WWE Stock Watch

WWE’s rising and falling stars change on a dime.  One bad week of booking and once-promising acts become yesterday’s news.  This is certainly not the case with Mark Henry, who is currently the hottest challenger to a WWE championship since CM Punk of 2011.  Coming off an Oscar-worthy retirement speech that proved to be a ruse, Henry is clearly the best heel in the WWE.  Daniel Bryan is WWE’s best babyface, with multiple shows being built around his likeness.  Bryan’s clean win over Randy Orton to end Raw makes him an immediate favorite to carry a Money in the Bank ...

WWE News: Original Doink the Clown Matthew Osborne Passes Away

Posted by Seth M. Guttenplan On June - 28 - 2013
According to WWE.com, Matthew Osborne, who was best known for his portrayal of Doink the Clown, has passed away. The article on Osborne’s passing was brief and did not include the cause of death. It is always unfortunate to learn about the passing of a former WWE Superstar and we can all add Osborne to that list. He began his wrestling career in World Class Championship Wrestling and, in addition to time spent as Doink in WWF/WWE, he also wrestled for WCW and ECW. The Doink the Clown character was portrayed by others after Osborne left WWF in 1993, but ...

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On June - 28 - 2013
As one of WWE's best talkers, characters and a compellingly brutal in-ring performer, Damien Sandow is a star on the rise. What's the best way to use his talents? What's a story that can showcase his abilities, keep him in the spotlight and entertain the fans? Assuming he doesn't win the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank ladder match in July, here is a proposed scenario for Sandow in the months to come. For a few weeks in a row on WWE Raw, the announcers refer to rumors of a secret buyer in talks about buying the show. Renee ...
When The Shield hit the ring and took the WWE and its universe by storm, the idea of a rogue pack of wolves attacking wrestlers at will was an awesome concept and a much needed change in the dynamic of the business. Now, I can honestly say that it is time for the “rogue” trio, or faction of face wrestlers, to come together and stand in harmony against the “Hounds of Justice.”Wonder Triple Powers...Activate.For those of you too young to know what that means, sorry. It just seems within the Halls of Justice (the WWE headquarters), there should be plans for ...
Many of the most notable WWE-related items from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram were reflective, looking back at stars and moments from years ago. John Cena remembered his debut in 2002. WWE posted a list of his 50 greatest matches since then. The company also looked back on Mick Foley's insane spots at the King of the Ring 1998 and showcased memorabilia from Foley's role in the WrestleMania XV main event. Other highlights include a close-up look at Wade Barrett's tattoo, some of the worst pro wrestling action figures ever made and some proposed covers for WWE 2K14. The following are ...

Does WWE owner Vince McMahon lack faith in Daniel Bryan? One recent report indicates this may indeed be the case.First, some background. Last week, retired wrestler Shawn Michaels gave an in-depth interview to the Ministry of Slam podcast (via PWTorch) mentioning a recent discussion he had with McMahon over an unnamed talent that the boss felt couldn't draw money:I had a conversation a couple of weeks ago with the man in charge," Michaels said, "and we were talking about a certain individual and he goes, 'I just don't see money in him.' And I said, 'You said the same ...
A decade ago, John Cena and Eddie Guerrero collided in a wild, strange brawl on WWE SmackDown. Cena and Guerrero's feud hit its apex on Sept. 11, 2003 in a fight in a dimly lit parking lot. Fast forward 10 years and Sheamus and Damien Sandow will clash in a Dublin Street Fight on the June 28, 2013 edition of WWE SmackDown. Who knows how highly that fight will be regarded in a decade, but it won't be preceded by either man making anti-gay jokes against the other the way that Cena implied that Guerrero was a sexual deviant and ...
