William Regal started off the show by Introducing us to The Empire Alliance. The group is made up of William Regal, Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Mason Ryan and a mysterious unknown female. Mason Ryan defeated Trent Barreta in a squash match. Sheamus and Drew McIntyre defeated The Uso's in a good tag match. Wade Barrett was scheduled to compete against Kane. Before the match start, Barrett attacked Kane and put him through the announce table with a Wasteland. Cody Rhodes defeated Ezekiel Jackson after Ted DiBiase hit Jackson ...
Wrestling fans everywhere are still buzzing over CM Punk's "shoot" promo at the end of Raw on Monday night. WWE decided to give the reins to one of its best performers and let him go out there and tell the world why he was leaving the company after the July 17 Money In the Bank show. But the most important part of this angle, even more than the actual promo, is the follow-up.Obviously, there has to be something really, really compelling that gets people talking about what the angle could be, but we have seen this happen so many times ...
Any wrestling fan has some pieces of memorabilia, but only legit fans have a lot of those items. Here's a list of wrestling memorabilia you should have if you are a legit wrestling fan.If you have at least one item listed you're a casual wrestling fan.If you have all but the last three, you are a legit wrestling fan.If you have absolutely all of them, you are a hardcore fan.And if you have collections of all items, you work for a wrestling company (or know someone that does).Begin Slideshow

TNA Impact Wrestling Is Being Felt Across Enemy Lines

Posted by David Levin On July - 1 - 2011
Last night proved once again that TNA Impact wrestling is moving at a more consistent pace. The show was exciting from the opening bell and provided another dose of charisma that had been missing in months past. Dare I say it, but maybe Eric Bischoff, Vince Russo and his cast of characters finally know what they are doing. While the “Bound for Glory” series is getting the push and attention it needs to sustain itself for the next three months, the “Destination X” PPV, coming up in two weeks, is taking center stage in what I hope will be the ...
Just in case you haven't heard by now, I thought I'd remind you that CM Punk cut one of the best promos ever on Monday, a worked shoot that will undoubtedly go down in wrestling history. In fact, that promo has stirred up an intrigue in the WWE product that hasn't been seen since the Nexus invaded Raw last year. It's also stirred up a ton of debate, too.Wrestling fans across the world can't seem to stop talking about Punk's promo, whether or not he meant what he said and if it means that he's indeed leaving the company.Well, I honestly ...
Tag team wrestling is not what it used to be. In fact, many argue that the division is at an all-time low. From odd couples like Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov to thrown together teams like Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel, there is not a lot of consistency in tag teams anymore. The current champs, David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty, are being deemed by some as one of the worst tag team champions in WWE history. That might be a little bit harsh considering all of the random tag teams that have happened in the history of the belts.Whether they were the ...
I have to say, I have never been a Mark Henry fan. That’s not to say that I have anything against him, I don’t. In fact, I have never really had anything to say about him either way. Most of the time, when I see him, I think, “Oh, there’s Mark Henry. OK.”Not that the sight of a 400-pound mini Mack truck walking on two tree trunks doesn’t impress me, far from it. The guy’s chest is the length of an interstate highway. But, I have to be honest. It’s Mark Henry. The way he has been presented in the past, the ...
World Wrestling Entertainment Tag Team Division. Six words that have nothing to do with each other. For what seems like an eternity now, fans have been lamenting the slow death of tag team wrestling in the house that McMahon built. Gone are the classic matches of the past, when Edge and Christian battled The Hardy Boyz and The Dudleyz in epic TLC matches. The company’s focus on tag teams had arguably never been bigger, and the teams responsible for bringing fans to their feet also put money in the bank. Those were the days.Impact Wrestling, in addition to being known as the ...

Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair: The Feud That Never Was

Posted by Justin Murphy On July - 1 - 2011
I know what you are all thinking: The feud that never was? What about their brief encounter in WWE and their feud in WCW? And how about their recent Australian tour and current run in TNA?Yet these version Hogan-Flair feud are missing the point of what could have been. While their WCW feud was indeed a solid run, they were both in their early to mid 40s and the wrestling business had entered a ’’dull’’ period after the fallout from the much-publicized steroid scandal, of which Hogan was the star witness who offered testimony to exonerate Vince McMahon. Their tour of ...
Remember when the WrestleMania XXV main event fell flat on its face, and the lasting impression that WWE's fanbase was left with was how tired and repetitive WWE had grown? With Triple H and Randy Orton, in a match that has been done time and time again, closing WrestleMania XXV by failing to out-do quite possibly the greatest WWE match of all time between Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker, it became painfully obvious that it was time for a change—especially at the top.  WWE answered aggressively with a youth movement that became effective almost immediately in 2009.  Vince McMahon and Co. ...
