WWE WrestleMania XXVII: Booking the Show

Posted by Jay McQuade On March - 1 - 2011
Yes, I hear the complaints in the wrestling universe that there is no build up to this year’s WrestleMania. The WWE ran into some issues booking the show and had to resort to some Plan Bs, it seems. I think primarily the fans are a little disappointed that the company wasn’t able to hire Sting. While I’ve also been caught up in the hype surrounding the star coming to the WWE to face the Undertaker, I don’t think WrestleMania needs him in order to still be an awesome show. Having said that, while the WWE has the widest variety of ...

Wrestling: A Wonderful Father and Son Pastime

Posted by Josh McCain On March - 1 - 2011
It's funny how the WWE can instantly hook a child's imagination. Some of my earliest memories as a child were waking up on Saturday morning in my feety pajamas, getting a bowl of cereal and watching WWF Superstars. I started out as a Hulkamaniac, but I was quickly amazed by the speed and talent of The Rockers—I've been a WWE fan ever since. Now, many years later, I'm a father of a two-year-old, who I named Shawn in honor of my all-time favorite wrestler—Shawn Michaels. Last night, we had dinner with my mother, who had just gotten back from a trip she had ...
Examiner.com is reporting that TNA's Jeremy Borash doesn't take kindly to people bashing TNA. According to the report Borash direct-messaged a Twitter follower, saying "I Hope Your Whole Family Dies." If you click on the examiner link above, you can see video of the tweet in question. This message was in response to the fan's criticism of TNA.  Apparently, this comment struck a chord with Borash, as he felt the need to respond to it. This is a surprise as JB is known to be one of the most fan friendly people in TNA. Borash did respond via Twitter stating; ...
Ever since speculation began that "The Game" Triple H would challenge the Dead Man, The Undertaker at WrestleMania it's been assumed that Shawn Michaels would be involved in some way. Many have assumed that Michaels will be the special guest referee, which is possible.  I just hope he doesn't were those tight booty shorts that he'd sport while reffing. Of course, if Michaels is involved in any capacity at WrestleMania, it would appear that the deck would be stacked against the Undertaker and his 18-0 streak. Even though 'Taker is going against the boss' son-in-law, I don't believe the streak is in any ...
The Undertaker is a legend for a lifetime. At some point in time, all of us have fallen in love with the Deadman, often marveling over the character that is the Undertaker. We all are equivocal about the fact that WWE will never be the same without its backbone, The Undertaker. Almost every writer here has written on the phenomena of the Undertaker. There are many factors that have made the legacy of Undertaker. His aura is something that transcends everything we have seen in the ring. His presence, his entrance, that famous gong, rolling eyes, so on and so forth, ...

WWE Made a Mistake by Having Triple H Bury Sheamus

Posted by Jack Windham On March - 1 - 2011
It might have received a nice ovation from the audience, but WWE made a mistake by having Sheamus be buried by Triple H on Monday Night Raw. In case you missed the episode, Sheamus came out during Triple H's promo. Upon entering the ring, Sheamus was completely dominated by Triple H. The skirmish ended when Triple H hit his trademark Pedigree on his nemesis and crashed the announcer table. The table wasn't the only thing that was damaged. Sheamus' momentum took the biggest hit. It's understandable that WWE wanted to build up Triple H as much as possible before he heads into his ...

WWE Raw: The Builds, the Burials and the Boredom of Buffalo

Posted by Amsterdam On March - 1 - 2011
Take a good look at the photo of John Cena to your right. Taken by WWE Champion The Miz with his phone during John Cena's steel cage match against Alex Riley, it is perhaps the only entertaining moment that happened during the taping of Monday Night Raw in Buffalo, N.Y., last night. It truly is a sad state of affairs when a filler feud between Raw announcers Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler garners a bigger reaction from the crowd than any other storyline. Considering that every other storyline involves actual WWE Superstars, and that we're also only a month away from WrestleMania XXVII, WWE's creative team should ...

Abdullah the Butcher Confirms Induction into WWE Hall of Fame in 2011

Posted by Christopher Dunfee On March - 1 - 2011
Although no one was introduced on tonight’s Monday Night RAW, there was confirmation of another inductee into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2011, and it took place following World Wrestling Entertainment‘s flagship telecast on a radio broadcast. While it isn’t “Bullet” Bob Armstrong, whom many anticipated after a tweet from former WWE superstar “Road Dogg” Jesse James earlier in the day, the news shouldn’t come as a surprise after several reports surfaced last week on a few different possibilities expected to receive the honor. Abdullah The Butcher confirmed to Arda Ocal tonight that he has been granted an induction into this ...

WWE Raw Review: February 28, 2011: The Rock Responds

Posted by Mike Shannon On March - 1 - 2011
So one of my wonderful readers, dlman91@hotmail.com, asked me to try a more “review-heavy” style instead of focusing on play-by-play. I’m completely fine with that because it lets me be a bigger smart-ass and allows me to focus on bad jokes instead of funny pictures. -As a quick aside: Al Snow had a great quote about so-called “smarks” last week. He said when asked what the best match at WrestleMania III was, most smarks will say Savage-Steamboat. Of course, they are wrong. The best match at WM III was Hogan-Andre because ...
