The professional wrestling industry has no shortage on the embittered and rant-happy. Sure, it can be an ugly business with unhappy endings, and those who choose to sound off about its pitfalls have every right to be heard. But there eventually comes a time where it becomes necessary to move on. When I see fit, I will single out those who have abused their piss-and-moan privileges, claim that they should cease all complaints and/or diatribes and live what's left of their lives. Taking cues from an old Chris Jericho ...

WWE Network News: Steve Austin and Mick Foley to Star in Their Own Shows?

Posted by Imaan Jalali On November - 12 - 2011
The WWE recently sent out a survey to fans detailing 17 show concepts under consideration. Two of them would feature "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Mick Foley as the stars.According to PWTorch.com, here's the premise for the proposed show involving Austin:"Stone Cold" Steve Austin and a beer expert visit a different local brewery, pub, or beer fest each week in a different U.S. city. This sounds like a lot of fun. If "The Rattlesnake" isn't on a film set or hunting, he's drinking copious amounts of beer. It's right up his alley and, quite frankly, it would be interesting ...

WWE SmackDown 11/11/11 Minutia: Critique, Thoughts, and Grade

Posted by T. Schaefer On November - 12 - 2011
SmackDown was filmed in Liverpool, England.  Hit up Kaleb Kelchner's blog for a rundown and wwe.com for various segments. With less than two weeks to Survivor Series, they need to get moving on various angles and feuds.  They've been on a roll as of late, based on the strength of the in-ring product.  But this show must build momentum going to the hard sell next week for PPV.  Shall we? The Good + Sheamus/Christian.  The match was alright, and there was enough variation in their routine to keep it fresh.  But the WWE needs to blow off the feud at Survivor ...

WWE SmackDown Results: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Posted by Justin Watry On November - 11 - 2011
WWE SmackDown was a great show tonight. I enjoyed it a lot more than this week's WWE Raw. I am just going to try to ignore Monday night moving forward. It was that bad... Tonight had something for everybody, and it finally started making Survivor Series feel special next weekend. With that being said, let's dive into the best (and worst) parts of the show!  The Good Mark Henry and The Big Show are proving why they are veterans worthy of still being on WWE TV. These two are doing a great job. Mark Henry continues to prove all the ...

WWE SmackDown: Why Is Aksana Trying to Manipulate Teddy Long?

Posted by Giulio Romano On November - 11 - 2011
It's Friday, boys and girls!I'm watching SmackDown as I write this piece, at the same time continuing my awesome "Happy Hour."I just watched the skit involving Alicia Fox, Aksana and that dope of a general manager, Teddy Long. Real talk! What was that!? Is he blind or under a spell? Aksana wants your position and all your power old man! I suppose WWE has decided to go with an old, familiar angle where the gorgeous woman seduces the man, takes his power, and while he thinks he's in love, she leaves him with nothing. That sounds like a song I was listening to earlier."What ...

WWE Cannot Find a Replacement for Undertaker After He Retires

Posted by Jack Windham On November - 11 - 2011
Just like fans of every other television show out there, wrestling fans like to speculate. They like to speculate on stories and characters. They also like to speculate on the performers themselves. The promoter's job is to keep fans speculating. One of the biggest speculations in professional wrestling over the last few years has involved the Undertaker and his imminent retirement from the business.Fans want to know how someone so legendary can be replaced. They also try to figure out who in the business today can fill those shoes. Those speculations need to stop. Undertaker cannot be replaced.First of all, it's quite disrespectful ...

Two Sheds Review: Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor IX

Posted by Julian Radbourne On November - 11 - 2011
It’s time to step into Ring of Honor territory once again as we take a look at the DVD release of their most recent internet pay per view, with the Briscoes taking on the All Night Express in the main event of Death Before Dishonor IX. Tag team action began the show as the Embassy’s Tommaso Ciampa and Rhino faced off against Homicide and TV Champion Jay Lethal. This was one of those short-and-sweet encounters that has become a tradition in ROH over the years. It didn’t last long but it was full of action. All four men put in ...
Welcome to the live blog for WWE Friday Night SmackDown, November 11, 2011 edition.First thing's first: No spoilers in the comment section please.  Myself and those who have managed to remain unspoiled greatly appreciate it.A bout between World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry and SmackDown Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan is advertised for tonight's show.  With Team Orton vs. Team Barrett announced as the traditional Survivor Series match at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view, it's no stretch to predict that we'll see developments on that front.  It's not quite the star studded match early rumors had led fans to believe it ...
Each week, the contributors at GuysNation discuss the things that I feel are the bigger topics of the week in the world of professional wrestling. Typically it's RAW and SmackDown, but there could be Ring Of Honor and TNA Impact thrown in as well. This is the discussion for 11/11/11.What do you think about the pairing of R-Truth and The Miz? Future tag team champions, decent stop gap solution until bigger/better things open up for them, is it a waste of talent or do you not really care for one / both of them? Jeremy M: I ...
I wasn't sure how to react last night after watching Impact and the "tame" promotion of the Turning Point PPV. Maybe TNA should limit its PPV  events and build up more to earn more of a draw. But what I did see on Impact was a mild build-up and a pretty good ending that allowed AJ Styles to become prominent again in the promotion. Maybe the bitching he did through his Twitter account paid off for him and the fans. Because of the "injury" sustained last night by James Storm that will put him out of action for six weeks, ...
