Hi all in Bleacher land,I have not written in a while and in part this is because there has not been much in the wrestling world that has gotten me excited lately.  But I must confess, the hype surrounding this year's WrestleMania XXVIII and some of the interesting comments made here on BR has inspired me to take hand to keyboard and throw my two cents into the ring as it were and comment on the two premiere matches at WrestleMania XXVIII, fellow wrestling fans have to say. Undertaker V Triple H:  A tale of Two LegendsThere have been quite a ...

WrestleMania 28: Is the Undertaker vs. Triple H Truly the End of an Era?

Posted by Michael Guadalupe On March - 24 - 2012
When the Undertaker and Triple H square off in a Hell in the Cell match at WrestleMania 28, it will undoubtedly be a match for the ages. With the history and experience between these two future Hall of Famers, especially when it comes to a Hell in the Cell match, there should be no reason to expect anything less than perfection. But regardless of how good this match ends up being, does it really symbolize the end of an era? Here are some things to consider before deciding for yourselves:  The Attitude Era Has Already Ended The Attitude Era has ...

WWE: Why the Time for the Miz to Turn Face Is Now

Posted by Ross Bentley On March - 24 - 2012
To the surprise of no one, The Miz took the pin again on last night's episode of Friday night SmackDown after eating a viscous brouge kick by the No. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus in the main event. If my calculations are correct, that makes 12 consecutive television defeats for Miz whose sole purpose for even being in the match was to take the pin since all of the other men in that match will be in main-event type matches at WrestleMania and could hardly afford to get pinned with just nine days remaining before the event.Just a year ...

Forgotten Installments of the WWE’s Most Beloved Stipulation Matches

Posted by Robert Aitken On March - 24 - 2012
Gimmick matches are such great sells to fans that WWE has implemented many of them into themes of entire pay-per-views. Some have become common staples of pro wrestling, such as the steel cage match. Others, like the Inferno match, for example, are seldom seen and become an event in themselves when it occurs. The number of Hell in a Cell and TLC matches grows every single year, but many wrestling fans can seem to talk about pretty much any instance of a match like that taking place. Hell in a Cell adds one more chapter at WrestleMania, but can you recall ...

WrestleMania 28: Looking Back at Greatest Matches in PPV Event History

Posted by Richard Langford On March - 24 - 2012
If there is just one match at the upcoming WrestleMania that is close to being as entertaining as one of the next three, than this event is going to be a huge hit. That is much easier said than done. These matches are the best the event has ever had to offer. They had the intense drama out of the ring, and the action inside it to make it all worth it. So, with WrestleMania 28 ahead of us, it is a good time to look back on three of the matches that have helped make this event what it is.  WrestleMania 3: ...
Seven days, one week, until one of the biggest and most hyped nights in WWE history.WrestleMania XXVIII, a night where for the first time in WWE history, four different matches can be considered main events of the evening. A night where the Rock, Triple H and the Undertaker will make their in-ring returns after months away. A night where anything can happen. You can feel the excitement everywhere. Current fans are abuzz about the night like they rarely ever have been. Former fans are coming back in now to talk about the night. Even people who are not even wrestling fans ...
Over the past few years, the older section of WWE fans have begged, and at times demanded, for the former WWE Champion, John Cena, to turn heel after spending the better part of his career as a babyface or a good guy. In a recent interview with the London Free Press in Canada this week, the leader of the CeNation addressed those calls for him to leave behind his fan friendly persona and become a heel in the WWE. From PWInsider.com via London Free Press: "I'm not a bad guy. I generate so much hatred just because of the way ...

WWE News: Reviews, Analysis and Rumors for Week of March 18

Posted by Mike Chiari On March - 24 - 2012
Excitement is mounting as the biggest event in wrestling, WrestleMania, is now nearly a week away. The WWE is starting to tie up the loose ends in terms of the build toward Mania, and there is certainly no shortage of events and news to talk about. All the matches are set with the exception of a few moving parts, but there is still plenty of hyping left to do. All of the main feuds progressed on RAW and SmackDown this past week, while the undercard continued to take shape as well.In addition to all of that, the WWE Universe is abuzz ...
As was officially announced last week, at this year's WrestleMania event, the duo of Eve Torres and current Divas Champion Beth Phoenix will take on the team Kelly Kelly and non-wrestler Maria Menounos, host of NBC's showbiz recap show Extra.  The bout came about after Torres and Phoenix, both disgruntled over what they perceived as Menounos' snubbing of them, stormed the stage of Extra at The Grove in Los Angeles while the host was in the middle of interviewing Kelly.  In a deeply heated and well-performed confrontation, the pair challenged the host and Kelly to a match at WM, which the gusty Menounos, never one to back down from a fight, readily ...
Let me put up a few notes before I begin: 1. I am a huge fan of Sheamus. The man is going to be a major star one day. 2. Daniel Bryan has been doing some great work recently. As I first talked about back in November when he was turning heel, it would be an interesting ride. 3. Finally, I am talking in a sense of "kayfabe" here. That being said, last night's SmackDown confirmed my early thoughts. Bryan is losing to Sheamus at WrestleMania, just as he should. On top of that, it is not going to be much of ...
