On April 2, the 2011 class of inductees of the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame will be enshrined. The Class of 2011 will be honored in Atlanta’s Philips Arena. Shawn Michaels leads the group of this year’s inductees, but the WWE has not named who will be joining him. Lex Luger, Ron Simmons, Sting and Jake “The Snake” Roberts are rumored to join Michaels on stage. However, only one possible inductee would be able to help the class be known as ravishing: Rick Rude (1958-1999). Rude competed for a number of promotions including WWE, the American Wrestling Association, World Championship Wrestling, Extreme ...

WWE: The Royal Rumble’s Failure To Live Up To the Hype

Posted by Rize On January - 31 - 2011
This year’s Royal Rumble will live forever as the first 40-man event.  Not only will it be remembered for that, but the night the WWE made a huge mistake. They gave the Royal Rumble win to Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio debuted in the WWE in the summer of 2010 and almost six months afterwards, he’s going to headline WrestleMania. While Del Rio was indeed the biggest mistake of the night, the WWE had two WCW legends debut to lackluster performances. Kevin Nash and Booker T made their expected returns to the WWE with huge pops from the Boston audience. Despite this, Booker ...

WWE Royal Rumble: So Close Yet So Far for Santino

Posted by Jack Donald On January - 31 - 2011
For one brief moment, I though the writers had made sense and were going to make Santino a proper superstar—that they were going to fill the next 60 days with Santino training, maybe getting a mentor as he prepares for his big chance. He could have gone on Raw the next night stating how he his the greatest and challenging anyone to face the great Santino, at which point, out comes Sheamus (or similar), who gets taught a lesson. The next week, out pops a legend, cuing a few weeks of comical training skits, and then he comes back to raw and ...

After a long time of proclaiming the world that it was his destiny, Alberto del Rio shocked the world when he eliminated Santino Marella Sunday night and won the 2011 Royal Rumble in his rookie debut. Brock Lesnar and Ric Flair also won their debut rumble and if history was to judge, our Mexican aristocrat will be champion in no time. The rumble is all about Alberto but there are also some WWE superstars who stood out and made this rumble special. Booker T and Kevin Nash returned to the WWE and even though they didn't have a strong showing, the road to ...
