Curtis Axel Clashes with Former WWE Star Konnan on Twitter

Posted by Sharon Glencross On October - 29 - 2013
He may be injured, but don't count him out. Intercontinental champion Curtis Axel exchanged some heated words on Twitter with former WWE star Charles "Konnan" Ashenoff Monday night after the veteran made some rather negative comments about him.. Things kicked off when the opinionated Ashenoff, who worked for WWE in 1992 and 1993, listed Axel's name among the wrestlers he would take off of television if he was in power. Ashenoff went on to explain to his followers that he thought the third-generation wrestler lacked the personality and charisma to go places. Ashenoff's view point is hardly a new one: The 34-year-old Axel ...

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On October - 29 - 2013
Backstage word on Survivor Series dominates the latest WWE rumors, including where CM Punk and John Cena will end up on the card. The pay-per-view is not for several weeks, but reports of how the WWE puzzle will fit together are already buzzing. Monday's Raw gave us some hints as to what the company is thinking for the event, but a look at reported backstage conversations reveals a few surprises among the expected items. Four potential matches include a crowded tag match, Big Show getting major spotlight, a traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team match and a non-surprising choice for the World ...

WWE 2K14: 15 Most Memorable Matches from 30 Years of WrestleMania Mode

Posted by David Bixenspan On October - 29 - 2013
WWE 2K14, the first WWE video game from 2K Sports, was just released Tuesday for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Taking cues from last year's "Attitude Era" mode, this year's single player campaign is "30 Years of WrestleMania," in which you re-enact 46 of the most memorable matches in the event's history with accurate costumes, arenas, moves, etc. From there, the topic of discussion is obvious: Which of these matches are the best? I tried to narrow it down to 15, so let's count them down. Please note: Only matches in the game are included.Begin Slideshow
Most matches can't be vividly remembered by just the participants, the month and the year. Bret Hart versus Shawn Michaels in November of 1997 at the Survivor Series isn't like most matches.  What became famously known as the Montreal Screwjob is a match that has spawned years of controversy, books and DVD's. Professional wrestling will constantly get knocked by critics for being pre-determined or the moves being too fake. This was a night where two of the greatest professionals ironically engaged in an industry classic that was anything but fake. The ratings war with WCW was in full speed. WWE was about to ...

WWE Made a Mistake in Having John Cena Survive Damien Sandow’s Cash-in

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On October - 29 - 2013
Damien Sandow's momentum had its tires slashed as he failed to capture the World Heavyweight Championship from John Cena on Monday's WWE Raw. Sandow's plan was villainous genius. He waited until Cena survived a match against Alberto Del Rio at Hell in a Cell, then teased as if he wasn't going to cash in during Monday's Raw before attacking Cena with his Money in the Bank briefcase and everything solid within reach. Only then did he make the cash-in official. Cena's arm hung lifelessly at his side. The champion was suddenly a limping gazelle in a lion's sights. WWE chose the wrong end to ...

Best Feuds and Predictions for CM Punk, Ryback and Paul Heyman

Posted by Daine Pavloski On October - 29 - 2013
At WWE's latest installment of Hell in a Cell, CM Punk finally got his hands on the Paulrus, Paul Heyman. Heyman thought he outsmarted Punk by hiding on the top of the cell, but after Punk defeated Ryback the Second City Saint scaled Satan's Structure with Kendo stick in hand to give Heyman a righteous beatdown.  On the post-pay-per-view edition of Monday Night Raw, we saw CM Punk and Ryback do battle once again, this time with Street Fight Rules, but Paul Heyman was no where to be found, possibly making the Monday night match between Punk and Ryback the punctuation mark ...
