Michael Cole and Jim Ross took part in the “Michael Cole Challenge” on Monday Night RAW. Even though he won only one of the three competitions, Cole emerged victorious in order to save his job as lead announcer on WWE's marquee program. However, something bigger appears to be on the horizon for Cole. He's played a major role is the current dissenter movement and the company could be setting him up to become a bigger character—perhaps a manager in the same vein as Vickie Guerrero that could help some of the struggling heels get more heat. While he's a better ...
Wade Barrett is the next great heel superstar in the WWE. That is, as long as WWE allows him to be. The only way to get Barrett on the right track is to have him pin Randy Orton and lead his team to victory at Survivor Series 2011. Barrett started off with a phenomenal bang with the Nexus, but has since been an afterthought on WWE programming. We all thought he was going to rise the ranks against after defeating Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam, but he was thrust back into obscurity on the second-rate SmackDown brand. Barrett has finally emerged ...

The decision to have The Rock be a focal point of Survivor Series 2011 was a great decision by WWE, and it is one that will make the event must-see television. The Rock is a legend of wrestling and what better way to make the 25th anniversary of Survivor Series special than by him making a return to the spotlight at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The Rock will partner with John Cena and the two will square off against The Miz and R-Truth in the tag team match. No wrestler has a better personality and lights up an arena like ...

WWE Survivor Series 2011 Predictions: The Rock Will Crush John Cena

Posted by Josh Schoch On November - 19 - 2011
When Johna Cena and The Rock partner in a tag-team match tomorrow at Survivor Series, the two will turn on each other, leading to a devastating loss. The plain and simple truth is that these two can't stand each other.  Their rage has built up after multiple verbal attacks on each other. Adding fuel to the fire, back in April, The Rock cost Cena the title at WrestleMania 27, helping the Miz keep his. Now, these two are supposed to work together to win this fight, but I can't see Cena forgetting about how The Rock cost him the title less than eight ...

Matt Hardy Kicked out of WWE-Sponsored Rehab for Drinking & Sent to Jail

Posted by David Bixenspan On November - 19 - 2011
TMZ reported last night that after a little under two months in a WWE-sponsored inpatient drug rehab program, Matt Hardy was kicked out yesterday. This violated the terms of the release agreement that he signed after being arrested on drug charges in September, so he was sent home to North Carolina, arrested at the airport for violating a court order, and escorted to the Moore County Detention Center, where he's being held on a $1 million bond. Reportedly, staff members at the rehab facility were suspicious of Hardy's behavior and gave him a breathalyzer test, which he failed. Hardy insisted that ...
It wasn't long ago that Zack Ryder was a glorified jobber who was alternating appearances on Superstars with an occasional squash loss on Monday Night RAW. He had a YouTube show in which he would showcase new puns he thought of as a way of saying he was being overlooked by the WWE. But look at him now. It's rare a segment on the company's marquee show goes by without Ryder making an appearance, whether to show off his excitement for getting to team with John Cena or to convince people to sign his United States Championship petition. However, the ...
The WWE universe has a fever, and the only prescription is more Zack Ryder. That’s right folks, the WWE brass has decided to let Dolph Ziggler pull double duty for the second PPV in a row and not only participate in the classic Survivor Series match, but also defending the US title. While this is very uncommon, the fact that this is the second PPV in a row means that the WWE trusts in Ziggler more than they’re letting on. The WWE has made the US title match Dolph Ziggler defending his title against John Morrison. Instead of the WWE ...

WWE Survivor Series 2011: Previewing and Predicting This Sunday’s Event

Posted by Erik Beaston On November - 19 - 2011
The Survivor Series—for fourteen years, it has been the most controversial show on the WWE's pay-per-view calendar. Beginning with the Montreal Screw Job (which has apparently earned its own capitalization) in 1997, each year the annual November event gives fans something to talk about the following day around the water cooler at work or on the playground at school. This year will likely be no different. The Rock makes his highly anticipated return to the ring for the first time in seven years. CM Punk looks to add to his collection of WWE Championships in 2011 by defeating Mexican aristocrat Alberto ...

John Cena Survivor Series: Why He’ll Be Overshadowed by The Rock

Posted by Nicholas Goss On November - 19 - 2011
John Cena will be overshadowed by The Rock on the two stars' tag team at WWE Survivor Series 2011, and this is a situation that will make Cena turn on the former legend. The past animosity between the two will surely be a story throughout the event, and despite what fans might want, I doubt Cena and The Rock will become friends at this event. Is Cena's ego going to be able to handle all the attention and spotlight focused on The Rock? I would doubt it, and that's why this tag team is a recipe for disaster. The Rock will look to cement ...

WWE Survivor Series 2011: WWE Is Destroying Zack Ryder with PPV Absence

Posted by Brandon Galvin On November - 19 - 2011
WWE is quickly destroying one of their most popular wrestlers, Zack Ryder, by deliberately excluding him from arguably the second biggest pay-per-view extravaganza of the year. Survivor Series 2011 is a star-studded event that features the return of The Rock to in-ring action, yet somehow, Ryder inexplicably doesn’t have a match? Blasphemy. Ryder is essential to WWE’s midcard and deserves proper placement at the event after his remarkable ability to take his "Jersey Shore" gimmick to the next level. The fans yearn to see him throughout their show, as evident by the constant cheers and echoing of his "Woo Woo ...
