The Best WWE Full-Time Job Gimmicks

Posted by Andy Soucek On April - 30 - 2013
Professional wrestling has made quite a few people obscenely rich over the years. The WWE itself consistently brings in hundreds of millions in revenue every year. But not every wrestler can be so lucky, most aspiring superstars have to have part-time jobs for years until they make it big. What is stranger though, is that some superstars on TV seem to keep their jobs when they make the WWE roster. It must be tough putting in 40 hour weeks, and then somehow flying cross country to make it to the next live show. But these men did. Or at least their ...

WWE ‘Total Divas’ Reality Show: Can It Be a Hit Among Non-Wrestling Fans?

Posted by Seth M. Guttenplan On April - 30 - 2013
WWE’s newest show Total Divas will be airing on Sundays this summer on E!, but it may be popular among both wrestling and non-wrestling fans. The original plan was likely to see this show on the WWE Network, but the company has yet to be able to launch the station. The Total Divas show seems to be an intriguing show for the female demographic of wrestling and non-wrestling fans. According to RantSports.com, The channel finds a good deal of success with its female demographic from the ages of 18-35, due to the success of such shows as The Kardashians and The Real Housewives of ...
Three weeks remain until the Extreme Rules pay-per-view (May 19), and Monday’s Raw was focused on furthering the storylines heading into the upcoming marquee event. While many big-name stars were not in attendance—CM Punk, The Undertaker, Triple H, Paul Heyman, etc.—the current roster was able to keep the fans enthralled with some interesting angles and some amazing in-ring performances. With another fun episode of Raw in the books, it’s time to break down the evening’s winners, analyze the action, view some highlights and see what kind of reaction the WWE Universe had to Monday’s action.  Raw Results from April 29 (via ...

Wade Barrett Could Have a Good Run as Babyface in WWE

Posted by Drake Oz On April - 30 - 2013
Wade Barrett made his WWE debut in early 2010 as a heel on the inaugural season of NXT, and he’s been a heel ever since then. He’s had some success in that role, too. He was the leader of one of the biggest stables in recent memory in The Nexus, he’s feuded with the likes of Randy Orton and John Cena in the WWE Championship scene, and he’s now a three-time Intercontinental Champion. Unfortunately for Barrett, though, he’s been in a major slump over the course of the past six months or so—despite winning the Intercontinental title twice during that ...

Twitter Reaction to WWE Raw’s Shilling of Domino’s Pizza

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On April - 30 - 2013
Monday's WWE Raw got weird and product-placement happy by infusing Domino's Pizza into the show. WWE basically snuck a Domino's Pizza commercial into the episode when Jerry Lawler ordered and waited for a pizza on the air. Cole turned to Lawler and asked him out of nowhere, "Have you tried out the new Domino's handmade pan pizza?" Strangely enough, he had just ordered one. Michael Cole walked us all through the online ordering process as a delivery tracker graphic popped up on screen. Later, after coming back from a commercial break, Cole and Lawler checked on the progress of the ...

The Shield Winning the WWE Tag Team Titles Soon Is an Inevitability

Posted by Sebastian Maldonado On April - 30 - 2013
The Shield winning the WWE Tag Team titles will inevitably happen. The faction of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns is still undefeated as a team. They’ve recently defeated Team Hell No and The Undertaker on the April 22 Raw in London. Ambrose dodged Bryan’s top-rope head-butt and made the cover for the three-count. They’ve won at TLC, No Way Out and WrestleMania 29. A who’s who of established main eventers have fallen before them. John Cena, Ryback, Chris Jericho, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Big Show and even Undertaker could not end their undefeated streak. This begs the question: Why ...
Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes told the best in-ring story on Monday's WWE Raw, an episode highlighted by several excellent matches. In contrast to the goofiness of a Fandango and Great Khali dance-off, a tug-of-war and a segment that saw Jerry Lawler order a pizza on the air, WWE gave fans a number of entertaining, quality in-ring battles. Alberto Del Rio and Antonio Cesaro, Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler as well as The Shield, Team Hell No and John Cena all did great work on Monday night, but Rhodes and Orton looked born to fight each other. They delivered the ...
Bill Goldberg looked awkward in the role. Batista walked away from the role. Bobby Lashley faded away in the role. Brock Lesnar is the only one who relishes the role. Now, Ryan "Ryback" Reeves must accept the role.Extreme Rules must be his night, and the man who has muscles upon muscles needs to prove to be the behemoth killer he looks like to get over as a heel. Not great news for John Cena, especially with an Achilles injury whose seriousness is not yet known. The Extreme Rules pay-per-view must be the night Ryback puts the fear of God in John Cena, ...

7 Reasons Dolph Ziggler Has More Work to Do

Posted by Drake Oz On April - 29 - 2013
After years upon years of working his tail off, Dolph Ziggler has finally reached the pinnacle of his profession. “The Showoff” is now the World Heavyweight champion for the first time in his career (sorry, but even he doesn’t count that first one), and he’s riding high as one of the new faces of the WWE’s main event picture. Many fans think that Ziggler’s epic title win and subsequent reign have solidified him as a top guy and that he’ll be booked like the star that he is going forward. But as we have learned from history, Ziggler shouldn’t get ...

Brock Lesnar Is One of the Few Who Could Step Up in Cena’s Absence

Posted by Justin LaBar On April - 29 - 2013
Well, John Cena haters, a heel turn didn't work out too well for him. Cena is dealing with some type of Achilles heel injury that could put his immediate future in question. My initial reaction is, Cena will battle through the injury and still take on Ryback at Extreme Rules. He still worked matches on the European tour after the injury happened. They were six-man matches where he was said to do very little, but he was still able to stand out there. That's a good sign, or at least it's a lot better than if he couldn't even get to the ...
