WWE: The 50 Most Awkward Storylines in Wrestling History

Posted by Kevin Berge On October - 8 - 2011
Awkward is defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary as lacking social grace or insurance or causing embarrassment.Let's face it.Pro wrestling promoters make a lot of mistakes.Sometimes you have to question the intelligence of the creative decisions by any pro wrestling organization. They cannot always be trusted to make smart and funny decisions.Someone on that booking stuff just loves jokes about everything from being fat to being dead. There are many thorns in pro wrestling history which are not entirely equaled by the roses. For every Rock, there is Santina and Heidenreich. For every Stone Cold, there is Jillian Hall and Shelton Benjamin's mom.The following ...

WWE WrestleMania 28: Another Top Match Being Advertised?

Posted by Imaan Jalali On October - 8 - 2011
As everyone is well-aware of by now, the WrestleMania 28 hype train has been charging at an unprecedented rate since The Rock vs. John Cena was announced. It's the mecca of marquee matches, privileged with the power to bend time and close a generation gap that has been widening further in the last six to seven years. And now a new "main event" match has potentially been added to that night's festivities. According to two early ticket holders of WrestleMania 28, the Sun Life Stadium in Miami (the site and host of the event) recently sent out an e-mail advertising not only ...
On June 27, 2011, the pro wrestling world came to a screeching halt.  In the closing moments of Monday Night Raw, one man was responsible for bringing wrestling fans to the edge of their seats, in a shocking moment that none of us will ever forget. That man is CM Punk, and with only a mic, and 5.90 seconds, he ushered in a new age in WWE. The “Reality era” began with the promo heard around the world. Since then, nothing has been the same.Punk went from being a Superstar whose future in WWE was questionable and uncertain at best, to ...
WWE is in full-on protest mode in what seems to be a wrinkle in their current power-struggle angle directly influenced by the current Wall-Street protests.  The correlation between the two protests makes now a more than an appropriate time to debut the latest stock watch piece as a handful of wrestlers surge in the face of WWE's top angle, while others fall by the wayside. The current union storyline affords a generous handful of wrestlers opportunities to shine in an otherwise crowded crop of heels and babyfaces, who have legit beefs with the Triple H era on Raw.The latest stock watch ...

Hello everyone! I'm back with more statistics, this time for the WWE Vengeance PPVs. WWE SmackDown 10/07/11: The Good, the Bad and the Meh

Posted by T. Schaefer On October - 8 - 2011
WWE SmackDown came from beautiful Biloxi, Mississippi.  Coming on the heels of the Hell In A Cell PPV, it would deal with the aftermath of both the PPV, and the infamous "walk out" by the roster on Raw. Overall, the show needed a ton of explanations, a lot of matches and some good old fashioned storytelling.   How did they do?  Let's find out.   The Good: + No Michael Cole on Raw?  During the Cara/Del Rio match, Cole said he would not be on Raw unless Triple H stepped down.  Given that Triple H isn't apparently stepping down, I sincerely hope Cole ...

The Bucket List: Christian

Posted by Paul McIntyre On October - 7 - 2011
In my last edition (the first one) of The Bucket List, I pondered four different objectives that Kane should achieve before his looming retirement occurs. Next, I decided to to create a Bucket List article for a man whose had something of a breakthrough year in WWE.That man is Christian. Now, calling this year a breakthrough for Captain Charisma may be something of a controversy. Emotions seem to have finally lessened where his catastrophically poor Championship reign is concerned, though ask most fans online and they would still explain bitterly, and in great detail, about how Christian was screwed over in favour of ...

Professional Wrestling: To Some, Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number

Posted by Tyson Jones On October - 7 - 2011
Professional wrestling is in a bit of a slump lately, though the general consensus is that things have picked up in recent months. Ring of Honor is now on television with a new TV deal, Impact is doing very well with some of it's new guys (not all but some,) and WWE has been doing some incredible storytelling as of late. That said, one issue that both WWE and Impact seem to be under scrutiny for, is the lack of pushes for the younger guys in the back. The guys who'll be the future of these organizations in the next 10 ...
The Internet is a wonderful place.  Thanks to sites like Google Scholar, Justia, The Public Library of Law, The Wrestling Perspective Legal Project, and others, a variety of lawsuits, legal opinions and other legal filings are now easily accessible online.  Using various keywords, it's easy to find filings from various famous cases involving WWE or the pro wrestling business in general.Pro wrestling being pro wrestling and WWE being WWE, it's not surprising that many of these texts feature interesting bits of trivia, bizarre or ridiculous accusations and claims, etc.  Making sure to avoid anything heavy on legalese, here are a ...
