What If WWE Replaced John Cena as the Face of the Company?

Posted by Tom Clark On September - 29 - 2012
How do you do it?How do you create a WWE Superstar from the ground up, building him one promo, one match, at a time?  How do you present him in the right way, making fans care about him, so much that they can’t get enough of him?  How do you then base the entire company around him, counting on his popularity, and his ability to draw a crowd, to be financially successful? And, after you have built John Cena, how do you replace him?Vince McMahon is actually the man who can answer that question.  But, he’s ducking my calls.  Dude owes ...

The man Chris Jericho would be training had an interesting look and it seemed right away that he would be one of the favorites. That man was Wade Barrett. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to my weekly SmackDown recap list. I always appreciate my loyal readers, but for those of you who are new, each week I recap SmackDown with a long list. I tried a bit of a different format last week which was met with mixed results. I appreciate everyone who offered feedback. I am going to try that format again this week but attempt to improve upon it again. Let me know what you think of the format and if I should do it this way or the old way going forward. Instead of one continuous list, ...

WWE: Why Sheamus vs Big Show Is Good News…for Dolph Ziggler

Posted by Travis Taylor On September - 28 - 2012
It's official: Sheamus will face The Big Show at Hell in a Cell. While most fans are dismayed, this is couldn't be better for Dolph Ziggler.Big Show's match win over Randy Orton on SmackDown, where he was awarded the right to challenge Sheamus for the world title at Hell in a Cell, is a puzzlement at first.Consider: The Hell in a Cell match is a beast. Since it first debuted at Badd Blood in 1997, there have been a total of 25 of these matches, 22 of them on PPV. Ever since Shawn Michaels defeated The Undertaker in the first ...

Randy Orton, WWE Studios Begin Production on ’12 Rounds: Reloaded’

Posted by Michael Brumagin On September - 28 - 2012
If you watched WWE SmackDown Friday night or if you were in attendance for the taping on Tuesday night in Buffalo, N.Y., you saw The Big Show destroy Randy Orton with two massive choke slams and the Weapon of Mass Destruction. The Big Show was in control most of the match, even though Orton landed an RKO.Seeing Randy Orton get completely dismembered, you may have gotten that foreboding feeling that, perhaps, he might be out of action for a while. That feeling may have been validated when The Big Show called out the World Champion, "Sheamus, I guess I'll be ...

Why Sheamus Can’t Be the Star of the Next Generation’s WWE

Posted by Shea Haney On September - 28 - 2012
I don't think Sheamus has what it takes to carry the WWE into the future.Sheamus, the current World Heavyweight Champion, has received a very quick push to the top of the SmackDown roster. He has won over many fans since his current title reign started at WrestleMania 28. He, along with Randy Orton, have carried the face characters on SmackDown for the past year or so.Can he maintain this momentum? That has yet to be seen. The WWE needs to start grooming the next generation's John Cena. Cena is rapidly approaching 40 and his time as a full-fledged roster member may ...

Kelly Kelly: The 6 Biggest Reasons We’ll Miss This WWE Diva

Posted by Sharon Glencross On September - 28 - 2012
In case you haven't heard by now, Kelly Kelly, poster girl for the WWE and one-time Divas Champion, was officially released earlier today. The news has caused more of a stir than your average WWE release, and for good reason. Indeed, while it may be easy for some fans to dismiss Kelly (real name: Barbara Blank) as simply another generic blond Diva with patchy in-ring skills, the fact is during her seven-year stint, she amassed a decent body of work and helped create some very memorable moments. In fact, we believe her absence will create a massive void in the company for a few reasons. With this in mind, ...
