Triple H: Does He Control the Spotlight That Shines on Him?

Posted by Micheal Robinson On February - 26 - 2011
Let me first say this: I respect Triple H, and I am a fan of Triple H. I am posting my top 10 wrestlers of all time this weekend, and he is higher than most people would think on my list. However, with Triple H's recent return, I can't help but think a couple of things. One: now that he is an official Senior Adviser of WWE and has an office at WWE Headquarters, how much control does he have on all of his storylines and matches? Conflict of interest, anyone? Two: even before his promotion in 2010, how ...

WWE Marks: Is Markism Benefiting or Plaguing Pro Wrestling?

Posted by Rize On February - 26 - 2011
We know them, we love them, even some of us dream to be them. Each pro wrestling fan has adopted a favorite wrestler over time. Whether it’s their ability inside a ring or their promos, we’ve all been WOWed by a pro wrestler at some point. Our favoritism gets to a point where we become marks. A mark is a hardcore fan that tends to defend, praise or complain about the certain wrestler’s position. Almost nine times out of ten, marks criticize others in favor of their Superstar.  A perfect example of this would be Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. A few ...
I have read some articles about TNA and particularly the comments bashing WWE being PG and John Cena. Many, including myself, are willing to see John Cena turning heel, but it just won't happen anytime soon. I even surprised myself by actually defending John Cena and the PG product. In fact, the more I think about it, the less I want Cena to turn heel. Anyway, they won't turn him heel just because of 10 percent of the fans, those "members" of the Internet Wrestling Community (IWC). And I'm generous when I say the IWC represents 10 percent of the WWE Universe. For ...

Devil’s Advocate: Five Common TNA Criticisms from WWE Fans That Should Stop

Posted by Christopher Morris On February - 26 - 2011
I'm not a TNA fan and doubt I will be anytime soon, but that does not mean that I feel TNA should be on the receiving end of hypocritical and unwarranted bashing at every turn.Unfortunately, when wrestling brand loyalists collide, the result is usually a series of poorly thought-out debates. What normally highlights these exchanges is a selective memory along with a blind support for WWE, TNA, ROH, or whatever. There's nothing wrong with brand loyalty, but there IS something wrong with hypocrisy, short-sightedness, and utter unfairness. One must be cautious in debate not to fall into these traps, and that means ...
What's up, Bleachers of Bleacher Report? My name is Eric Kanes and you are currently reading the most electrifying, awe inspiring, controversy securing, Heath Slater enduring SmackDown review on the net. Taped from Sacramento, California I present to you this week's edition of "Smack Talk." Now let's talk some smack! The show started off with a video package focusing on the firings of Edge & Dolph Ziggler last week, because SmackDown is the show where everybody gets fired. This video package is not a good sign as there is no mention of the segment with Edge, Del Rio, & Christian from Elimination ...

Hulk Hogan Is a Fading Star in Today’s World of Pro Wrestling

Posted by Craig Goldberg On February - 26 - 2011
Nostalgia is dying.  As technological advances further extend generational gaps, the act of being reminiscent of days gone bye is waning. It’s almost impossible to fathom a world without infinite information at our beck and call. It used to be that grandfathers could recount stories of the sports heroes of yesteryear, exaggerating the behemoth of Babe Ruth or the awe-inspiring presence of The Four Horsemen of Notre Dame. And so are gone, the old days of sports superstars.  There will be no room for embellishment in any one man’s legacy.    Every home run, slam dunk, and body slam will be forever printed ...
History is made every day, whether it is something small or something that will impact one's daily life forever. History is made so we as human beings won't retract and make the same mistakes. Sometimes, the past can help—to build and construct a bright idea. Pro Wrestling is one of those factors like many others to use history to build off of it. Maybe TNA Wrestling should take better notes then! TNA Wrestling entered the wrestling world in 2002 which was founded by Jeff & Jerry Jarrett after the decline of WCW...you all know the rest. TNA Wrestling seemed to ...
I've seen a lot of slideshows regarding who people think are the prettiest and most beautiful women in wrestling, but I've disagreed at times with who and in which order. Also, most of the time the only women compared are in the WWE, and I think even though the TNA Knockouts are widely thought of as better wrestlers, their stunning looks are often over looked. The rules for this slideshow were that the girls had to be current roster members and actually on the wrestling roster (meaning that interviewers like Christy Hemme and SoCal Val were not eligible to be included, even ...

Dark Side of Dashing: The Transformation of Cody Rhodes in the WWE

Posted by Amsterdam On February - 25 - 2011
When The Legacy broke up last year at WrestleMania XXVI, the future of one of the stable's members, Cody Rhodes, was uncertain. Unlike his former partner, Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes was never really seen as one of the company's favorites, and was expected to be the less successful of the two WWE Superstars once they both finally broke away from Randy Orton. But to the surprise of the WWE Universe, Ted DiBiase's solo career never took off. After the stable's break-up, DiBiase remained on Monday Night Raw. He was given both his father's Million Dollar Championship and WWE Diva Maryse as a ...
