WWE Survivor Series 2011: 2 Matches That Will Steal the Show

Posted by Thad Novak On November - 19 - 2011
As usual, the titular match of tomorrow’s WWE Survivor Series—pitting Randy Orton’s five-man team against Wade Barrett’s—will be overshadowed by a full slate of title matches around it. Of course, in this year’s edition, even the title matches will take a back seat to a tag-team duel featuring the event’s two biggest headliners on the same side. Here’s a look at the two highest-profile matchups for the pay-per-view event:   Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk Of the four title matches set for tomorrow, this showdown for the WWE heavyweight belt looks likely to be the most entertaining. Del Rio ...

Survivor Series Rumors: nWo Will Make Its Return to WWE

Posted by Donald Wood On November - 19 - 2011
The return of the nWo has been rumored for months, but if there was ever a time for its reincarnation, none would be more fitting. Survivor Series is one of the biggest pay-per-views WWE puts on every year. There is no better place to make a huge move like brining a stable as well known as nWo back. Don’t forget the media exposure of the event taking place at Madison Square Garden in New York City or the fact that one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today will be making his in ring return after seven years rocking the ...

WWE Survivor Series: Why John Cena Needs a Gimmick Change More Than Ever

Posted by Adam Hassan On November - 19 - 2011
Whether you love John Cena or dislike him, there is no denying that he is one of the most polarizing figures in WWE history.Quite to some viewers' dismay, John Cena has been at the top for a number of years now. Throughout his tenure as the face of the company, John Cena has garnered a tremendous amount of attention, both positive and negative. Whenever John Cena's infamous music hits, the crowd often erupts into both cheers and boos. But that's all wearing thin. While John Cena continues to embody a lovable boy-scout type character, a lot of fans are beginning to lose the strong ...

John Cena at WWE Survivor Series: The Rock Will Bring Out the Best in Cena

Posted by Michael Cahill On November - 19 - 2011
There is plenty of debate on whether or not Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson should be back in pro wrestling considering the fact that he isn’t back in full time but rather that he is dipping his toes in it. Still, if we have learned one thing from Cena’s feud with the Rock, and really his whole time with the WWE, it’s that guys like The Rock really bring out the best in the man who is the face of the WWE.  You don’t have to like Cena, and if you are over the age of 15 there is a good ...
When I first heard that The Rock would be teaming with John Cena at Survivor Series, I had mixed feelings. While I was obviously excited at the prospect of The Rock returning to the ring, my initial reaction was that it would ruin his return at WrestleMania. I suppose that I figured one of the most special aspects about The Rock’s WrestleMania return is that it would be his first match in eight years. The more I thought about it, though, the more I realized that the Cena vs. Rock match is going to be special no ...

WWE Survivor Series 2011: WWE Needs More Traditional Survivor Series Matches

Posted by Brandon Galvin On November - 19 - 2011
WWE pay-per-view events are quickly losing their appeal. Vince McMahon’s conglomerate produces too many and so many pay-per-views that they all become a blur at this point. Fans yearn for the days when the booking team had ample time to create compelling storylines, instead of just throwing together matches in the week leading up to event, like currently. Most WWE pay-per-views feel like exaggerated RAW or SmackDown events, generally because fans are greeted to the same match right before or after the event. At this point, there is no reason for fans to “pay-per-view” unless there is a grand stipulation. McMahon already ...
THQ’s long-running WWE franchise, formerly WWE SmackDown vs. Raw, has been rebranded for this year as WWE ’12. The wrestling simulation (featuring Randy Orton, pictured, on the cover) is set to release on Tuesday, and the changes being made appear to be more than cosmetic. As expected from any yearly sports release, THQ is touting new, even more realistic animations and presentation, but looking like a WWE broadcast hasn’t generally been a problem for this series. In the past, the TV-style presentation has (if anything) gotten in the way of the in-ring action with its emphasis on roster management and ...
Wrestling fans always strive for the best. We believe that our favorite company is the best in the world. The top superstar in our eyes is above everyone else. Most importantly, we swear that we know exactly what will happen in matches. Even if we are right some of the time, we are closed-minded wrestling fans.Wrestling promotions pay guys to show us who is the new top guy and why he is going to win. Last time that we checked, those writers get paid from the company and the naive wrestling fan not only doesn't get paid, but contributes to paying ...
When The Rock returns to action at Survivor Series on Sunday night, there will be electricity running through the veins of the entire WWE Universe. At the same time, it will be bittersweet because there are full-time workers that will be left on the sidelines in favor of the People's Champ. Even though some of the company's recent storylines, including the dissenter movement, have been intriguing enough to tune in on a weekly basis, Rock's return always takes the show to another level. That should tell Vince McMahon something about his product. If it takes The Rock, Triple H and ...

WWE Rumors: Rob Van Dam Interested in a WWE Return?

Posted by Justin Watry On November - 19 - 2011
Well, I can't say I am shocked. According to this report, Rob Van Dam is "seriously considering" a return to WWE. He debuted with TNA on March 8th, 2010, before winning their top title a month later. All of this comes from the official Twitter account of PowerSlam wrestling magazine. My thoughts on this rumor? I am torn. On one hand, his TNA run has been a disaster. He was given the TNA title a month after debuting. His matches never seemed enthusiastic, and I just have lost interest in RVD over the years. It has been about 15 years of ...
