WWE Payback: Why CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho Should Not Happen

Posted by Seth M. Guttenplan On May - 28 - 2013
At WWE Payback, CM Punk will return to face Chris Jericho after Punk’s manager, Paul Heyman, accepted the challenge on his behalf. However, this match should not happen at Payback. Punk should be returning in a more substantial way, while a match with Jericho does absolutely nothing for either Superstar. Just yesterday, before Raw, I wrote about the possibility of Punk never returning to WWE. What a coincidence that later in the evening, we learned of Punk’s return date. However, in that article, I discussed how there wasn’t a lot left for Punk to accomplish in the company. The only ...

Randy Orton and the 15 Best RKOs of His WWE Career

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On May - 28 - 2013
Randy Orton's RKO is a sudden weapon, one that has earned the slithering Superstar victories, championships and WWE glory. At its best, it is both gorgeous and destructive. His version of the cutter is quicker and smoother than those of the men who used it before him, including John Laurinaitis and Diamond Dallas Page. His most stunning and memorable RKO deliveries have included catching foes in mid-air, smashing them through furniture and flipping them over. Evan Bourne, John Cena and Shawn Michaels are among his long list of victims. It's a move that will certainly be a part of Orton's future matches ...

Curtis Axel: 5 Better Choices for Paul Heyman’s Newest Client

Posted by Andy Soucek On May - 28 - 2013
Curtis Axel is the newest Paul Heyman project. And there’s no doubt that Heyman can help make almost anyone a star. Just in his time in WWE, he’s helped Brock Lesnar, The Big Show and CM Punk reach new heights of fame. Look at his time in ECW and you can see the man can work near miracles. The question WWE has to ask itself, though, is: Will Axel be Heyman’s next Lesnar or his next Heidenreich? It’s far too early to declare this a failure, but Axel’s first two weeks haven't been too encouraging. HHH wasted no time treating him ...

WWE Payback 2013: Projecting Main Events, Undercard and Winners

Posted by Mike Chiari On May - 28 - 2013
Payback is nothing new in the world of professional wrestling, and now there is an entire pay-per-view dedicated to it. Also, CM Punk will make his in-ring return against Chris Jericho. The rest of the card can go in a number of different directions, though, so it will be interesting to see how things play ...

Chris Jericho: 7 Superstars He Can Help in the WWE

Posted by Bill Pivetz On May - 28 - 2013
Chris Jericho is one veteran who is willing to work with the younger Superstars. He helped CM Punk during the early months of Punk’s 434-day WWE title reign. He worked with Dolph Ziggler last summer and is currently in a program with rookie Fandango. I wrote about Jericho’s veteran leadership in another article. He puts his ego aside to elevate the younger talent. He can still go in the ring and lead any talent to a great match. Despite losing frequently on television and pay-per-view, a win over Jericho is nothing to scoff at.Now Jericho has turned his attention to ...

WWE Politics: How the Boys in the Back Will Derail The Shield’s Push

Posted by Jonathan Snowden On May - 28 - 2013
It's been so long since it's happened, a phenomenon like The Shield, that some fans might have forgotten what it feels like. If you came up a fan in the post-John Cena era, you might have never experienced it.A hot act.Built organically, pushed strategically and set up for success. Delivering on its promise and potential. In the glory days, it used to happen on a routine basis. Wrestlers were being groomed all over the country and it was never particularly hard for WWE, the top promotion in the industry, to find a budding star ready to ...
You do the best you can every day. It may be on a different level, but it’s still the best you can. After that, you can’t worry about it. You’ve got to let go. After you’ve done the best you can, there is nothing more you can do. - Vince McMahon for Raw Magazine 2001One moment can make a person into a legend. In the wrestling business, one move can turn a backstage nobody into a household name. For the example of one man, a 30-foot fall created a legacy that will live in fame. Wrestling has been running since the ...
