“He took the time to give my child the memories he took to heaven with him.”Sometimes, it’s not about the wrestling.  It’s not about the high spots, the finishers, the main events, or the grand spectacle of the WWE attraction. It’s not about the drama, or the storylines, the angles or the promos.  Sometimes it’s not about WWE at all.Sometimes, it’s about the men and women behind the characters.I know what you’re probably thinking and to just to confirm your suspicions, yes, this is a column about John Cena.As if the headline and pic just didn’t totally give it away. But for ...

WWE TLC 2012: This Needs to Be the End of WWE’s Themed PPV Events

Posted by Hector Diaz On November - 30 - 2012
Any casual WWE fan can now tell you what stipulation the next pay-per-view main event will be. All they have to do is look at the name of the PPV.  WWE’s upcoming event is Tables, Ladders and Chairs, which will undoubtedly feature at least one match involving one or more of its namesake foreign objects.  So far, WWE has already announced two matches. The main event is a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match between WWE champion CM Punk and Ryback. Current World heavyweight champion Big Show will be facing Sheamus in a tables match as well.  These two matches, in particular, are the results ...
What I have learned over the years from watching professional wrestling and the comments and stories written on the Internet is that I do not trust everything that is posted. So when a thought comes to mind that is completely out of left field or that contradicts something a wrestling website or publication has posted, please understand that I take it with a very thin grain of salt. That said, would you like to hear the most recent theory I have on how “The Shield” and Brock Lesnar are connected? Would you like to hear how I believe that ,while they claim ...
The World Heavyweight Title has not always played second fiddle to the WWE Championship. Back when the company's two world titles were very much brand-exclusive, the former often closed out pay-per-view events, and could even be seen as the most important of the two during certain times. WrestleMania 20, 21 and 24 all culminated with the World Heavyweight Championship match. In recent years, however, the waning of the brand-extension and the death of Raw and Smackdown as distinct competitive franchises within the company has arguably led to the gradual downfall of the company's second world title. While the World Heavyweight Championship remains ...

8 Superstars Who Should Become the Next WWE King of the Ring

Posted by Graham 'GSM' Matthews On November - 29 - 2012
Since 1985, WWE's King of the Ring tournament has been one of the most elite and prestigious competitions ever held in wrestling. From notable names such as Harley Race to Triple H to Stone Cold Steve Austin, the tournament would almost always guarantee the winner would become a future legend or a top name in the business. It was held as an annual event from its inception in 1985 to 2002, where it even received its own pay-per-view for close to a decade. It was brought back every two years starting in 2006 but hasn't been revived since 2010 for some ...

WWE WrestleMania 29: Why Triple H Should Stay Retired

Posted by Jersey Strong Jay On November - 29 - 2012
Welcome to the first of many WrestleMania 29 opinion pieces that I will be publishing right here in the home state of WrestleMania 29, New Jersey! After the effects of Hurricane Sandy here at the Jersey Shore (I live right outside Seaside Heights), WrestleMania 29 becomes even bigger than it was going to be here in Jersey. The positive effect that it will bring to the greater NY/NJ area will be much needed. In this piece, I will explain to you why Triple H should leave himself off this coming WrestleMania event. Each year after Survivor Series is said and done, I ...

WWE Analysis: Could Sin Cara Turn on Rey Mysterio?

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On November - 29 - 2012
The tag-team division is heating up in WWE and one of the premiere teams is the dream pairing of Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio. The two lucha libre stars are exciting in the ring together and Mysterio has definitely helped Sin Cara acclimate himself to the WWE style. Since nothing lasts forever, it stands to reason that at some point in the future the team will go their separate ways. With Rey being a long-time WWE babyface, it seems more likely that if someone were to turn on the other that it would be Sin Cara. Sin Cara may be ...

Kayfabe Commentaries: Jerome "New Jack" Young Shoots from the Hip Again

Posted by Julian Radbourne On November - 29 - 2012
If I were to mention the name New Jack, you’d probably think of the ultra-violent former ECW star Jerome "New Jack" Young, as he beat the hell out of an old man and stabbed a fat kid in the head with a scalpel. If I mentioned him in the context of shoot interviews, you’d probably say something along the lines of, “He’s a good talker, but do we really need another shoot from him?” Given that New Jack has retired, it’s time for the man behind the heavily-scarred forehead to step forward and give his view. Jerome Young has done just ...

Sin Cara: The High-Flying Superstar’s Long Road to Relevance in WWE

Posted by Hector Diaz On November - 29 - 2012
It is never easy to go from laughing-stock to serious competitor in such a short amount of time, but Sin Cara has done just that. Before he was Sin Cara, he was Mistico—the high-flying luchador hailing from Mexico City whose popularity resulted in getting his own comic book. Unfortunately, the popularity did not follow the newly-named Sin Cara to WWE programming. His first few matches were against the smaller WWE talent in order to showcase his skills.Odd lighting and all, Sin Cara showed that he had the athleticism to thrive, but he botched moves very often. He obviously could ...
