WWE Draft Results 2011: Randy Orton Moves and John Cena Stays

Posted by Tom Clark On April - 25 - 2011
So, Captain America and The Viper moved back to Smackdown. Well, at least it appeared they had. As I said in the column posted earlier today, while I expected John Cena to stay on RAW, I have learned to never say never when it comes to the business, and especially WWE. John Cena is the man, the prime focus of WWE, and the standard bearer for everything that company has become. He is the top guy. Then, out of the blue, he is the first trade, and he’s headed back to Smackdown. But, no, at the very end of the program, Cena is ...

WWE News: Cena Drafted Back to RAW in the 2011 WWE Draft

Posted by Big Nasty On April - 25 - 2011
In a move that is sir to stir up the Internet, John Cena was drafted back to RAW in the 2011 WWE Draft.  The move doesn't make sense in terms of a standard draft, as the PWTorch will probably belly ache about given the fact that they think pro wrestling is real, but it does makes sense in terms of the fact that the SmackDown roster was absolutely loaded prior to Cena being re-drafted. The move to draft Cena could have very well been Vince McMahon changing his mind once again before the show went off the air, but both rosters ...

WWE Draft 2011: Is Beth Phoenix On Her Way To Raw?

Posted by Adam Wells On April - 25 - 2011
Did WWE Website Spoil A Draft Pick Tonight? With the WWE draft set to commence tonight, there are a lot of rumors running around about who is going to go where. Of course, the only person who really knows anything is Vince McMahon. If history is any indication, he is going to hold his cards very close to the chest until the announcements are made on television. There was one notable gaffe that happened on the WWE website that could be taken as a sign of one potential move for tonight’s draft. From WrestlingObserver.com: I'm guessing this was a mishap but ...

WWE Draft 2011: News, Spoilers, Results and Analysis From Monday Night Raw

Posted by Blake Oestriecher On April - 25 - 2011
With the growing gap between NFL players and owners, let's forget about Thursday's NFL Draft. We're just hours away from the one that we really care about, the 2011 WWE Draft. Though some would argue that the WWE Draft doesn't really matter much anymore, because numerous wrestlers consistently appear on both Raw and Smackdown anyway, the event still brings a certain feeling of excitement to wrestling fans across the world. Who's going to move to Smackdown? Will Raw come away from this year's draft loaded with main eventers once again? Will the world champions switch brands? The intrigue and uncertainty are definitely there. So, ...

WWE Draft 2011: Why Doing It the Week Before a PPV Is a Bad Idea

Posted by Josh McCain On April - 25 - 2011
Personally, I've never been a fan of the WWE brand extensions and, therefore, the draft.I think separating the talent to two different shows cuts out a lot of possibilities for feuds in the WWE and actually suppresses rising talent instead of helping them out. With that said, the brand extension and the draft are ways of life in the WWE, so I've grown to accept them. However, what boggles my mind is that fact that we're going to "shake things up" a week before a pay-per-view.After all, the WWE is fairly predictable as it is.  Most of us can figure out who's going ...

WWE Draft 2011, The Rock, John Morrison and Monday’s WWE News

Posted by Adam Wells On April - 25 - 2011
Today could be the most important day in WWE in a very long time. The WWE draft takes on much more importance this year, given the talent rosters being as depleted as they are. Vince McMahon needs to make sure that he is placing his talent on the right shows that will help them succeed. Some see the retirement of Edge, combined with the loss of a number of other top guys in the last year, as a bad thing. I view it as a good thing because it actually forces WWE to get behind new talent. For the first ...
The 2011 WWE Draft is nearly upon us, and we the fans are doing what we usually do. We're discussing the potential possibilities of moves, and debating what Superstars should go to which program. While I enjoy the speculation as much as the next guy, what I find just as intriguing is the flip side of the conversation.  Which Superstars aren't going anywhere? Love him or hate him, John Cena is WWE.  He is the proverbial face of the company, and that directly translates to being the top guy on their flagship program, Monday Night RAW.  Logic dictates that he's ...
Hey, Bleacherholics!Last time we actually saw Desmond Wolfe competing in a TNA ring was around August last year. Since then, we have had numerous reports about his disappearance from television. Magnus of TNA Wrestling, during a show, claimed Desmond Wolfe had a tryout for Chelsea Football Club (a soccer club, to you Americans) in an attempt to become a dual athlete, and lately, Hulk Hogan stated on Twitter:"Desmond's situation is beyond TNA's control, the ball is completely in his court."Though a return was reportedly in the books when reports and rumors were running rife that Wolfe was backstage of Impact in December filming a promo with then ...

WWE Role Reversal, Vol.3: How the Y2J Bug Has Affected the IWC’s Health

Posted by Marc Mattaliano On April - 25 - 2011
See below for past installments in my Role Reversal series of articles, a history of where this series has gone and where else this series could go. Thanks, enjoy and feel absolutely free to debate to your heart's content. If I'm going to blaspheme hard enough to say CM Punk shouldn't be pigeonholed as a natural heel, as I did in Vol. 1, I feel compelled to give similar spotlight to one Christopher Keith Irvine, more commonly known as "The Lionheart" Chris Jericho. Many say he was born to play a heel. Me? I say it's a good fit, but sometimes he tried too hard. For ...

WWE Draft 2011: Analysis and Aftermath of Last Year’s Event

Posted by Graham 'GSM' Matthews On April - 25 - 2011
On April 26, 2010, the WWE landscape would be changed like never before. Or did it?In arguably the worst Draft events to ever take place in WWE history, the night consisted of eight Superstars and Divas swapping nights in an attempt to recreate magic the previous years had set before. It wasn't able to reach its highest potential by a long shot, and its lackluster results would certainly pay the price as 2010 progressed.I've said it before, and I'll say it again: having Superstars bounce from brand to brand lessens the value of the Draft, and that was a major ...
