WWE Main Event Results: Winners, Twitter Reaction and Analysis from May 20

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On May - 20 - 2014
Welcome to Bleacher Report's recap of WWE Main Event. Here is where we take a look at what happened on the show, examining the winners, reactions to matches and any possible ramifications coming out of the program. This week's show was taped as part of the European tour WWE currently has going on, so it was the first episode of Main Event that was not broadcast live since the show moved to Tuesdays on the WWE Network. The advertised main event for the evening was supposed to be Mark Henry vs. Cesaro, but fans never actually got their match. Damien Sandow added Sherlock Holmes to ...
The Kliq inspired the lion's share of the latest WWE rumors, as word of Superstars' perceptions of Triple H and Kevin Nash's possible Hall of Fame induction created buzz over the week.  On screen, Triple H is hated, the corporate tyrant who won't hesitate to deliver a beatdown. In real life, though, he's developing a positive reputation among the members of the roster. As for the man he once got in trouble for hugging, he could soon add "Hall of Famer" to his resume. The incessant obsession over CM Punk and the slim chance of a Nation of Domination revival provided the ...

WWE SmackDown Spoilers: Complete Results and Analysis for May 23

Posted by Erik Beaston On May - 20 - 2014
Just four days after nearly falling prey to the triple powerbomb, Batista returns to SmackDown this Friday night for a No Disqualification match against his side-rival, Dolph Ziggler. WWE Tag Team champions the Usos take on the Wyatt Family's Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in a match that could go a long way in determining the Tag title match at Payback on June 1. To this point, Rowan and Harper have gotten the best of the champions. If the Usos want to turn the tide back in their favor, they will have to do so by fending off Rowan and Harper. Bo ...
Monday night on Raw, we got a better idea of where everything is going with Daniel Bryan on the first show since his neck surgery. Stephanie McMahon came out and announced that while she wasn't stripping Daniel Bryan of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, she was giving him the opportunity to surrender the title on next week's show. The idea of dragging it out makes me think that, in the end, Stephanie won't actually be stripping Bryan of the title. The fact that Bryan is even being given a sliver of agency in the decision means that some kind of angle is coming ...

WWE Raw Review: Raw Returns to London

Posted by Alfred Konuwa On May - 20 - 2014
Raw London was a nice mix of storyline progression and meta-audience interaction. While the show did have its obligatory “JBL” chants, fans still remained passionately interested in WWE matches and characters, which always enhances a wrestling show. The fate of Daniel Bryan’s WWE title reign continues to be in doubt both on and off camera, with Stephanie McMahon demanding that he surrender the WWE World Heavyweight championship on Raw next week. In a best-case scenario, Bryan’s ambiguous title reign will be stretched out in non-wrestling segments opposite The Authority until he has fully recovered. Sheamus will be another party interested in his ...
The WWE United States Championship will be at the center of a mass of slobberknockers while Sheamus carries it. The conveyor belt of brutal bouts he is likely to produce will make his time with the title more interesting than his predecessors' reigns. Memorable matches, reddened flesh and the echo of forearms on torsos promise to bring more eyes to a championship that has been undervalued and neglected.  The title helped introduce fans to Cesaro. Winning it provided a career highlight for Dean Ambrose. The Miz, Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston all benefited from the title as well.  While all of those reigns ...

The Good, the Great and the Awesome from Raw (5/19/14)

Posted by Erik Beaston On May - 20 - 2014
The May 19 episode of Monday Night Raw continued WWE's trek toward Payback. Bray Wyatt gave audiences a further glimpse into his past and his psyche as he furthered his mental and physical assaults on John Cena. Despite the leader of the Cenation recruiting The Usos to serve as backup, the Wyatt Family stood tall to close out the show. The Shield and Evolution took turns trying to one-up the other, but it was the Hounds of Justice who cleared Batista, Triple H and Randy Orton from the ring, proving their dominance as a group once again. Stephanie McMahon addressed the WWE World ...

Luke Harper Shows Off Top-Tier Potential in Bray Wyatt’s Shadow

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On May - 20 - 2014
It's easy to be mystified by Bray Wyatt—he is a cult leader after all—but Monday's Raw was also a showcase of Luke Harper's potential.  Harper's surprising ability to infuse a smaller man's moves into his brawl-heavy arsenal and the power of his unsettling aura make him The Wyatt Family's marquee star in the making. He won't get many of the headlines coming out of WWE's latest trip to London, but he deserves our attention. The show opened with Harper standing alongside "The Eater of Worlds" and Erick Rowan. Cellphones glittered in the darkness. The madman ranted. Wyatt is as captivating on the mic ...

WWE Payback 2014: Full Predictions for Each Champion at Event

Posted by Aaron Bower On May - 20 - 2014
The upcoming edition of Payback is going to provide us with a rare and exciting opportunity to see almost all the WWE's major championships in action. Of course, the one big question mark is on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, with Daniel Bryan potentially having to surrender the belt before Payback. But away from that field, both the Intercontinental Championship and the United States Championship look like they will be defended at the event, which is something of a rarity in this modern age. Bad News Barrett's momentum and subsequent push means that it is impossible to leave him off pay-per-view—and the company ...

WWE Raw Results: Biggest Winners and Losers After May 19

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On May - 20 - 2014
The Wyatt Family made the May 19 edition of WWE Raw a celebration of their malevolence. Even on a night when an Englishman came home and The Shield and Evolution brawled once more, it was Bray Wyatt and family who were the biggest stars when WWE hit London. Bad News Barrett and Alicia Fox benefited from the way the show unfolded as well. Drew McIntyre and Alberto Del Rio, on the other hand, had bit parts in the latest drama leading to Payback. While the Wyatt Family, Fox and Barrett sustained their recent success, one can count Daniel Bryan as a winner too. Stephanie ...
