Where are the John Cena “you can't wrestle” chants? John Cena shut the critics up with his match against CM Punk on Raw. If you don't think Cena put on a good match against Punk, you have no business being a critic, because you don't know what you're critiquing.Don't try and say that Punk carried Cena the whole way. I've been in wrestling school and been around a lot of wrestling all of my life—it takes two to dance. You can only carry someone so far. Every match that the two have had on television in the last two years ...

Posted by T.J. Brennan On February - 26 - 2013
Finally, the WWE has a new WWE Championship belt.  Although it doesn't tickle my fancy, The Rock's new WWE Championship is a refreshing and much needed change to the belt.  I don't know about any of you readers, but the spinning version pictured above was getting a little ridiculous.  Throughout the WWE's history, there have been many changes to the belt.  Some are quick changes to a different color of the leather strap, others are complete overhauls of the previous belt.  Take a look at the best modifications to the WWE Championship.  Begin Slideshow

Dolph Ziggler is what many people would call a "Work Horse." He goes out every week and has very physical and entertaining matches, whether he wins or loses. The self-proclaimed show-off has been a heel his entire WWE career, and in that time, he has carved out a place for himself as one of the most respected superstars among fans while also garnering heat at shows. His ability in the ring always manages to get some of the crowd on his side, but he has never asked for the fans' cheers.Ziggler is someone who will be vital to WWE over the next few ...

Wrestlemania 29: Why CM Punk vs. Undertaker Makes Sense

Posted by Chris Petlak On February - 26 - 2013
“I am immortal … a legend. An icon” Last night on RAW CM Punk proclaimed to the world that he was untouchable. He went on to say he was bigger than The Rock, bigger than Raw and bigger than the WWE title. Well, guess what? CM Punk went on to lose to John Cena. Yes, Cena will face The Rock at Wrestlemania 29 for the WWE Championship, but what about Punk? If you go back to WWE.com and look over Punk’s promo, you’ll hear certain keywords and phrases that stand out. Words like “icon” and phrases like “not in the ...

WWE Smart to Turn Back the Clock with ‘Old School Raw’

Posted by Mike Chiari On February - 26 - 2013
There are plenty of WWE fans who often wax poetic about the good old days and wish that wrestling could return to the way it used to be. That isn't likely to happen any time soon, but the WWE will whet the appetite of many next week as Raw will have a decidedly "old school" flavor. The WWE first put together an old-school Raw back in Nov. 2010 and it received extremely favorable reviews. For whatever reason, the WWE hasn't had another one more than two years later. That drought will finally come to an end next week and there is ...

Raw’s Real Heel Problem and the 3-Hour Curse

Posted by Andy Soucek On February - 26 - 2013
What is WWE thinking?Do they want their fans to quit watching their shows before WrestleMania 29?It's an odd business choice, but is there really any other explanation for the most recent edition of Raw?As we saw, every heel in the company (except Jack Swagger and Mark Henry) was portrayed as a complete loser. No matter what kind of advantage the heels had, they failed. They're idiots, and apparently aren't worth our time, let alone our money, to watch them get their comeuppance.Just take a look at these encounters from the night's show:—Paul Heyman can't beat up a one legged senior citizen.—Brock ...

Zeb Colter’s Promos Making Things Uncomfortable? That’s a Good Thing

Posted by Riley Kontek On February - 26 - 2013
Since Jack Swagger has returned, he has teamed up with vocal mouthpiece Zeb Colter. Colter has brought Swagger's character to new heights, using his elite promo skills to boost a guy with great in-ring ability but poor promo skills. The early result has been a big push for the former world champion. In the short time he has been back, Swagger has not lost a match. This includes the Elimination Chamber match that earned him a World Heavyweight Championship title shot at WrestleMania. That is a quick reverse for a guy who was jobbing to Brodus Clay on a seemingly ...

An Early Look at How the WrestleMania 29 Card Is Shaping Up

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On February - 26 - 2013
We are still over a month away from WrestleMania 29, but WWE is not wasting any time in setting up what are bound to be the main attractions at the show. There are a few matches that we already know will take place, but there are several other matches that seem to be in the works.Let's start with what we know. The WWE Championship will be contested in a match between The Rock and John Cena, which was set following Cena's win over CM Punk on Monday. The World Championship will be contested in a match between Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger, ...
Antonio Cesaro has impressively held the United States Championship since beating Santino Marella at SummerSlam, and that is an accomplishment that deserves celebrating. Rather than building on Cesaro's success and creating momentum, however, WWE books Cesaro to lose on a weekly basis and has essentially made his reign look meaningless.I fully understand that not everyone on the roster can win every match they compete in, but I have a hard time making sense of the way Cesaro has been booked.Early in his title reign he would routinely beat the likes of Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, Brodus Clay and others, and ...

WWE WrestleMania 29: Can the World Title Match Even Be Considered a Main Event?

Posted by Sebastian Maldonado On February - 26 - 2013
The World Heavyweight Title has been known for being prestigious as the top belt on SmackDown, which was the main title for Raw at its re-instatement in 2002. The title is synonymous with WCW. Many great wrestlers held that title before its collapse. That was then. Presently, this title regrettably represents mediocrity. World title matches used to main-event WrestleManias, let alone pay-per-views. Now, it’s relegated to the opening match for pay-per-views. Can the World title match even be considered a “main event?” As of now, the match will feature defending champion Alberto Del Rio against Jack Swagger. The match should ...
