WWE Path to Greatness: Changes That Could Sky Rocket WWE’s Ratings
On August - 6 - 2011
Hey, Bleachers. I am writing a series of articles about ways that WWE could bring their ratings back to a higher level. This is going to be broken up into parts, with each change consuming an article. My first article is about The RAW and SmackDown Rosters.I was doing some counting on WWE.com/superstars and I learned that there are 12 superstars on RAW that should fight and are worthy to fight for the WWE Championship. They are: Alberto Del Rio, Alex Riley, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, John Cena, Rey Mysterio, R Truth, John Morrison, CM Punk and Evan ...
Sin Cara and 7 Wrestlers Who Should Pray WWE "Future Endeavors" Them
On August - 6 - 2011
So it looks like the WWE is doing its yearly purging of talent. This time DH Smith, Vladimir Kozlov, Chris Masters, Melina, and (by her own decision) Gail Kim were selected to "future endeavored."But there are other wrestlers on the bloated WWE roster that should get on their knees and pray the "E" decides to give them a pink slip rather than another paycheck. Then maybe these guys and gals can wrestle for different promotions (not just TNA, there are other places they can go) where they will be more appreciated and possibly even paid better.Begin Slideshow
WWE: Is Mick Foley the Best Candidate for the Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak?
On August - 6 - 2011
It will not come as a surprise to many if the king of hardcore, Mick Foley reappears on our WWE television screens anytime soon. There have been rumours for months that he would make his return, even dating back to when he was in TNA. The decision by the WWE to advertise his book, Countdown to Lockdown, whilst in TNA, still baffles the mind, given that Vince McMahon is so insistent on not mentioning his competition. The man that first graced our screens as Mankind in 1996 and then as Dude Love and Cactus Jack, was an instant hit with ...
WWE Smackdown: Randy Orton Continues to ‘Get Got,’ Other Hits on Show
On August - 6 - 2011
The 8/5 edition of SmackDown (I got it right this week) was certainly above average if you ask me. The thing that stood out the most was the fact that Randy Orton got pinned cleanly by Christian. It's quite rare for that to happen. The last time I remember Randy losing cleanly was Extreme Rules 2009 when he went against Jack Swagger. But I'm actually quite sad that he lost. Usually when a babyface begins to lose momentum he ends up winning at the PPV he faces at. And it seems to be the situation here. I could only hope ...
WWE Opinion: Commentators Show Distinct Lack of Styles
On August - 6 - 2011
Get ready to fly!No, not that Styles. After June 27, the day the WWE stood still, there were several articles on Bleacher Report recapping some of the greatest shoots of all-time. My favorite of these shoots, and the one I found the most true was delivered by ECW announcer and Deity proprietor (Oh my God!) Joey Styles. Before he left RAW for the burgeoning ECW brand, Styles went on an on-screen rant where he quit RAW, told the Spirit Squad to screw off and finally called out King and J.R. over the announcing technique—he pointed out how they talk about the stories ...
TNA: Should Impact Consider Hiring the WWE Castoffs?
On August - 5 - 2011
Could one company's loss be another company's fortune? In terms of wrestling brands, it may be just what TNA needs in continuing to push the envelop in terms of competing with the WWE. And in light of recent decisions by Spike TV to rebrand itself and change some of its format, gaining any momentum for TNA would be a good thing. Impact has been riding a wave of success lately with its PPV events, Slammiversary and Destination X and is about to embark on another potential moneymaker in Hardcore Justice. But last night's television program was weak at a time where ...
Melina, Gail Kim and Other Divas Are Victims of Inequality Within the WWE
On August - 5 - 2011
As I bet many of you have now have heard, two talented female wrestlers were future endeavored from the WWE.Melina was never the most popular Diva on the roster in the eyes of the fans, due to her personal sexual life being controversial and stating she should have been featured at WrestleMania instead of Trish stratus.Gail Kim, on the other hand, is universally liked by nearly all WWE fans. We know she can wrestle better then the majority of the Divas, and I bet she could probably wrestled better then most of the men on the roster. She barely ever ...
WWE: Has the Women’s Division Begun a Revival Process?
On August - 5 - 2011
It is a known fact that WWE's female division has sharply dropped in talent and entertainment in the past year or so. Matches like Trish vs. Lita would not steal shows, but it would be quality women's wrestling, which I loved. When the Divas match came on during the Money in the Bank PPV, I walked out of the room and returned when it was over. That wouldn't have happened three years ago. In July 2011, Goldust (Dustin Runnels) was placed in charge of the Diva's division. I was a bit skeptical as I was never a Goldust fan, but this ...
WWE Smackdown Report: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly
On August - 5 - 2011
This was a pretty weak SD! show. Usually it is top notch program for the Blue Brand, but tonight was not one of those nights. There is not much to say, so let's just dive right into the best segment, worst segment and the "Is Vince Russo Back?" segment... The Good: Sheamus and Mark Henry. Anything these guys do is gold. They are both on fire, and SummerSlam should be a great brawl. Sheamus just about kicked The Great Khali's head off in his match, and Henry beat Kozlov right out of the company. Kudos to both men and exactly what ...
WWE: Why a RAW Pre-Show Could Be Bad for Business
On August - 5 - 2011
During the recent second quarter conference call, Vince McMahon stated they are considering a live one-hour show before RAW.We don't have any information on what sort of show this could be, however there are still numerous concerns I have about the idea.Firstly, the quality of the show has to be up to the standard of RAW, otherwise it would be a waste. We've seen what happens when the WWE doesn't follow through on ideas. Shows like NXT, Superstars, and the late days of ECW lacked effort overall. The last thing the WWE needs is another useless show they don't seem to ...
