Comedy Roast and Remembering of Pro Wrestling in 2012

Posted by Justin LaBar On December - 31 - 2012
2012 in the world of sports entertainment was certainly not without entertainment. It's time to roast what we learned, enjoyed, questioned, look forward to and suffered, all in the name of remembering the past year of professional wrestling. There were some interesting identity problems in 2012. Fans chanted Albert at Tensai. Fans chanted Goldberg at Ryback. Ernest The Cat Miller gained 150 pounds of funkiness. Abyss sat in the crowd as a lawyer known as Joseph Parks. While all this confusion of identity is still going on, TNA is still trying to pass off Garett Bischoff as a pro wrestler and ...

The Rock Will Win the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble

Posted by Sharon Glencross On December - 31 - 2012
At next month's Royal Rumble pay-per-view, look for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to walk out of Phoenix, Arizona as the new WWE champion. Heck, in the erratically booked WWE, this may be one of the few things you can be sure of.There are a few reasons why a Johnson title victory—his first since 2002—looks inevitable. Indeed, it may have been inevitable since the star first announced that he was getting a shot at the WWE Championship back in July at Raw 1000.First of all, readers probably don't need to be reminded that Johnson is an undisputed A-list movie star. Thanks ...

WWE 2012: 9 Things That Went Right the Past 12 Months

Posted by David Levin On December - 30 - 2012
Believe it or not, not everything this year in professional wrestling was an abject failure. While there were several misses throughout the year in the WWE (not to the point of Oz or Vinnie Vegas or Glacier) that left us scratching our heads, there were some good things that came out of 2012 the company can hang its hat on.And while we are trying to get over the poor Christmas Eve program and the attempt to sabotage Christmas and the return of Tensai, the WWE can look to these events or programs which made headlines for the company and help some ...

WWE WrestleMania 29: Who Will Brock Lesnar Fight This Coming April?

Posted by Jersey Strong Jay On December - 30 - 2012
A big question going into this coming WrestleMania is who Brock Lesnar will fight during the huge event. While Brock currently is "not under contract" to WWE within the context of the storyline, he has been widely advertised. This question has probably been posed right here on Bleacher Report at least once. However, in the interest of fairness, I am running a WrestleMania 29 series of articles leading up to the big event and will pose it one more time. There are numerous questions about who will wrestle who and what matches will be planned. I can see 5 different scenarios for ...

The 6 Things We Learned from Dec. 27 Impact! Wrestling

Posted by Richard Corey On December - 29 - 2012
With 2013 upon us, Impact! Wrestling's go-home edition for this year had some ups and downs. Mostly, however, it just idled in place not excelling or failing too much. There was the decent match between Samoa Joe and a faceless member of Aces and Eights; a slight advancement in the Kenny King vs. RVD storyline with the addition of Christian York; a great Divas match between Gail King and Brooke Tessmacher; a surprisingly good tag team match between champs, Chavo and Super Mex, and Bad Influence; as well as a decent, if not comical, main event between Austin Aries and Bobby Roode. There were some non-wrestling segments as ...

WWE: The Top 20 Matches of 2012

Posted by Sean O'Neil On December - 29 - 2012
2012 saw one less pay-per-view than 2011, yet arguably more quality matches.Whether we were seeing a classic WrestleMania match including the Rock's singles debut in more than eight years, the "end of an era," John Cena and CM Punk going at it again, or the emergence of newcomers such as the Shield and Ryback, viewers never ceased to be entertained. After the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, I made a list of the Top 10 matches of the year so far. After debating with other readers, friends, and taking into account the matches that have occurred since, I give you the ...
