WWE Raw Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from Jan. 27

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On January - 28 - 2014
The post-Royal Rumble episode of WWE Raw had fans thrilled for what's to come rather than lament what didn't happen. Daniel Bryan's booking at the Rumble led to an uproar both at the Consol Energy Center on Sunday and on the Internet. WWE responded by booking a championship match with overflowing intrigue, announcing Jake Roberts' coming induction into the Hall of Fame and teasing a stable vs. stable feud fans have been pining for. Brock Lesnar added to his list of victims. The New Age Outlaws defended their newly won titles. How well did these matches entertain? How much did the company satisfy fans' ...

Jake the Snake to Be Inducted into 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Class

Posted by Brian Mazique On January - 28 - 2014
The Ultimate Warrior has company in the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class. Jake "The Snake" Roberts was named as the second member during the Monday Night Raw telecast. The induction will take place at WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans.  The event's official Twitter account was the first to broadcast it on social media. One of the greatest and most chilling heels in the history of sports entertainment will get his due. Roberts was the master of the DDT finishing move and a commanding force on the microphone. Many of the same creepily awesome vibes Bray Wyatt creates with his promos today are ...

Christian Will Return to WWE Programming at Smackdown After Concussion

Posted by Mike Chiari On January - 27 - 2014
Christian has seemingly been on the shelf more than he has been in the ring over the past few years, but the popular veteran will finally make his return to WWE programming Friday night on SmackDown after missing several months due to a concussion. WWE announced the news during the Jan. 27 edition of Monday Night Raw: Christian spoke to his fans via Twitter:  Fans are likely cautiously optimistic when it comes to Christian, due to the fact that he can't seem to stay healthy. However, there is no question that he adds a great deal of depth and the legitimacy to the ...

WWE Royal Rumble 2014: Disastrous Booking of Bryan Leads to Backlash

Posted by Daniel Peragine On January - 27 - 2014
The WWE really messed things up this time around. Despite being one of, if not the most popular talent in the WWE, Daniel Bryan just can't seem to catch a break after another missed opportunity. Instead of possibly winning the Royal Rumble match to square off against Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE went in a different direction, banking on the idea that Batista's return would bring major hype leading into WrestleMania 30. What the company came up with was a complete misfire, as the live audience balked at WWE's grand idea that Batista's return would generate more fanfare ...

WWE Raw: Live Results, Reaction and Analysis for January 27

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On January - 27 - 2014
Welcome to Bleacher Report's live WWE Monday Night Raw coverage for Jan. 27. We are now officially on the road to WrestleMania, but first we have the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in February. Sunday's Royal Rumble PPV left a lot of fans with a bad taste in their mouth, and it will be interesting to see how WWE recovers from the outpouring of hate that was shown at the end of the event. Even with a show perceived as bad, we still had plenty of different developments with various feuds that should mix things up a bit. Randy Orton is still the WWE world champion, and now ...
The 2014 WWE Royal Rumble was one of the most anticipated pay-per-views of the last year, but a disappointing conclusion to the event has left a bad taste in the mouths of many wrestling fans. While the main event of the show didn’t end the way many members of the WWE Universe had anticipated, there were still several stars that kicked off the road to WrestleMania XXX with a strong performance. All of the following Superstars thrived at the 2014 Royal Rumble.   Batista Smart wrestling fans expected Daniel Bryan to be a late entry in the 30-man over-the-top-rope Battle Royal for the right ...

Wrestling Fan Loses His Cool over the Royal Rumble for the Second Year in a Row

Posted by Tristan Thornburgh On January - 27 - 2014
A wrestling fan was not happy watching Batista win the 30-man Royal Rumble on Sunday night and took it out on his wrestling possessions for the second year in a row.  The man appears inconsolable after the surprise victory and goes on a profanity-laced tirade similar to the one he had after The Rock's win at the 2013 Royal Rumble. (Warning: The tirades in these videos feature plenty of NSFW language.) You can check out the 2013 tirade below.  Hopefully 2015's Royal Rumble has a better result for him. Read more Pro Wrestling news on BleacherReport.com

WWE Royal Rumble 2014: How the Company Can Change Course on Daniel Bryan

Posted by David Bixenspan On January - 27 - 2014
Last week, Mike Johnson reported at PWInsider.com that the main matches on the WrestleMania 30 card are as follows: Randy Orton vs. Batista The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt CM Punk vs. Triple H Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus So far, based on the results of the Royal Rumble, that all seems accurate.  Orton retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship over Cena when the Wyatt Family interfered.  Lesnar destroyed Big Show so he can be built up as a threat to The Undertaker's streak.  Kane yanked Punk out of the Royal Rumble to eliminate him and heat up his feud with The Authority. ...

WWE Royal Rumble 2014 Results: Biggest Takeaways from Controversial PPV

Posted by Chris Roling On January - 27 - 2014
WWE started its new pay-per-view year off with a bang at the 2014 edition of the Royal Rumble, and the results have the WWE Universe in a chaotic frenzy of rage and disbelief. Championships changed hands, a Match of the Year candidate was had and the Rumble itself was a solid show—until the controversial finish.  Much of the controversy stems from the fact many thought that extremely over superstar Daniel Bryan would be a surprise entrant in the main event, which he would win and go on to headline WrestleMania XXX. It turns out that was 100 percent wrong, and the predictable ending ...

Please, WWE: Do Not Make Batista vs. Alberto Del Rio an Actual Feud

Posted by Chris Featherstone On January - 21 - 2014
For weeks now, we have seen promo videos of Batista's long-awaited return. It has been nearly four years since we have seen the Animal on WWE television, and many would agree that his presence was missed. Interestingly enough, the Batista that we last saw in 2010 was far from a person that the majority of the WWE Universe would cheer. He was one of the top heels in the company, turning on his friend and former tag team champion partner Rey Mysterio, as well as being involved in a heated feud with John Cena. After being in the WWE for nearly ...
