WWE: Five Questions Coming from Monday Night Raw

Posted by Chris Featherstone On June - 26 - 2012
On this episode of Monday Night Return, we saw streaks broken, wrestlers returning and "historical" announcements. Vickie Guerrero staked her claim as the General Manager, and two No.1 contenders for the WHC were established. With Money in the Bank three weeks away, the participants for the WWE Championship ladder match were solidified, and the WWE Title match for the event is official. From the aftermath of Raw, here are five questions that urgently need answers: Is Brodus Clay's knee his ticket to Jobberville?Since his "Funkasaurus" debut, Brodus Clay has been red-hot, harpooning through competition with relative ease. This past Raw, we saw his ...

Former WWE Star Ric Flair Involved in Domestic Dispute with Wife

Posted by Sharon Glencross On June - 26 - 2012
As Prowrestling.net reports, former WWE star Ric Flair was involved in a messy domestic dispute with his wife Jacqueline on Monday night. As Charlotte, N.C., news site Wcnc.com notes, Charlotte police claim that Flair (real name Richard Morgan Fliehr) was assaulted by his wife at around 9:40 p.m. last night at the couple's condo near the South Park Mall. Per the report, no one was taken to the hospital, nor has anyone been arrested in connection with the incident yet. A report from Wbtv.com notes that "The Nature Boy" phoned the police on Monday evening and asked them to come to the condo to intervene.  As the Wcnc.com article states, this is not the first ...
Wade Barrett entered the WWE back in 2010 as a relative unknown, but it soon became quite evident that the British star had what it took to become a future world champion.Barrett was immediately thrust into big angles, and he more than held his own. He has yet to reach the top of the mountain, but Barrett remains one of the fastest risers in the company.A dislocated elbow has kept Barrett out of action for the past few months, but he promises to be a major factor as soon as he returns.Barrett seemed to be on the verge of a ...
Sycho Sid's road back to wrestling prominence was a long and arduous one. He hadn't competed in the WWE since 1997, and he hadn't wrestled in a major promotion of any kind since WCW in 2001, but his return victory over Heath Slater on RAW gave him the closure that he deserved.Despite his somewhat limited wrestling ability, Sid carved out a nice career for himself in the wrestling business. He was a two-time world champion in both WWE and WCW, and he was a main-eventer in both promotions for a fairly brief period of time. He wasn't a technical marvel ...

Chris Jericho Returns to Raw and Metal Gods Don’t Get Ring Rust

Posted by John Kindelan On June - 26 - 2012
Last night John Cena cut one of the greatest promos of all time as he went over recent events but tied the entire thing to Star Wars. Not once did he stumble. It flowed out of him with such ease you would have thought there was a teleprompter in the ring. I'm sure even the Cena haters had to sit there and say this is fantastic, but before we could get the conclusion of the Star Wars tirade, Chris Jericho interrupted John Cena.Jericho was conveniently suspended over a month ago due to an incident in which he disrespected the Brazilian ...

WWE Monday Night Raw 1000: Why Shawn Michaels Deserves a Star’s Welcome

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Doctor On June - 26 - 2012
WWE has been building up its epic 1000th episode of Raw in recent weeks by showing clips of past shows, bringing in legends and having the announce team hype it at every turn. With guys like Vader and Psycho Sid making one-time returns to demolish Heath Slater, it would make sense for people to start speculating as to who will appear on the actual 1000th show on July 23. There are plenty of legends who had an impact on Monday Night Raw who would make great guests, but few were as important to WWE and Raw in its darkest days as Shawn Michaels, ...

Sid Vicious: Greatest Hits of Sycho Sid’s Wrestling Career

Posted by Justin LaBar On June - 26 - 2012
After 15 years of not being on Raw—Sid is still as psycho and vicious as ever. As part of the build to the 1,000th Raw, Sid returned on the historic Monday night program for the first time since July of 1997. While he may never come up in debate as one of the best ever, Sid certainly has left his mark on the industry. Sid knows his character and has a standout look, and that is what has always made me excited to see him whenever he's made one of his several returns to WWE and WCW. What made Sid ...

John Cena: Why the WWE Superstar Deserves a Lighter Schedule

Posted by Nick Houser On June - 26 - 2012
John Cena—the face of the WWE franchise, one of the most polarizing figures in sports, a workhorse and a fan favorite—needs to do himself a favor and take some time off.Not too much time, of course. As the biggest seller of merchandise, the biggest draw and the wrestler who represents the company, Cena can't take on The Undertaker's schedule of wrestling once a year.Still, if he hopes to stick around for a while, he'll need to lighten his load.Obviously, with the recent announcement that Cena is throwing his hat into the Raw (or WWE Championship) Money in the Bank ladder match, he ...
The cat is out of the bag. It was announced Monday night by Raw interim general manager Vickie Guerrero on her Twitter account that CM Punk will defend his WWE Title against Daniel Bryan at Money in the Bank. As if we thought this would not happen. While this is the third time we have seen these two competitors challenge each other with the title at stake, it proves the WWE is trying to continue to cash in on the two best technical wrestlers in the business today and the rivalry they have continued to build over the past few months. Congrats to the ...
WWE.com currently has a poll up asking "How would you like to see AJ involved in the WWE Championship Match between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan at Money in the Bank?"The poll choices are: 1) Guest timekeeper 2) Guest referee 3) Guest ring announcer 4) Guest commentator Currently, 76 percent of those polled would like to see AJ be involved in the match as guest referee.Who could blame them? Fans obviously want AJ to get involved in the match and no other option gives AJ more involvement in the match. What option did you vote for? Do you like the idea of AJ as guest referee?Personally, ...
