WWE Smackdown: 5 Ways to Shake Up The WHC Scene

Posted by TJ Nagy On September - 24 - 2011
A lot has changed recently on the blue brand. At Night of Champions, we saw one of the biggest upsets of the PG era when Mark Henry defeated megastar Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship...clean.It took Mark Henry 15 years to finally get to the top of the mountain, and for old-school fans, it's definitely a very gratifying sight to see The World's Strongest Man finally hold the strap. He's put in his time and his effort for as long as any wrestler in the WWE today, and he deserves to finally get his chance to shine. However, even though his ...

WWE News: The Undertaker’s 6 Most Likely Opponents at WrestleMania 28

Posted by Imaan Jalali On September - 24 - 2011
Some may argue the Undertaker has taken the coveted crown of "Mr. WrestleMania" from Shawn Michaels, but just about everyone would agree The Undertaker's streak at 'Mania has surpassed even the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships in terms of importance. In recent years, the Undertaker's matches have not only been the most anticipated but have also been worth the hype. And now with a little over six months remaining, and with the Undertaker's storied career winding down, it's that time of year again when we explore the Undertaker's possible opponents at WrestleMania 28.Certainly, I'm not going to entirely discount the chance ...

WWE: What’s Next for The Miz & R-Truth After Supposedly Getting Fired?

Posted by Josh Barnett On September - 24 - 2011
WWE has an excellent opportunity here, if they handle it right. Many people are assuming that Miz and R-Truth are a part of a conspiracy, along with John Laurinitis, to take over WWE from Triple H.  I originally came up with a plan for the company, based on the possibility (and assumption) that both these men could actually be fired and gone for good. It could, in my mind, be better for the company, as it would give an opportunity for guys like Mason Ryan and Drew McIntyre to have some TV time. But I cannot argue now that ...

WWE SmackDown 09/23/11: The Good, the Bad and the Meh.

Posted by T. Schaefer On September - 24 - 2011
WWE SmackDown came from Dayton, Ohio tonight.  If you need a recap, hit up Kaleb Kelchner's excellent recap.  Let's get on with it. The Good: + Sheamus/Slater.  Quick match that served to put Sheamus over.  Nice to see Slater get some offense in, though, which is a little bit of a change.  Sheamus seems to be developing his own "Five Moves of Doom". + Gabriel/Barrett.  Another quick match to put over Wade.  I'm a little surprised they had Gabriel job clean, but Barrett needed the victory more then Justin.  Not really much else to say, but was a bit of fun. ...

Daniel Bryan is one of the greatest wrestlers in the world. There is very little doubt that he is the best wrestler in WWE today. When Daniel Bryan won the Money in the Bank briefcase, the emotion on his face told the whole story of his journey to this point. He has been beaten, crippled and shot down for a decade. Now it is time to finally shine.Bryan is planning to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania, to finally get his moment at the "Grandest Stage of Them All."Lately, Bryan has been on a bit of a losing streak, ...

Notes from a Fangirl: Dear IWC, WWE Wants You to Hate Cena

Posted by Double A Tate On September - 24 - 2011
In wrestling, much like life, there are good guys and bad guys. When you are a kid it is very cut and dry.  The bad guys always carry dynamite, tie damsels to the train tracks and twist their mustache menacingly. As you get older and lose your kid-vision, you learn the bad guys don't always twist their mustaches, sometimes it's the clean shaven, squeaky clean neighbor tying you to the tracks and dynamite really is not that common.  Sometimes it is hard to distinguish between the good guy, bad guy and the guy you just don't like, and the same can ...

How is Mick Foley Still Alive?

Posted by Anthony Rizzuti On September - 24 - 2011
He may not have been the best "wrestler" in the business, but it's safe to say that nobody did it like Mick Foley. No one took a chair shot like Foley, no one hit the ground harder than Foley and no one absorbed a beating quite like Foley.Whether it was Mankind, Cactus Jack, Dude Love or just plain Mick Foley, there will never be another one.So in honor of the most hardcore performer in the industry, here is a list of Foley's greatest incidents. After going through this list, it'll leave you thinking...how is Mick Foley still alive? Begin Slideshow
Tonight on Smackdown, Randy Orton and current Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes had a match for about the third or fourth time.I'm not sure if creative is seeing just how well Rhodes can handle a main event star like Orton or what, but that's not important right now.The match itself was fairly quick. The two had a nice back and forth, Rhodes managed to get Orton on the ground. This is when the action started.Rhodes started fiddling with the ring post and got caught trying to take the padding off. The ref gave Rhodes a stern talking to and turned to ...

10 Wrestling DVDs You Need to See/Own Before You Die

Posted by Ryan Sz On September - 23 - 2011
For many fans of pro wrestling, there are items that one must own to feel like a real fan.Things like t-shirts, action figures, replica belts are among some of the common things that a fan will own and may even show off to fellow fans (especially the action figures, admit it you have). But as fans know, especially older ones, being a fan of pro wrestling can sometimes make you friends or coworkers look at you like you're the kid who ate glue in kindergarten. So for fans who know that they can't show off their wrestling figures to a member of ...

My WWE Hell In A Cell Predictions

Posted by Sam Watkins On September - 23 - 2011
Just two weeks after "Night Of Champions," WWE will be presenting us with "Hell In A Cell." Last year, we saw Randy Orton vs. Sheamus for the WWE Championship, Kane defeat Undertaker with help from Paul Bearer, and John Cena join Nexus after being defeated by Wade Barrett. This year, we already have a few announced matches, but the rest of the card is fairly predictable due to the limited time between this and the previous Pay-Per-View event.Begin Slideshow
