WWE Raw Results: Ryback Will Not Face CM Punk Any Time Soon

Posted by Hector Diaz On October - 2 - 2012
Ryback’s recent encounters with CM Punk are simply smoke and mirrors. He made his surprising inclusion in the WWE Championship storyline last week after CM Punk assaulted Mick Foley backstage. Nothing was said between the two. In fact, the interaction, or lack thereof, only lasted for about five seconds. Last Monday’s edition of Raw featured Jim Ross appreciation night which CM Punk and Paul Heyman later interrupted. It is only fitting that Ryback once again stepped in CM Punk's way to defend the WWE great. Much like the previous week, no words were exchanged and the champion walked away as ...

WWE Analysis: What Is the Best Way to Use Santino Marella?

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On October - 2 - 2012
Normally, when someone asks a question in a headline, they already know the answer or at least intend to try and answer it. In this case, I honestly have no idea how WWE should be using Santino. Now that Santino is not the US Champion and does not look like he will be getting the title back any time soon, there is the problem of figuring out what to do with him now. Santino is the Doink of this generation in many ways. He may not cover his face in clown make up, but he has been relegated to a ...
Ryback's push to the top of the card continued on Monday night as he came to Jim Ross' defense after WWE Champion CM Punk bullied him. It remains to be seen what all of this is leading up to, but it is quite clear that there are fairly big plans for the freak of nature known as Ryback.Although Ryback has done little more than squash jobbers for the past several months, the WWE appears to be trying to elevate him to the next level. John Cena is currently out of action due to an elbow injury, and the writers have ...

WWE: Why the Encore Might Become a Force in the Company

Posted by Bryan Haas On October - 2 - 2012
Much to the chagrin of former United States champion Santino Marella, The Encore played one last song on last night’s episode of RAW. Unfortunately for Marella, that tune was played on his beaten and defenseless body. The group, consisting of Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal has been terrorizing their opponents for several weeks now, normally ending in a gang beating from the three superstars. With last night's match between Slater and Marella, very little changed. Once the Milan Miracle seemed to be in firm control of the match, McIntyre and Mahal entered the fray and the beatdown began. ...

Batista’s MMA Debut: Meet the Former WWE Star’s 1st Opponent

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On October - 2 - 2012
Following in the footsteps of Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley, former WWE champ Batista (real name: Dave Bautista Jr.) will follow a pro wrestling career with one in MMA. Batista is set to fight Vince Lucero on October 6 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. It will be the main event for CES MMA: Real Pain which will show on Direct TV pay-per-view. His original opponent was to be Rashid Evans (no, not the famous one), but as TMZ.com reports, Evans was arrested for violating his probation. Insert Mr. Lucero. Lucero has more than 40 fights on his ...

WWE News: Batista Takes a Shot at the Miz in MMA Interview

Posted by Max Towle On October - 2 - 2012
In a recent interview with MMAJunkie.com, Batista was asked what he thought about the current state of the WWE (via Wrestling Inc). His response was as inflammatory as it was uninhibited. He said that he doesn't watch the WWE anymore because it's all "Real World kids who are more concerned with how their hair looks and how much baby oil they have on." The comment is an obvious shot at current Intercontinental champion The Miz, who first got his name in the public spotlight on MTV's reality show, "The Real World: Back to New York," as well as for his ...
Despite watching every TNA Impact Wrestling over the last year at least once and being a fan since the beginning, last week’s episode was one of the most disappointing in a long time. With just two weeks until the company’s biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound for Glory, TNA isn’t convincing anyone that they should be ordering this event. Impact Wrestling should be reaching the homestretch of the build, not just starting it.If there were ever two episodes of any show that could save the last month of poor build, it would be the next two Thursdays of Impact Wrestling. ...

WWE Raw Results: The Tag Team Division Is Alive and Well

Posted by Adam Nystrom On October - 2 - 2012
John who? That was my thought as WWE Raw went off the air last night. CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler, Kane and Daniel Bryan all shared the main event and ended the show with Kane and Bryan (Team Hell No, if you prefer) once again bickering over who "is the Tag Team Champions." While the two of them will probably never agree on who should be holding both belts, I felt like a winner myself after seeing the most attention paid to the WWE Tag Team Championship in what seems like forever. The last time a tournament was held for these championships was when ...
In less than four weeks, it’ll be Sheamus vs. The Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship at Hell in a Cell. Wow. Even just typing that sentence was boring. Before I get criticized for not even really giving this feud a chance, let me start by saying that—even though I’m already bored by it and don’t see that ever changing—I get why the WWE is doing it. Big Show is seen as a reliable veteran, and without a ton of obvious feuds lined up for Sheamus, it at least makes some sense for the two to feud during the ...
